Shame your hero Farage couldn't be bothered and was a shameful representation of our country.
Why do you hold everyone else to higher standards Jonny? Your hypocrisy is incredible.

The BYD Seal came out on top in the "D-Segment" for total registrations in 2024....beat out number 2 Honda Accord and number 3 Toyota Camry. Then we have two more BEVs coming in at number 4 and 5 followed by Mazada ICEV at number 6. Looks like BEVs are now dominating the Thailand D-segment. See below 18 Jan 2025 car250 article....see weblink for full story.
D-segment cars are mid-size family cars or sedans that are longer and wider than cars in lower segments. They are designed to be comfortable and have enough room for passengers and luggage.

What I find most amazing about this is that 805 people can get over the Ora 07's looks.-

Philip9 says "air costs nothing." Who and what to believe?
I don't know. I said air is very expensive. How much do you pay for yours?
QuoteWell, we wouldn't want to "defame" a diving company, would we?
They can sue for defamation, which means gaol time. Thus, no freedom of speech around the incident, but hey, the Thai tourism industry must be protected at all and any cost.
Er, what? Do you really believe they filled the tanks with soup? Seems you take things very literally.
QuoteNo, just not as naive as you, but then again, I guess you are the sort of guy that actually believes your girl is "different." Do try to think outside of the square sometimes.
Sorry if you only have experience with prostitutes. I believe they are mostly the same which explains your thinking. Non prostitutes are "different". Girls of a similar age to you are "different". You have a bitter outlook if you believe all Thai women are the same and out to get you, very very sad.
QuoteMONEY NUMBER ONE here. Go on the record. Do you agree or disagree with this term?
Yes, happy to go on the record that this is just a ridiculous AN cliche used by bitter old men here who have a sad outlook on life, and possibly those that have been burned by prostitutes due to their own naivety. It in no way reflects the majority of the population. I have been here nearly 30 years and vehemently disagree with your hackneyed rubbish.
Why don't you go on the record and tell us what happened to you that causes you to besmirch an entire country with such a bitter and silly claim? What makes you so bitter? I've gone on the record, now your turn.-

10-1 they knew he was coming before he even got on the plane.
So you said the Thai police sell to foreigners then turn them in and split the money 50-50.
So how do they benefit from him being arrested by police in Manchester? -

This has been going on for years here, way before they legalized weed.
Sell the drugs to foreigners is ok, a policeman is usually in the group selling it.
They split the money then turn in the buyer. Double payday.
Just par for the corse in the LOS's
He was arrested in Manchester. Nothing to do with the Thai police.-

A suspended sentence for smuggling over 38kg of drugs? 😄
Lucky he didn't post something mean on social media.
Or shout at a police dog at an anti immigration protest.
The UK "justice" system really is a joke.
You have to bring your twisted political paranoia in to every single topic??
If he was Muslim you would have said "two tier Kier" let him off and if he was white he'd have the book thrown at him, because, you know, whites are treated more harshly in your imagined version of Britain.
Here we have a young white male being given a lenient sentence (thereby disproving your paranoid fantasies) but, erm, now it's because he didn't shout at a dog.
You twist and slant every single story to fit your narrative. Not only is it tiresome but it's also quite sad.-

Once again, I am not saying that's what happened in this case, just saying, I would not be surprised if the practice happened.
I accept this, but the question remains, is it possible tanks are under filled? That's a yes or no answer.
Perhaps it's a money spinning idea. Less air in tanks, shorter dives, more divers / dives in a day. MONEY NUMBER ONE here.
I addressed this above.
I didn't post it first. I just said it would not surprise me, and gave other examples of the many deaths that occur in Thailand for similar reasons.
It's not always the blind drunk backpacker on a motor scooter speeding that crashes and dies. In many cases, and I have named a few, and you can check them out, the Thai's are to blame.
Air is expensive, so they could have filled the tank with old leftover soup. Money number one here. Maybe he was so excited by his dive he didn't check if his tank had soup in it instead of air - could easily happen. Thais are to blame, remember. More soup in tanks = less money spent = less dives as divers return to the surface as they are full of soup. Typical Thai greed!!
And then the get out: I am not saying that did happen, but it could easily have happened due to tired of AN cliches like "money number one", "wouldn't surprise me", "could easily happen with Thais" etc.
Even for the normal paranoid anti-Thai AN detective work we always see here you have taken it to a new level. Sad life.-

My condolences to the family for the sad loss. I don’t know the circumstances of the young lad’s death, but Unfortunately in Thailand corruption is rife in every single warp of life & wherever a Bhat can be made it will be. I have never dived myself but have met quite a few in the past and have been told that when the bottles are filled perhaps they don’t get filled to 100% so there’s a scim off the top for the price of the bottle. As I say I don’t know the circumstances but this is a practice that goes on.
So you admit you don't know the circumstances, you have never dived, but "people" (in bars?) have told you that goes on.
Ie. you know nothing but you felt the need to post your ignorant nonsense.
As others have already said it would be immediately noticeable by any idea if this made up practice was "going on".
AN bar stool conspiracy theory dreamers, where would we be without them?-

Cat was out of the bag years ago, I first went there 40 years ago and it really was idyllic then. Definitely no fire shows back then, since when did they become part of the island?
Fire shows have been going on there for at least 25 years although they have got a bit more sophisticated in the last 10.
I used to go there almost 30 years ago, accommodation was super basic but it was beautiful. Then maybe 15 years ago I felt the whole island was run down and dirty - checked out of Samet Villa with my wife, kids, parents after one night as it was disgusting and fled back to the mainland. Didn't go back for ten years.
Went back five years ago and it was back to being idyllic again. Very clean beaches, clean water, lovely sand, really good resorts, restaurants, beach bars. Now I'm back to being a regular visitor. Two hours' drive from Bangkok and ten minutes on a speedboat, it's so easy.-

Friends, family, and co-workers are rallying behind a Northern Irishman left fighting for his life following a shocking accident while on a dream holiday in Thailand.Ryan Daly, from Portadown, had set off on an ambitious round-the-world trip when tragedy struck, leaving him on life support and his loved ones in turmoil.
The 27 year old care attendant, known for his dedication and compassion while working with J & K Coaches’ ambulance department in Moneymore, now finds himself in dire need of care, prompting his employer to launch a heartwarming fundraiser yesterday, January 15.Already, generous well-wishers have contributed nearly £8,000 (338,00 baht) to support his family during this unimaginable ordeal, said a company spokesperson.
“Tragically, Ryan was involved in a devastating accident this week and is now on life support in Thailand.”His heartbroken mother, Julie, and sister, Lucy, have journeyed to be by his side after receiving the traumatic news of his critical condition, although the details of Daly’s accident have yet to be revealed by Thai officials.
In a heartfelt plea to the community, the spokesperson added, “In response, we have created this fundraising page to offer support to Julie and Lucy, and we’re reaching out to you, our community, followers, and clients, to help us provide the assistance they need.”
Daly, whose kindness and unwavering commitment to helping others have left a lasting impact, now needs the community’s support more than ever, said the company spokesperson.
“Your contribution, no matter the size, can make a meaningful difference. Please join us in standing with the Daly family during this heart-wrenching time.”
To lend a helping hand, the fundraiser is accessible at www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/jkcoaches-daly-family-fundraiser. Every donation brings hope and comfort to a family facing their darkest hours, uniting a community in solidarity and support.
News of Daly’s misfortune comes hot on the heels of another young Irishman, whose body was discovered lifeless on a Thai island.
The body of Robert “Robby” Kinlan was found on January 9 in Koh Tao, ominously dubbed “Death Island” due to a chilling pattern of tourist fatalities.
Initial post-mortem examinations have pointed towards acute pulmonary cardiac failure as the cause of his untimely demise, but as investigations continue, the mystery surrounding his death only deepens as no information has been revealed to why his heart failed.Source: The Thaiger

There are ways to treat people. Say if a deaf 80 year old Chinese man turns up at Rome int airport, and there are question marks on his visa, should the officer give him a clip round the back of the head and tell him to hold on a while, or behave in a respectful manner, especially considering the individual is vulnerable and explain in a polite way what is happening?
Wow, my memory must be getting bad. I totally forgot the bit where the OP was clipped round the ear. I only remember the part where he was asked a couple of bog standard questions and then stamped in - I guess I should go back and re-read it. -

So you think it's OK for a country to forcibly evict people from their native homeland in order to pathetically hand it over to the US to build a military facility, and then over decades prevent these people from being allowed to return home? Do you even know the history of this saga or how unfairly and inhumanely these people have been treated?
If Starmer reverses this decision then it just cements the UK's position as America's lapdog. I hope he stands firm and does the correct moral - and legal - thing.-

Ridiculous political grand standing and protectionism from the self proclaimed free market leader of capitalism.
Poor Americans forced to pay more for inferior products but, you know, USA! USA! USA! The rednecks will be happy. Pay more for a terrible Ford than get a great BYD.
I hope China bans Teslas, Apple and other American products in response. Trade wars don't end well for anyone but if Trump or Biden is dumb enough to start one then let them fail.
And of course I am sure Musk has no hand in this, no siree, no conflicts of interest there.
Meanwhile the rest of us will be able to buy superior products at good value prices. Let America drown in its own nationalist excrement.-

Nonsense.
All cars have LED day time running lights - much more visible than white paint. -

Haven’t tried to route plan with the ReverSharger app but i don’t see this option there is “ Plan trip “ but doesn’t appear to allow a stop inbetween so in effect is like the “ Navigate “ button.I would use either Google Maps, Waze or ABRP ( A Better Route Planner ) to plan your route from your phone via Android Auto ( I believe you have gone Samsung now ).
The Seal Navigation is pretty poor imho:
Initially i liked it as the interface was great and the shortcut button to bring up chargers was very handy. But it did struggle to find places and I reverted to Google Maps.
Recently the car has had a dealer update ( 2407 now ) and the SIM has been changed, along with this the Seal Navigation had an update.
Gone is the charger shortcut button, it is now buried in settings, the interface has changed but is neither better nor worse imho.
Worse though is the actual Navigation functionality:
On a recent road trip i typed in The White Temple in Chiang Rai whilst in Chiang Mai , drove some 180 km and the little lady exclaimed “ turn in here “ ! while the Navigation claimed i had 13 km to go !! putting it down to an error in my typing ( maybe i was headed to the White Temple café or Hotel ? ) i let it slide.
The next tourist stop was Wat Huay Pla Kang, stopped at a traffic light the Navigation was sending me 5 km to the right when the actual Wat
was there to the left ( hard to miss ) !, curious i followed the Navigation and it took me away from my intended destination, announcing “ you have arrived at your destination “ in the middle of a random street some 5 km away.
Needless to say i used Google Maps from then on with zero problems as the BYD Seal Navigation seems to be somewhat “ off “ !
I think that's true of most manufacturers' own navigation platforms. My Volvo's in-built navigation is useless, it can't find anything you want. And it's route planner always seems worse than what Google suggests. The only good thing about it is lane guidance and turn by turn instructions appear in the driver binnacle display but that's useless when the actual navigation is useless. Think I've used it twice but since then always use Google as it is infinitely better. (Newer Volvos have Google built in and they scrapped their own system).
Not sure why manufacturers still try to do their own navigation.-

23 minutes ago, Bandersnatch said:I have to be in BKK on Tuesday morning so I have decided to drive from Surin to Suvarnabhumi, park in Long Stay and rail link into the city then stay in a 4 star hotel overnight which is far cheaper than return flights for 2.
Can't help you with your main questions but I would say if you are only staying overnight then don't use the long term car park. Just park in the regular short stay car park. It is only 250 baht per 24 hours, it is covered, it is connected directly to the terminal. Long term parking is remote from the terminal, not covered, and you have to wait for shuttle buses. And at 140 baht per 24 hours you're only saving 110 baht per day but adding a ton of inconvenience.
If you are not familiar with it you enter on the 5th floor. Don't think about trying to park there as that is where the bridge to the terminal is so everyone tries to park there. Just go straight down one or two floors and there is loads of parking.
Good luck with the journey!-
