  1. ''Spicer said a Trump romp through Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina and Nevada could make it difficult for a rival candidate to secure the necessary funding from donors to continue in the race.'' Democracy in action.
  2. It is pure empty conjecture. Faeces in the mixer so to speak. Quote: '' ... might possibly be allowed to literally keep himself outside of Bangkok Remand Prison after he has recovered from “illnesses”.
  3. It makes me want to do something extremely bad to him. The problem is the 'police' and authorities will probably accept that and try and sweep it under the carpet. Or even ask the victim to marry him as a gesture of forgiveness.
  4. Perhaps. But it would have to be applied for and registered in some form. In a family like that with so much alcoholic chaos and hatred it is by no means a cert the father did so.
  5. Owner was 'taken aback' ... Is that all?
  6. Indeed - mental instability in relatives of alcoholics is sadly the norm. He and the mother tried to escape it all. But the whole situation seems to have been completely chaotic and had both father and son in its grip. Domestic violence and murder is commonplace in such scenarios. Usually the alky kills his wife who wants to leave him - read all about it in ASEAN Now almost daily.
  7. Thai-French. He may not have had French citizenship.
  8. ''... tragically killed ...'' As opposed to happily killed? ... Joyfully killed?
  9. That picture shows just how Thailand in many ways is still a developing world country. Absolutely appalling living conditions.
  10. So sad. There is no need for people to drown in a reservoir, especially with these water temperatures. Other than they couldn't swim of course and weren't wearing life jackets. I don't when I'm on a rowing boat on a lake in calm conditions but I'm a strong swimmer - taught at school in the specially installed pool. Teaching kids to swim drastically reduced drownings to almost nil in the UK - it was once the major cause of kids' deaths in areas with waterways or on the coast. I don't think it's national policy in LOS yet. I know my goddaughter's school doesn't do it - and it's right on the coastline.
  11. When you get to 80 if you're normal and healthy your skin does get thinner and more parchment like, you look more gaunt and start to resemble the grim reaper who's lurking a bit nearer down the road somewhere. Trump doesn't look 'fitter'. He's simply padded out by his obesity. And mentally he's a catastrophe which Biden isn't.
  12. Yeah it's a bit reminiscent of the Soviet Union before they finally chose a younger man with Gorbachev. Remember Andropov and all the other fossils in the politburo, all dying almost the moment they were 'elected'?
  13. If it's like and administered like most of the rest of its military, it'll probably fail.
  14. And with Putin gone, they could convert his palace into an R+R and conference center for the higher ranks.
  15. Stunning isn't it? 'Targeting' this group, 'targeting' that group, 'targeting' a hokey kokey of different groups every day of the week almost - purely as a source of revenue. It's embarrassing. Too many liquid lunches methinks.
  16. Or a two syllable word: apeclip. Still catchy.
  17. The problem is that with the archaic and not fit for purpose US electoral system he didn't get enough votes the first time either. Instead he was 'selected', not elected, despite losing the election. Not the first time, and probably not the last time but I see no move to reform it either.
  18. Only if you're trying to convince someone you're solvent to obtain a loan. I think that's called attempting to obtain pecuniary advantage through false pretenses or something similar (I'm not a lawyer).
  19. At the German embassy you show your pension statement from the pensions authority, and they issue a nice looking certificate, stamped and signed by the consul, stating you get above 65000 a month income. What noone tells you until you submit it to immigration is that you need a 'verification' stamp on it from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Immigration will waive that for a (ridiculous and hefty) 'fee'. Do the footwork instead guys. Why the Brits or anyone else can't do that is beyond me.
  20. It can be quite hit and miss/last minute trying for C class seats with TG, but they are part of the Star Alliance so their miles should be valid on other carriers as well ...
  21. I got a refund 6 weeks ago for an Air Asia flight I cancelled in January. I chased it up some time in April but all it said was 'in process'. I gave up on it cos it was only the fuel/tax etc and not worth the aggravation tilting at windmills. And then suddenly there it was on my CC. Happy happy - I'd forgotten all about it.
  22. I prefer LH and OS. Non-stop from MUC/VIE. Plenty of time for grub, movie, decent kip. Though LH business class is outrageous - still with 2-2-2 so I've been avoiding them till they get the new layout in.
  23. I had a similar experience in CPH on the way back home - the two planes were parked at opposite ends of the airport. 40 minutes to get thru and hope the bags make it on. They did. I've flown Thai C + Y recently and never found cause for complaint. Other than booking that insane turnround which was even worse because they didn't book me right thru to final destination - after legging it across 3 terminals I just scraped in as they were boarding.
