  1. for a dad and a lad to go and watch non-league crawley town it was 26 quid. and for a dad and a lad to go and watch bayern munich it was 23 quid.

But would you accept Liverpool to have such cheap tickets if it meant they struggled to keep a hold of their top stars of Bayern do?

  2. In a sense, this may be a victory for us traditionalist who value the game for only it's beauty, history and roots. But perhaps more so as the only option left would be, although not perfect, a type of Barcelona ownership wherein the supporters own a great deal of the club. If it's not too late by then. Unfortunately though, I don't see any Manchester City supporters who have the critical faculties to even think about the consequences of the way their ship is headed, nor even care. It's always been the way of instant gratification that those who only grab what's laid before them are unable to see the bus that's coming around the corner.

    Fom skysports:-

It is reported that two high-profile clubs attempted to hijack Portsmouth's takeover by Dr Sulaiman Al-Fahim.

Third parties claiming to represent the interests of Newcastle United and West Ham approached Al-Fahim when hearing of his planned investment.

Now that would have been funny. What would you have done if he had bought your club ? Oh wait, don't tell me. Cos he hasn't, you will stick by what you said. :) <deleted>, if he had have bought you instead, you'd be jumping for joy. :D

In a perfect world, I want my team to be bought by someone who doesnt wish to put 1 penny of his own money into buying players and for the first time in my life run the club properly as Newcastle are potentially a money making factory who shouldnt have to need oil money to compete at the top or with small clubs like Chelsea, same as your mob really.

But if they are bought out by some Oil rich man (notice the political correctness) i'll still carry on watching them on TV and go to the occasional game, and hope that one day Britain pulls out of governance from the EU and then UEFA invoke a law where teams can only borrow money in relation to what income the generate.

  3. Just when you think things cant get any worse, and relegation is only a minor blip compared to what Ashley is now doing to the club, ...... the only man who can compete with Ashley as the most useless club owner on the planet looks to buy the club he spent 10 years stealing from and bankrupting.

FREDDY SHEPHERD is weighing up a cut-price bid for Newcastle United this week.

The Sunday Sun understands the former Magpies chairman is poised to offer Mike Ashley around £75 million for the club.

Shepherd’s move, which is set to be backed by overseas investors, is thought to be advanced enough for the process of due diligence – in which would-be bidders scrutinise the club’s finances - to be well under way.

When contacted last night, Shepherd refused point blank to make any comment.

But time is of the essence, with the long-time United supremo surely recognising the urgent need to resolve Newcastle’s managerial situation.

Shepherd has ploughed much of the £37m he banked from selling up to Ashley in 2007 into business projects aimed at creating local jobs.

But the only job of interest to the whole of Tyneside is the United manager’s post. Erstwhile caretaker boss Alan Shearer is still waiting for assurances from Ashley over United’s future before agreeing to take charge full-time.

But Shepherd would be willing to give those assurances, recognising that keeping Shearer on board in the long term is the overwhelming priority at St James’s Park.

The former England captain cannot afford to be kept waiting by Ashley, with the BBC likely to soon want to know if he plans to return to his role as a TV pundit next season.

It remains to be seen whether Shepherd would face serious competition in his buy-out bid, or how Ashley will regard the opportunity of selling up to a predecessor in the United boardroom.

Keith Harris, the investment banker asked by Ashley to find a buyer for Newcastle, was in the Middle East last week to gauge interest there.

  4. I'm watching this on a Portuguese stream.

I don't know much of what they are saying but the commentators are brilliant: "Gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

    aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaallllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll!!!

    "Emmy Hisky"

Very entertaining, oh and we are winning.

Please enlighten me how you could pick up this stream. I tried to google live England soccer etc last night, many sites cropped up but all needed payment

Download Sopcast or similar viewer, then go to this site

or this one sometimes has games.

  5. We just think the complete opposite sides of the spectrum when it comes to this money lark and i'm never going to be able to change your point of view, i would gladly see Man City at the top of the league as theyve always a good loyal support who deserve to win something but if it were done the old way ie good management from top down ... but this vast amount of money being spent takes away a sporting chance for others.

Man U and Liverpools debt is what the owners used to buy the clubs with not what theyve used to spend on players, this is the difference ... these clubs have had their spending power curbed due to their respective owners.

Newcastle could possibly have gone into liquidation before Mike Ashley came along so maybe theyd have got relegated anyway, and Chelsea definitely would have before Abramovich came along due to cheating by spending money they couldnt pay back. Many Newcastle fans want some Arab to come over on his flying carpet and drop billions into the club so they can do what Chelsea and Man City do, me personally i'd prefer to carry on being sh7te then have this happen, but unfortunately youre right in what you say that this is the only way to be able to compete at the very top as Wengers trophyless last few seasons have proved.

Without doubt the Champions League money has made Premier League football less of a competition they should address this to make football more competitive, then there wouldnt be as much need for these billionaires.

  6. He predicted it way before kick off. And it was a joke, I doubt very much Sanmiguellight is from Kazhakstan :)

Nope, but if i was i'd marry my sister. :D

Easy win, liked Rooneys goal, never knew the fat little fcuker was so acrobatic.

Anyone staying up until 2am to watch the Andorra game, time to play the kids in this one!

  7. Im a very fussy eater, but thought i'd stop there for some bangers and mash which i rarely eat at 160bht as the place looked nice and clean.

Ive been away for 2 months now and was just expecting the ok sausages you get in LOS these days, however these 3 sausages alone were worth the 160bht the best ive ever had in LOS and the onion gravy was made to perfection, the mash wasnt perfect but it was quite nice, all in all i'd recommend it and will definitely go again.

Can of Coke was 30bht which is reasonable these days many are starting to think its clever to charge 50bht for one of the 220ml bottles

  8. it was initially yeah but they've changed the model slightly now to allow bigger investments from individuals.

but broadly i agree, liverpool lost something when it sold out to the two fraudulent yanks and being sold on to an arab or indian consortium won't get that back.

I can see your point, but the Septics are there to take from the club as opposed to put millions into the coffers.

But at least all players bought in the last few years have been brought in with money the clubs generated from its supporters hence you've still got that bit of dignity left, and havent sold out to a sugar daddy which is akin and embarrassing as a educated slim slender 20yo Thai girl moving in with a rich fat 57yo German.

  9. You need to us that big long plastic button at the bottom of your computer a little more often Klang.

Oh SM, it is you, it is you...... :D

So why the change from SM to SML? Isn't light beer for woofters? :)

Yes but if you put a slice of lime in it, it makes you look dead hard and like a real man!

  10. i remain hopeful that rogan taylor's shareliverpoolfc project can secure a partner wealthy enough to buy it off the two frauds in charge now and run the club with some level of fan representation at board level.

Isnt that the idea where 100,000 fans need to put in 5000GBP to raise 500million or is my maths wrong.

The way i see it is that when Liverpool get bought out, the same thing will have to happen to Arsenal then itll be a battle of the billionaires egos and how well their oil or metals business does in any given year to who wins the league.

Me personally i'd sooner stay in the Championship then have to rely on Oil money to survive or get promoted.

  11. Wouldnt you Liverpool fans prefer to be sold to someone preferably local who will run Liverpool as a normal business, and not use the revenue to finance the new owner debts which he used to buy the club, but more importantly not have to rely on some rich Arabs money so you can spend silly amounts of money on players.

At least this way you'll keep a bit of integrity in your club and not end up as a joke club like Mancity and Chelsea.

Or is winning the only thing that matters, thus Arab money and players you cant afford is what you want?

  12. We've hardly spent anything in comparison to the the top 4.

But you spent a lot more then you made, which is the point you seem unable to grasp.

If it werent for Arab money you'd be doing what you did a few years back ie Divvy 3 after Thaksins failure and last seasons spending spree.

You can just feel the knife twisting in to make sure the last breath of dignity in top flight football has completely died out with this Man City charade.

Saying that i always thought the Olympics would be far more intersting if a few athletes were all roided up, to give them the edge.

  13. Keith Harris, you couldn't make it up. :) Newcastle will soon have Orville as the Director of Football.

At least it'll be a step in the right direction.

Relegation isnt that bad we still play in black and white at St james Park, anyway at least we arent owed by the Taliban or similar Arabs.

    Just yet.

  14. I know its been said beofre, but its got to be the worst thing about being full blown alcoholic in that most of them can never have a drink again without a likelyhood of ending in a state like this.

He'll end up brown bread at some point because of it he seems as if he's got it in him.

  15. BJ, would you object if i chage the Game as anyone can look on Wiki for this current Game ??

My Game, if you fancy, think of a Player then name 3 Teams he's played for, in order IE Mido = Pond Life, Boro, Wigan, & then the Form has to guess the Player, got it ??

I'll go first & you name the Player..

    Liverpool, Sunderland, Blackburn ??

Was he on loan at any of the team? if so which one?

I will give you an easy ish one he is the only player to have played in the North london, Manchester, Merseyside and North East derby .... played in order for Man C/ Spurs/ Liverpool/ Mackems.

  16. It's gonna be a long few months without our beloved sport.

If you were in a real football league you wouldnt have to wait so long!

    OK, I'll start.

Whatever happened to:- Joe Corrigan ?

Joe was a Man City goal stopper, playing 592 games.

I couldnt tell you to be honest what happened to Corrigan but he was always a good keeper as i remember. Who was the black keeper Man City used to have in goal in the early 80s i remember him coming to Newcastle and getting 5 put past him on a scorching sunny day ... Beardsley hat trick if memory serves.
