  1. Leave Dagling alone!

He bought a bike and whatever it is, it is his decision and life and risk.

Nice bike man. I hope you will ride it long years with lots of fun.

And, yes, i know Isaan and there no police even dare to stop you. Besides, they are very nice there even if they let you stop.

So, you might not need any green book but if you want to sell it in the future with strict rules imposed on imported bikes nowadays, you have to get it soon.

    good rides.

  2. Have nothing against Harley bikes or the people who run them;-) Have a lot of friends running Harly in Thailand and Norway.

But being a bit "frustrated" when comments like "nice bike, but it's not a Harley"?

Who said that everyone has to drive a heavy Harley if it wants a heavy Cruiser?

Had I wanted a Harley, I bay one. It's that easy;-)

Personally I think a Road Star is more comfortable and a nicer bike to look at. More horses and much better torque.

I do not care what other people are running, as long as you love what you have. Anyone who runs with 2 wheels are brothers in my eyes.

Mutual respect is whether you are a biker or not ... Remember it!

Ignore the haters and enjoy your new bike.

  4. Well, as a Honda VTX1800 owner all I can say is......welcome to the other side. thumbsup.gif

You are now in the small privileged group of Metric cruiser riders who know the pleasure of having a big ballsy powerhouse underneath you.

The pleasure extends to riding in a comfortable position. Never being short of power to overtake. Getting respect (occasionally) from car drivers. Having other big bike riders become instant friends...well except for some Harley riders (I think they are jealous).

    Enjoy smile.png

Yup, you must be right, we are too jealousclap2.gif

So, what makes the Harley a better bike then? Tell me..

  5. Road Star vs. Fat Boy Comparo

"If we had to spend our own cash, for $10,699 we'll take the Yamaha, thank you. It's a torque monster that makes for a great all-day cruiser as well as a bit of a hooligan bike with the appropriate lose nut sitting in the saddle."

"While Harley has been trying for years to smooth out the vibes on their motors, Yamaha has engineered some "pulse" into their motors so they don't feel so homogenized and the bike has the sort of character that is uncommon for a Japanese cruiser."

  6. Keep us updated how it goes getting the book sorted.

To be honest, I think I do not care about the Green Book here in Isaan with my journeys.

Police are not as active here, and if I were at some time be stopped, it costs me 200 bath and a smile.

I do not drive down to Pattaya and Bangkok, are mainly trips up here in Isaan. Loei and the national parks.

The bike has all the papers, and Tax Invoice.

Green Book costs me between 70,000 and 90,000 bath, and as I said, I do not really see the point of spending so much money on my usage of the bike.

Good on you. Ride illegal. Ride on cruiser guy ph34r.png

    sent from my Wellcom A90+

Yes ... to hell with the BIB;-)))

  8. Recommend a motorcycle dealer who has maintained a large fine and Cruiser bikes in Pattaya, where one does not require imagination prices. Is looking for Yamaha Drag Star 1100CC. or Yamaha Roadstar 1600/1700cc.

It goes without saying that the bikes MUST have 100% legal Green Book.

Please attach a map (google map) or equivalent, or address as I am not so well known in Pattaya;-)

Thank you for helping a Isaan manlaugh.png

  9. Thinking of a new bike, but after this e-mail so I was not sure. Can someone explain to me what this means, and whether this bike is legal on the road? The bike is pictured with plate number. Will I risk losing your bike to the BIB if I get stopped in a control?

    "Hello Mr.XXXX

This bike have real book but we change engine from Yamaha 1,100 cc. to engine Yamaha Roadstar 1,600 cc. In the book put engine 1,100cc. and We have the paper from import come to Thailand now. 10. Got the following email from Race Chip, and this solved the problem;-) smile.png

"Please open the chip and change the settings to:

Rotary switch 1 (left) to position “8”

Rotary switch 2 (right) to position “8”

Please test this settings within a testdrive."

    That is amazing!

The 9-B settings have certainly worked for me right out-of-the-box. Maybe these are the settings for that other (lower powered) 3.0L engine.

Which year and model MU-7 do you have?

Try the 8-8 settings and see what happens....I may try it, too, tomorrow.

    Year 2012, MU7 Choiz
