I think the world is making a pivot toward dictatorship. The sooner the western world decouples economically from China, the better.

It seems they are filing for bankruptcy:
SVB Financial Group files for Chapter 11
Silicon Valley Bank's holding company on Friday filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, a week after the U.S. government took over its commercial bank that teetered from a run on deposits.
Why it matters: It's an effort to preserve value for the remaining businesses that sit within the holding company. The filing doesn't include the bank itself, which was taken over by the FDIC.
Our thought bubble: Chapter 11 is often used to implement a sale process if the expected proceeds won't be enough to repay all the debt.

I think this Special Counsel is going to get to the bottom of things. He is certainly doing his due diligence.

There is no "clap-trap" or deflection on my part. I've simply presented you with some cold hard facts, which you apparently don't happen to like. So, please be advised that I don't care about your feelings. I do, however, care about facts. So, if you can present an opposing point of view based on facts, I will be happy to respond to it. Now, if I understand you correctly, you would like to see an entire nation of mostly law-abiding citizens have their firearms taken away from them because a tiny minuscule number of individuals use firearms to take their own lives, is that correct?
Well, I care about cold hard facts as well. You, however, post a bunch of clap-trap but no credible link to any of. So, we really don't know if what you say is true, but here's a little that is true:
More Americans died of gun-related injuries in 2020 than in any other year on record, according to recently published statistics from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). That included a record number of gun murders, as well as a near-record number of gun suicides.
https://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2022/02/03/what-the-data-says-about-gun-deaths-in-the-u-s/
And here's a little more from the same study:
In 2020, the most recent year for which complete data is available, 45,222 people died from gun-related injuries in the U.S., according to the CDC. That figure includes gun murders and gun suicides, along with three other, less common types of gun-related deaths tracked by the CDC: those that were unintentional, those that involved law enforcement and those whose circumstances could not be determined. The total excludes deaths in which gunshot injuries played a contributing, but not principal, role. (CDC fatality statistics are based on information contained in official death certificates, which identify a single cause of death.)

In fact, I don't see any evidence that shows as a general rule that those countries with high gun ownership rates have higher homicide rates than those countries with low gun ownership rates. In fact, I did read a study that was done in the United Kingdom by Colin Greenwood, a retired British police officer, about the effects of gun control there. His conclusion was that Britain's strict gun control laws had no effect on the crime rate there one way or the other. However, the study was done in 1970/71. I don't think I am allowed to post links on this website but I am sure you can find that study online.
What a bunch of clap-trap and deflection. Homicides are far from the only manner of death from guns. Very far from it.

You said most likely Trump didnt care. I seriously doubt that !
He said go and peacefully protest and he looked for support from the guard , someone who didnt care Imop wouldn’t bother!
Its very very difficult for conservatives to discuss their opinions on why a small fraction of protesters had their ,what I call a Summer of love riot mayhem moment at the Capitol that one day! Not saying it was condoned, please don’t misunderstand.Having said that in all seriousness watching Chantley through this video only makes me curious if the judge had watched it too!
Not even a good try. "Peaceful" was only used once. The message "Fight like Hell" was used numerous times.
Chansley knew that entering the building was illegal. That's why he pled guilty. Had he not, he faced a slew of charges. If you look at pictures of him, he was armed with a spear, a violation that has been overlooked by many.

In all seriousness,It was meant to be a peaceful protest while a small minority of 100k turned hooligan and rioted .I want to see all of the facts before making a judgement decision.
Many of the hooligans weren’t convicted of insurrection , like Chantley. I like to see footage thats never been shown before , like so many others!
It wasn't meant to be a peaceful protest. Most likely, Trump didn't care what they did. He certainly didn't take any action to prevent it being anything other than what it was -- a violent insurrection.
You've seen all the facts. I doubt you are waiting for anything other than something to convince you that it wasn't what it was, a violent attempt to overthrow an election. The same thing you see in many 3rd world countries.- 2

I have been led to believe that the border is so porous, just about anyone can get in. I wonder why these people would go by sea?

I've heard of victim blaming before but this must be the first 'building blaming' I've seen.
Now that is just silly. But to be expected.
Steel bars covering windows is not a bad idea now is it.
Again, the Capitol police allowing this to happen is more of a story than TC showing a video that doesn't follow the storyline of investigations committee.
You really don't like the police, do you? There is no police force that could have dealt with that crowd without using lethal force. It required a military intervention.

I don't mind the LGBTQ people, but when it comes to sports and bathrooms, there needs to be segregation.
You've been sharing a bathroom with LGBTQ folks since you were in grade school. LGBTQ people have been in sports for as long as sports have existed. It's pretty common nowadays to get an announcement of another football or basketball player coming out of the closet.
Do you really feel in danger because someone in a bathroom might be LGBTQ?

They were at a meeting attended by various people from all over the World and its quite normal to ask each where they come from .When people meet for the first time, its quite regular to enquire where they come from .
There is nothing racist about asking someone who you've just met, asking them where they come from .
BTW , you are comparing being Black to having a disability or a deformity .
Coincidentally enough , I did speak to a Black Woman recently and I asked where she came from and she replied "Gambia"
Ngozi did answer the question. Lady Hussey decided that wasn't the answer she wanted so she pushed further. That's poor manners for a start, and racist from there on out.

I don't - general statement. Now she's back so I'd say they found out more facts. If they believed the woke noise she would not be back would she? suck it up
Her remarks were well and truly wrong. She's not in a position to start a conversation with someone concerning their origin and background. That lacks any kind of tact. The question becomes, would she have done that to someone who was white? I think not. I don't think she would have asked a person who had a physical disability, "What happened to you?" Again, I think not.
IMO, her questioning of the lady was racist, but it was far from egregious. She deserved to be mildly reprimanded and sent for training in awareness. Ngozi, on the other hand, could certainly have handled this in a much more diplomatic manner. She is wound a little too tight to be hobnobbing with the elites.

I absolutely support this proposal and I will continue to support this proposal right up until I earn more than $399,000 a year ????
For many years I had a pretty good job and earned a good income. I also had a small farm. I thought my tax bill was high.
I took a job overseas, so I resigned my job, turned the farm over to one of the kids. I was unemployed for 8 months (a large part of that was taken up for various paperwork). Much to my surprise, when I did my taxes, I ended up paying more than I had ever paid in my entire life.

Well Harry Truman said: The Buck Stops Here
If it had gone well, he would have been lauded as commander in chief.
As said, he probably was one of if not the smartest presidents but despite that one of the most innefective. The rescue was just like the remainder of his presidency. Good intentions with poor execution. It's pretty rare that I agree with you ... Oh, wait, I NEVER agree with you, until now. ????
I remember Carter and that time when he served. A very nice, kind person, but nothing seemed to work out the way it was supposed to.

How so? Lady Hussey is riding in the bus and always was. The MSM got their knickers in a woke twist as usual and I'm glad to see common sense has prevailed.
Well, Prince William is her Godson and this is his statement:
"I was really disappointed to hear about the guest's experience at Buckingham Palace last night. Obviously, I wasn't there, but racism has no place in our society. The comments were unacceptable, and it is right that the individual has stepped aside with immediate effect."
I'd say that statement puts her firmly under the bus.

How weak and befuddled does a POTUS have to be to be ordered around by suits in the pentagon. It's another cringe moment.
Oh, he's in charge and, like a decent president, he follows the laws and regulations as well as the recommendations of the agencies involved.

I'll take the bait on this one. I don't think most Americans are jealous. It's not an institution they have ever had or lived under. A lot of people are enamored with the Royals. But, Americans have no stake in the Monarchy, so it is something that many enjoy,

Well, Lindsey could probably supply a stable of young men to fight, but they won't be his children or grandchildren, that's for sure.

You can't understand why anyone would compare the US to Great Britain, yet you want us to accept your unsubstantiated claim comparing the US to the rest of the world?
If we remove the comparison, do you think 45,222 firearm deaths is OK? Do you think this is OK?
Firearms are the leading cause of death for children and teens (ages 1 to 19) in the United States. Every year, 19,000 children and teens are shot and killed or wounded and approximately 3 million are exposed to gun violence.
