  1. i don't have solar yet ... i can not think of one private solar installation (no battery), without having excess produktion during even an average sunny day! there's nothing to see through ... having excess electricity on solar is normal and has nothing to do with an ev car!
  2. comparing LFP and NMC / NCA battery:
  3. the past has shown that'll not happen ... don't expect anything constructive from this troll, best not to feed someone like him ...
  4. how the price reduction vent was just not the right move... it caused a lot of damage! i think it will take a few years for ev's prices to stabilize, because right now there's a lot of room for improvement, a lot of competitions for market share, battery costs are falling ... and so on.
  5. i asked chatgpt about McKinsey: "McKinsey is generally a credible source, but it's always wise to critically evaluate its reports and consider them alongside other sources to get a balanced view." but let's allow the customer and the future to decide. it will be interesting to see where we stand in 10 years ...
  6. the link is working for me ... android / imac / iphone ...
  7. sorry, off topic: i would guess the median spending for a non-working retired foreigner in thailand is about 1 million baht per year. how many two-week holiday tourists are needed to generate 1 million baht in revenue? i believe tourists are one of the real economy boosters in thailand, while retired foreigners are just small fish in the pond! that's why we are treated like small, unimportant fish ...
  8. neta x .... wow, i love that! i hope other companies will follow ... (the fine print for lifetime battery insurance will be interesting)
  9. so many foreigners think we are so important to the thai economy, but we are not at all. i do agree, our thai families do benefit from us because we are the breadwinners. "these troubled times" ... i'm not sure what you mean. are you talking about the tax thing or did i miss something?
  10. i strongly disagree with you on this (you say it's not illegal, so it must be legal?). if you get catched, the consequences could be quite unpleasant, depending on the boss of the pea!
  11. i would say the opposite is true. some countries are adopting ev's faster than others, but ev's will definitely be part of future mobility ... as many ev owners have already said on this forum : "ev's aren't for everyone ..."
  12. you need to check your usage from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. only in this timeframe can you save some money by installing solar without a battery.
  13. ... you think tooo muuuch .... please keep us updated what car you finally bought, thank you.
  14. how about educate yourself first with data and facts instead of relying on outdated stereotypes?
  15. i'm not sure this link is accurate and / or up to date ... https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?mid=1REMriQY0BxNPmksruPXyT867ewA&ll=19.901368506109566%2C99.90353913121696&z=13
  16. most people (from about 40+ million ev owners ww)... really? it would be great if you can provide some evidence for your clam! (you are probably right, most people you meet at your bar will confirm your ridiculous statement)
  17. that was and still is true for all ICE cars as well ... nothing new! btw, affordable chinese ev cars are much better than their reputation suggests, and their prices are coming down too ...
  18. you can use that statement for nearly every other country: thailand, usa, japan, germany, russia, etc.
  19. it seems we're not discussing the same thing: i was talking about transfering money into thailand and using this money in thailand without paying any taxes. by the way, if i had a high income and / or were wealthy, i would go for the LTR visa, which currently allows transfering money into thailand without being taxed.
  20. this minor change in the tax law aims to close a loophole that some wealthy thai individuals and businesses have been exploiting to their advantage. as a side effect, foreign tax residents in thailand will also be required to pay taxes.
  21. instead of using 2" pvc pipes ( with 3 x 45 degree elbow), i would like to check the option of using 2" pe pipes (about 5m long). i am looking for airtight connections from pvc to the hdpe pipe. does anyone have knowledge or experience with this? what product should i use? thanks for any advice, motdaeng
  22. there have been many meetings and discussions between different embassies and the TRD. and that for a reason ... (the smal tax law change have been done also for a reason!) the TRD already has the foreigner on their "fishing hook". do you think they will just let the money go away, and tell everyone it was a misunderstanding? i don't think so, but it may be chaotic and will take time to implement everything ...
  23. that would be fun ... but of course, not for everyone ... if i am not mistaken, some visa adjustments are announced for the end of this year ...
  24. i agree with you, but even the unlikely has some likelihood too. after 20 years in the land of smiles, i know everything is possible. the thai government hasn't cared in the past and will not care in the future about long-time "visitors" living in thailand. they will create and enforce new laws as they please. i believe, for us "farangs", it will not become easier to live here in the long term ...
  25. i wonder how you know all that. is it just a gut feeling or a guess? how can you be so sure? do you have any inside knowledge? any reliable / official source would be great, thank you.
