  1. in some counties, you can order (online) the volvo ex 30 as of today ... presumably after the presentation. thailand's release date and prices will hopefully be announced shortly ...
  2. https://ex30event.volvocars.com/ if anyone is interested in watching the EX30 livestream today (7.june 18.30) here's the YouTube link.
  3. all of your questions have been answered many times already, and you can find almost all of the answers in this thread. how many 500 km daily journeys do you make per week? if having a 20-30 minute break on a long journey are too much for you, then electric vehicles are not for you! electric cars are not for everyone ...
  4. what you were told regarding the off-peak period is correct. i only found the offical PEA TOU information in thai: https://www.pea.co.th/ข่าวสารประกาศ/ปฏิทิน-Off-Peak thank you for letting us know about your TOU project. please keep us updated ... how much you pay per kw/h, how much is your service charge, etc
  5. i looked into tesla, it's still on my list, but not in my top 3 ... what i do like about tesla: software, performance, spacious and the consumtion ... what I don't like about tesla: build quality, sunroof, no ventilated seats, no driver instrument display, no head-up display, (for the moment) the only service centre is in bangkok, premium price in thailand, but the interior doesn't feel premium, a unpredictable elon musk .... on the 7.june volvo will introduce the new all electric ex30 ... that could be an interesting alternative ...

  7. to get that numbers, you have to use every single produced kWh everyday all year! i think that would be only possible if you are using much more than 1584 units/months or (like some do) feeding the excess back to the grid! luckily we are not yet at 7 Baht per unit ...
  8. eg. if your solar panels (10 kwp) provide 9 kw of power at lunchtime, and the phase 1 uses 6kw, the phase 2 uses 2kw, phase 3 uses 1kw. does the inventor or BMS regulate the various uses of the 3 phases? or are all 3 phases limited to 3.3kw? having solar and only 1 phases seems to be easier and better, not just for financial reasons ... (?)
  9. @ 007 RED, i appreciate you sharing all the useful information. i hope it's alright to mention the following points: - the ROI will much longer if you do not feed (your excess from the solar) back to the grid. - it will be difficult to financially justify a solar installation if your electric use is low, especially if you cannot do the installation by yourself and you won't feed back to the grid ... (like in my case, about 200 units per months ... but i still think about it ... ). - if you are not at home during the daytime and therefore your use of electricity primarily is overnight, you need to install ESS (energy storage system), which is expensiv.
  10. and the north has been "screaming / suffering" for years because of the dangerous and contaminated air... but no one in government cares!
  11. as far as i know, no extras at all ...
  12. i went to the tesla showroom in bangkok four weeks ago. according to an employee, delivery time for models Y and 3 is approximately 6 months.
  13. in various ways, your comparison is incorrect. transport time and cost from your house to the airport, as well cost from the airport to your destination (hotel / hua hin, etc.) must be included. show me a flight for 700 baht including one piece of luggage, maybe for next week. where do you book your cheap flights ...? if I fly to Bangkok, it takes around 5 hours from my house to the airport and to the hotel in downtown Bangkok. if I go to Hua Hin, it takes about 7-8 hours ... and the cost will be at least 2'500 baht per person (taxi, ticket, bus). that is only for one person, if you travel with your wife or family than it will be much more costly .... if using the car, the cost for 1-5 person is more or less the same ... we all know, an ev car is not for everyone, and that is a good thing!
  14. if you own an apartment you also don't need to pay rent ... isn't it ...
  15. and has also quality air ... enjoy your retirement!
  16. if thaksin will do his jail time, some other high rank corrupt politician get maybe also jail time ... if thaksin get away with it, everyone now and in the future get away with it, and nothing will change ...
  17. after the rain it will be gone and forgotten ... but next year it will be the same again ... it is a human made desaster, and no one is ashamed of it ...
  18. this windy website seems completely unreliable for pm 2.5 µg/m3 ... now friday morning in chiang rai: windy.com : 83 µg/m3 aqicn.org : 344 µg/m3
  19. in the past few months, i've learnt a lot about electric cars. unfortunately, thailand still doesn't have access to several of my favorite bev! the genesis gv 70 (not available in thailand) would be my favorite, followed by the ioniq 6 - ioniq 5 - volvo xc40 - byd seal - tesla y... the specs and the outside of the byd seal are appealing, but the inside is not my favorite. byd han and tang feel premium, but prices and availability for thailand are unknown. the volvo xc 40 is a fantastic car with outstanding performance and quality. but it has only one driving mode, has no different regen levels (only one pedal drive), has a small monitor, it also has a transmission tunnel and the inside seems to me a litte bit dated. nevertheless, it is a great car (imho) and the car is still on my list!!! hyundai will "take" the business into their own hands in thailand starting this 1. april. hopefully, the Ioniq 6 and 5 will be offered for purchase, with resonable prices ... we will see !!!
  20. i had the opportunity to examine and sit inside this car: byd seal / tang / han / atto 3 / dolphine ... ioniq 5 and 6 ... and many more! but some cars were looked, as mercedes eqs / neta s and a few more! most companies offer a test drive near by ...
  21. @Guderian your calculation for a solar 5 kw/p is inaccurate in several ways. you will receive direct response from knowledgeable forum users, better to ask your question here: https://aseannow.com/forum/319-alternativerenewable-energy-forum/
  22. i was at the Bangkok Motor Show yesterday, GWM did not show the ora grand cat, quite disappointed! i did a short test drive in an interesting electric car, accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 5 seconds, that was a lot of fun!
