  1. could it be you prefer "status quo"? if you like change and improve things, you have to start at one point or another! thanks to thaksin and the army there will be no change in the near future... that the thai army, corrupt and criminal politicians, like it the way it was and it is, we all got that. but that so many foreigners are acting the same, that is hard to understand...
  2. i do agree with you on that, the army and thaksin shuld be treated the same; everyone should be held accountable for their actions and punished in prison. however, thaksin's party made a deal with the army, so now everyone gets away with it. thailand is once again stuck in the same vicious cycle where the rich and powerful can act with impunity while ordinary citizens face draconian penalties. thailand's government and elite should be ashamed, but of yourse, they are so proud of themself because they could do it agian and got away with it again!
  3. If you like your health, it's important to wear a n95 mask / using an air purifier. the air quality has deteriorated in recent weeks, as it does every year this time around. investing in a pm2.5 meter and you will see how bad the air is in your home ... https://aqicn.org/country/thailand/
  4. i like to express my gratitude to the members of the forum who have electric vehicles (BEV) and/or solar energy and share their experiences (both positive and negative) with us. i appreciate the patience they have with which they repeatedly respond rationally to the same negative myths and claims. a big thank you to those members, please keep posting! everyone who owns an electric vehicle or solar panels is aware that not everything is 100% perfect. nobody claims to save the world climate solely through these measures. however, it is a fact that electric mobility and solar technology have advanced extremely far in recent years, and there is still much potential for further progress.
  5. that is very good advice. i did an echocardiogram a few months ago at the thai government hospital, and it cost 3'000 baht! they examined my heart, assessed all its valves, and also looked for any signs of an aneurysm.
  6. of course, it will be the same as the rice scheme under khun yingluck.. . thai's are very creative in finding ways to steal from any government funded project!
  7. according to some thai youtube videos, the avatr 11 (suv) is set to enter the thai market this year, while the avatr 12 might follow in 1 or 2 years. i wonder if the deepal dealer-network will also be used for avatr cars. more likely it will have its own independent service centers, possibly only in bangkok. this could be a dealbreaker for some potential customers ... https://www.avatr.com/en/11
  8. it would be nice if you could stay on the topic "Electric Vehicles in Thailand" ...
  9. to VocalNeal: that seems to be the first time we do agree on something ... thanks a lot, you made my (sun-)day
  10. i find it strange that so many people think the pm 2.5 air pollution in isaan isn't that bad. some personals perception and measurement data are two different things; personally, i trust the countless accessible measurement data more. anyone who takes air pollution seriously should get themselves a pm2.5 meter ...
  11. is this called Euro -V thai standard?
  12. who does believe that? the air quality is bad as always at this time of the year (no decrease at all) ... and it will worsening in the next few weeks as it always did the last few years ...
  13. was it a boeing aircraft? why didn't they simple open a window ...?
  14. if you look just in thailand ... how many times have fire cost lives in nightclubs, pubs, discos, factories, homes and so on ... i wouldn't mind if thailand shuts down all low life entertainment venues because of the deadly fires ... imho, any entertainment venues in thailand are more of a (deadly) fire threat than an ev car ... but i am sure, you see that diffrently!
  15. but this time, we are all confident that the government will solve the problem ... the same (bs) as promised in the past years. there's always a great deal of talking, but no substantive actions. the burning has started and will continue as usual ... if there are no active measures and strict law enforcement, nothing will change, just as it hasn't in the past years.
  16. that sentence says a lot about you! it seems strange to me that you criticize electric vehicles, but you admit that you don't have a clue about them yourself.
  17. @muratremix if i'm not mistaken, i believe that one of the members in this discussion have purchased the byd dolphin extended. he can probably answer your question best ...
  18. the thai politicians show no shame. they openly make promises and announce crackdowns, even though they know nothing will change. it would be great if all politicians will be forced to give a detailed report on their crackdowns every three months and take responsibility for the lack of results, resigning in case of non-fulfillment ... (also eg. "the every year crackdown on air pollution / illegal burning", etc) oh, that won't work, because that would likely lead to us having no politicians soon!
  19. offering tesla or polestar as a rental car is mainly for an experienced ev owner. it seems like a poor business decision from hertz! a friend of mine had a reservation for a ice rental car europe. he arrived at the rental company too early for his car, they offered him a byd atto 3. despite having no prior experience with electric cars, he took the opportunity and drove the rental bev for five days. he enjoyed the experience and loved the car. his next car will be a bev for sure! he is open-minded (67y) and enjoys trying new things, not as some ev brasher on this forum ... (the ev brasher should really be more open-minded and go for a test drive with a bev ...)
  20. byd seal performance vs xiaomi su7 max, exciting electric vehicle times ahead. however, i don't see xiaomi entering thailand anytime soon ... it is a nice looking car.
  21. has a thai politician ever admitted to being involved in illegal activities or being corrupt? i don't think so ...
  22. super charger at a shopping centre don't make sense for me ... super charger should be on the highway ... but maybe I miss something ...
  23. thanks for the detailed information! have you asked the workshop after how many years the PPF needs to be replaced?
  24. will it be enforced similarly to the burning ban? we all know how that turned out ... nothing happened!!!
  25. byd does test the byd plus dm-i in australia ... this model is a phev car. is it possible that this car (rhd) will also enter the thai market? personally, i do prefer an ev car over a phev .... https://youtu.be/PSYCERnk_SM?si=pzsk7otgu4vhTQpA
