1. quote:

A spokesman from the Thai Culture Ministry, Boonlert Weng, said, "The Nana Entertainment Plaza is no place for foreigners to run naked and free. Foreigners should know Thai culture strictly forbids nakedness and nudeness and respect should be the order."

    unquote

the government taking a holier-than-thou stand against disorderly protests is pretty funny. i seem to remember some sort of airport terrorism protest awhile back which led to the current government gaining power.

not that foreigners have the right to do what they want - or really have any rights at all in this crazy country - but it is nice that some farangs stood up to complain. even if they were fat naked Germans.

all good, the problem is that images (are they available George?) of the fat naked Germans will hit the internet and cause all kinds of bad publicity for the country.

    Now,

in Aussie some days ago , some pix-artist photographed 10 ooo.- thousend ??!! nud_e poeple for all to see in the public. This picture was even published in a english newspaper in Bangkok! So much for censureship,or double standard.

Ill buy a T-shirt with the Streakers running, and wear it day by day, where is such a sale.

If you enter a police station inTIT,you see on the wall a placate the sice of 5 newspapers unfolded, with all the fines to be paid to the fuzz if you trespass the law.

For appearing nud_e in public the fine is 500 Baht.

Now ,some wise guy in uniform ,might as well go to Jomthien ,and see how many ladys/gentlemen arr in any state of undress ,and collect the fine from a bathing suit wearing tourist.

Xcuse me ,not all germans are old, bald, fat, ugly, drunk all the time, have the Germans in Nana Plaza been wearing german dresses?A lederhosen,Austrian and Swiss speak german too, about 150 million poeple in the world speak german to some extend, now you know.

If you visit Spain in the summer, surely some other nationalities get drunk ,and singing on the middle of the night and making love on the beach.

  2. Okay, I'm beginning to admire this Abhisit guy. He keeps talking about the 70% of Thais who do NOT consider themselves Red or Yellow. Maybe he has studied the successful Western politicians who did the bestjob of wooing the Silent Majorities!'

or maybe? he is a good guy....

Or just maybe BOTH ideas are correct.

But if he is a good guy, then not only is he wooing the silent majority,

but he also realizes that they deserve a voice and is giving them that voice also,

no matter what names and accusations are thrown his way.

The Red Leaders and apologists only try and say that the Amant bureaucrats and such will get consulted,

and deferred to, but I believe that 70% of color less Thais are very much in Abhisits viewpoint,

    as needing to be considered/consulted.

'if' 70% are 'in Abhisits viewpoint' then they are yellow and not 'colourless' - if Abhisit left that yellow camp then he would gain tons more credibility - he is not 'colourless' its BS

Can't get past 'your either red or your yellow, can we?

    like Bush said:

if you are not with us..than you are against us,that goes for colors(colours) too.

  3. I really want to believe its true, just because it is so funny!

    nice one!

    OOH LOORDY,

the Krauts at it again.Rightfully exposing (unpaid their Huge Beerbellys, and small Willies??)

Down the road,a nightly show of girls ,expose their beautiful god-given bodys for the fuzz and all and sundry to ogly.

Whats wrong with that, nothing ,as the Fuzz knows about all of that.

Certainly that is also a public place.

    Make Bangkok a fully FKK place.(for ze uneducated=FKK is a nud_e camp).

I saw some of the runners in their birthday-suits wearing RED,or was it the lobster-red color of the sunburns,5555..

  4. This protest started shortly after the court announced the verdict against Thaksin, seizing his assets. The protesters were paid by team Thakin. It's not rocket science!

paid with money withdrawn from blocked T. bankaccounts.

Not ATM'S,transfers with full support from the Bankmanagers, who are P.....g in their pants ,fearing if T. ever(never) is ruling the roost, they will be punished if refusing.

Ask T. Lawyers if theu have any knowledge about withdrawals and transfers.

BTW, how many followers and admirer of T. aresitting in banks, hospitals, military posts.police.

Only a Fahtwa could help to purge the scoundrels.

  5. Surprisingly unbiased from The Nation. Now we can sit down and wait for the first armchair racist to deliver his daily rant on the free somtam eating dirty farmers, and thaivisa is back to normal...

Big lip is at it again,

have you asked the Poor Farmers ,where their Daughters and Sons go to highschool and universities and who pays the tuition and fees.Certainly not the poor fellows roaming like wild animals the street of the Big Mango, now you think..

  6. This guy has been reading and posting on TV hasn't he. I'm sure I've seen most of those comments before.

This one was my favorite though.

The mainstream media is quick to characterise the red-shirt protesters as being violence prone, though funnily enough it said very little about the violence generated by the 2006 coup that ousted Thaksin or the shutting down of the Suvarnabhumi Airport in 2008.

I don't remember ANY violence during the coup or the airport takover.

I still hear"Airport takeover by Yellow shirts",

    Lies,the airports were entrance blocked!

No yellow shirt entered the airports, the press especially the"Bangkok Pest"pun intended, are distroring always the facts,as they take 99 % of theis news from API etc.copycats and not shameful professionals.
Can we officially proclaim this a failure when they THIS weekend again fail to meet the 1 million person BS?

Thailand has more than 60 million Poeple, voters, about 40 million.
The red have no mandate to dictate anyting ,as they have:
1st,no political base or doctrin,
2 nd,no,leaders who are honest, swinging from one moneytree(party) to another
3,rd, why not declare Thailand a federal republic which can be voted in parliament?

not really funny!

I have some mango trees in my garden, fruiting , ripening, and getting ready to be eaten..

now some different tribes of Big Red Ants are fighting for the mangoes, clinging tightly to the fruits, and killing each other, the ground is red already.

Then the fruits are become so heavy with the warriors, and fall to the ground, squashing zillions of ants.

    Who is the winner?

  8.
Can we officially proclaim this a failure when they THIS weekend again fail to meet the 1 million person BS?

9.
You need to add a catalyst for the decomposition process to begin, try pouring a can of beer onto your pile of compost, the alcohol and the yeast will start that process.

HILARIOUS,

beer does it,for me too 5 cans of the sod gets me started,X-cuse the pun!

Now ,one member suggested to skim the old lady,s Pla Ra urn,und use the juice to start the EM

    More?

    Curious?

    Here we go,take a 20 liter(litres) garbage can,fill half with bore-nam water(no chlorine from Nam-Papa!

Add the litre of P.R.juice,add some sugar(molasse is perfect) add =pinched from Po, 1/2 litre of Lao Khao, mix well, after 24 hours the amber EM is ready will send the sprinkled heap of waste apeshit,or in a spinning frenzy.

Now to be serious, you have to wet the will be compost first,on a grass/planr free ground, can be anywhere, sprinkle the perimeter with Boon Khau=chalk or lime to keep some pests at bay,in order to work Organic.

Beer, that reminds me of the "Beer-Trap"

I use such device to keep most snails or crawling pests away from my mushrooms, use a flat bowl, filled with beer (please dont waste your Budw..)S....a will do,

in the morning i see snails/critters in abundance floating about.

BTW,has anybody any idea if the small garden variety of snails is edible.

Resembling the Escargots I love to eat in the cafe Montparnasse in Paris.

What a waste,i use chalk along the walls of the house and garden/orchard to get rid of them, and F..g in the Membership who knows about that

I know Hoy Cherry is edible, but at some months of the year, deadly poison when consumed.
I wouldnot bother bringing them. I brought beefsteak tomatoe seeds ,carrot seeds, beet seeds and potatoes. The carrots sprouted in one day and were an 2 inches high in 24 hours, same with the beets. But 2 little leaves on top of every plant and stem thread thin. Three days later they all fell over and died, no roots.
The tomato plants sprouted first day also and kept growing straight up with few leaves. I kept supporting the plants so they wouldnot fall over and die. These were 80 day tomatoe plants. They ended up growing like vines and not flowering for 3 months I kept them alive with tenedr care for 7 months it was not a garden it was a science project. I had a total of 9 flowers on the one plant that lasted 7 months. Not a tomatoe to be had. Again no root system.
Now the potatoes were same as tomatoes grew fast and tall few leaves. I kept one alive for 4 months, then decided to check for potatoes. There was no root system never mind potatoes.
Seeds from northern climates just are no good here. Donot waste your time. T. grow normally very easy, needs well drained soil and a sunny plot.,advise: put the seeds in warm water overnight and then plant in nursery boxes of any kind.

LOL,I use empty beer boxes with garden soil about 10 cm high.

Dropthe seeds ontop of the watered soil and cover with fine sand 2cm.

Wait some days for sprouting and the seedlings will appear.

I grow them for a hight of 1 foot,30 cm,then transplant them in the garden soil.I dig a hole of 15 cm and the plants with roots are find their home.Immediately after X-planting I water the plants, the whole procedure best done in the late afternoon.

Maybe Kraxi the lip is not loved either.

    Here we go;

In Singapore some of the the labourer are not awakening from their sleep Unexpected sleeping death syndrom.

Now its recommended there, to wear RED underwear ,to fend off the bad spirits.

Here poeple (protesters)wear RED shirts(and maybe red underwear too) but why?

WELCOME to the family "Robbing Loot",aka. Robin Hood,

did he and the family take away from Thailand Thai Baht?

And where was the money then exchanged into real monet? Easy to find out(if you want too).

The 3 stooges should be apprehended and kept in the kuck until they confessed,(in german its called Beugehaft).

  15. We are just starting to look at plants for our new house. While walking around the local nursery, my wife started telling me the "story" behind many of the plants. I guess here in Thailand, each plant has a meaning. I found that kinda neat...but like the description above, might have to be careful of some! :)

bit off that topic, but anyway ,talking about superstition or Volks-saga's.

I am a absolute Baobab tree fan,the "Andonisis Digitata",I grow some on the land plot's of my wife.

In Africa, mostly on the east coast,Tanzania,Madagascar etc. the saying is ;if you are smelling the flower (literally grapping a branch),

    a tiger will eat you.

Not many tiger left in the wild in TIT,(maybe one is still roaming in Makkasan, remember the saga back 20 odd years ago?!

Maybe the Tiger Beer will get to you.5555

  16. kraxlhuber, this is a bit off the original topic, but thought you might be interested to know that about 12 years ago, I obtained balsa seeds from a buddy in Papua New Guinea, where they were experimenting with possible plantations. I germinated about 90% of the seeds I planted in pots, then planted them out. They grew well, up until our land flooded and they were all dead within days. They reached a height of about 6 metres and the largest had a trunk diameter of about 20cm. They're a jungle type tree and so like tropical conditions but do not tolerate flooding. I know a friend was involved in a possible balsa growing project in Laos several years ago (with the Laos government) but I don't know what became of it. When I was trying to grow my balsa, I was not aware that there was any being grown in Thailand. Perhaps that's changed.

    very well,thanks!

Balsa or a tree similar grows wild in Thailand ,mostly on Old forest land.

Your mishap came unexpected, with the flooding.

Teak trees among others are going dead when flooded for some time.Mahagony on the other hand are growing best in flooded land.

The missus says there is a tree specy,light/soft wood planting craze going on right now.

Its not the Cham Cha tree,in Thai.

I had such a tree growing by itself on a new landfill lease, grew 6 metres in 2 years, unbelievable, the fastest growing tree I ever saw, probably propageted by birds etc.

The wood is good for construction work, termites and other pests seem not attracted to the wood ,as I had some planks stored now for over 5 years, covered in a shelter, and not attacked.

BTW,a carpenter who is now doing some work at the house said to me, if I ever find Termites etc,in my (wooden Thai house), simply have some fertilizer such as the farmers use in the paddys, and that takes care of the pests.

I dont know now the trees name, but can find out.A lot of fraud is involved by seedling nurserys same as with the rubber tree(yang para)...

I grow some among my other species of trees(mixed forest),just 1 rai.

I know of somebody is growing in the north of Thailand Macademia Nut trees, the lady says they grow best in a elevation/sealevel of 600 metres, that was disputed by a member.

His word was" the M. tree grows in Hawaii and also in Aussie.

What do I know,I am not a botanical expert.

  17. If you want to get a visual of what BKK was like, say, 50 years or so ago, go visit Vientiane in Laos and that might give you a pretty good idea.

but please hurry-up.the city is catching up rapidely with the rest of the (modern )world.

Sitting on the bank of the mighty(dry) Mekong river at night sipping Lao(33) beer and munching barbecued anything and everything and retreating to some laid-back beerjoints later in the night.

BUT ladies of the night are available, just dont let you catch with one intimate, could land you in the dungeon for a while.

Poeple are friendly and nice like Thais were before the 80s.

Thailand has cetrainly changed and the poeples as well Because of our Western culture/livestyle and strange attitudes and laissez fair.

I would not mind to live there with my small pension, which can reach far,a lot of Francaise poeple have moved there, french is the second language in Laos, btw.

  18. I have some Andonis Digitata, the Baobab/Finger tree in the garden, one is 10 years old and quite a view, now had lost (perrenialy)all his leaves, but start budding again.

This tree is a miracle plant and millions in Africa make some sort of living from that tree,in Aussie ther is even a bar cut in such a tree, which can grow for 2-5 thousend years, maybe exaggereted?

Has anybody seen or planted such a tree in Thailand.

The "Baobab" is pictured in the movie Australia and I bet a lot of Aussies get homesick seeing such a majestic tree.

PLS. do not confuse with the "Bottle Trees" planted in the botanical garden in Chiang Mai and Singapore.

I lived in Mallorca Spain for 8 years, there was and is a Mallorca Daily Bulletin, aka bullshittin.

Comes with all the dressings and dont forget to laviously add the mintsauce, elbow licking good.

forgot the point,a barowner with a small FM radio station,an american had the Ricky the Lash collum inthe Daily.. Fridays, a real good Foo Man Choo quoter and very witty, anybody remember that man?

  21. my wife says its called a yang tree and they flower she calls a pin.

    correct,

the fallen flowers are collected by poeples, the inside of the flower is like a soft brush when dried, then added to food.

Quite expensive that stuff when bought in the markets.

The wood when cut/sawed is only good for construction work, very like balsa.

Has anybody any idea where balsa grows in Thailand/

I had some trees in the old lease, but cut and wasted,no use exept for modelling airplanes etc.
