  1. I am holding a retirement visa, one year renewal, and have a multible reentry permit.

The original visa Non Immigration O Retirement was issued in Mae Sai.

I do frequently my 90 reports..

Last report was done on 14th of August 12.

Just received a message that I am required to travel abroad to Singapore on the 5th of September 12.

Retirement visa expires on the 22 of September and i will not be in Thailand to do that.

Is it possible to get a extension of my retirement visa say, on the 1st of September.

I have the 800K baht in the bank for one year already and will get a new letter from the bank soon.

I am holding a "Yellow Tabian Baan book", that is the proof of adress.

Other posts stating one can get a extension 1 month before expiration date, if I read correctly?

    Any confirmation on that matter?

  2. Yes 800k in cash bank account your name only for 3 months.

Yellow book fine but not required if have other proof - but take and copy if asked.

Copy of passport data/visa/extension(s) and departure card. 4x6cm photo taken within six months for TM.7 form and 1,900 baht for fee.

65k not required if using cash in account. If you want to use 65k rather than bank account you need a letter confirming income from your Embassy. What they require may be sworn statement or simple paperwork proof or extensive documentation and confirmation taking a long period of time. You need to check with your Embassy for there specific requirements. It has nothing to do with remitting money to Thailand but only your financial condition.

    thanks for the advise

It is always advisable to have a proof of income, anytime, in case of a legal dispute, divorce or a liability case.

Can any member advise what they experienced in their consulates when asking for a 65K income proof and certificate, British, German, USA, Aussie.

    Sworn affidavit, moneytransfer?

  3. My issue with the 800k method is the paperwork. The US requires that silly form if one has more than $10,000 USD in any foreign account. Not a deal breaker, but I hate the idea of having to file any additional paperwork with the feds.

Fair enough. But as I mentioned several times you do not need to deposit any large sums in Thailand to get the retirement extension. You can just get the USD50 certification letter from your consulate showing income of 65KBaht/month or more. And you wont need medical or police certificates either.

not to be seen ignorant to previous post's, but just what do I need to show to the immigration officer for my upcoming retirement visa extension which expires (first year) in September.

Do I have to proof again the deposit of 800K Baht for 3 month's in the bank?

Have now received my Yellow Tabian Baan from the Amphur ( Amphoe), without too much hassle.

That is the proof of my residency here in LOS.

It is unclear to me how I can proof the 65 K monthly income (in lieu of the 800K deposit)

Do I have to proof of the source ( monthly pension) or can I advise my bank overseas to remit 65K or above monthly, drawn from my checking account there into my current or savings account with a Thai bank here, and than use the

    savingsbook entry as proof?

Income can be anything isn't it, pension, remittal on a monthly basis etc.

forgot the certification letter from the embassy in Bangkok, for a 65 k or more monthly income.

  5. never had any problem doing my 90 day report by mail after traveling outside of Thailand.

what do I have to send by mail for a 90 day report, guess must be by EMS ?

Report by registered mail so you have a receipt of sending it:

    1. Copy of all passport pages (up to the latest arrival stamp in the Kingdom or latest visa stamp)
    2. Copy of arrival/departure card TM.6 (front and back)
    3. Previous notifications of staying over 90 days (if any)
    4. Completely filled in and signed notification form TM.47
    5. Envelope with 10 Baht stamp affixed and return address of foreigner for the officer in charge to send back the lower part of form TM. 47 after having received the notification. This part must be kept for reference and for future notifications of staying over 90 days.
    6. The above mentioned documents must be sent by registered mail and the receipt of the registration kept by the foreigner.
Send the mail before the renewal date 7 days to the local immigration office

    Mario,

this post reply is certainly clearyfying a lot of open questions by many TV members/readers alike.

    In my case, THANK YOU.

  6. Many of us do 90 day report by mail. We only send a copy of the departure card. So what you wrote can not be the case. i.e. if you don't have the 90 day stamp on your departure card it does not mean you have not reported.

If you report the 90 days with form TM.47 by mail, what proof does one have the notification 90 days was received by the respective immigration office of your residence area, and duly registered.

Would make sense to get a receipt, same as the one when reporting personally.

I tried to give notice of 90 days stay in Bangkok/Chaeng Wattana office, ( I was just there for a different reason), but was reverted back to my North Thailand immigration office.

The last reporting 90 days in March 2012 date had lapsed because I departed Thailand and returned with a new departure card with no permission no stay timeframe . Only the arrival date was stamped.

Sometimes the permission to stay is handwritten on the departure date.

In the passport itself, next to the Re-entry permit stamp (half page) the arrival stamp shows the arrival date and handwritten the lenght permitted to stay. In my case arrival Febr 2012 permitted to stay until Sept. 2012, the expiration date of my retirement visa.

The form/card, "Receipt of Notification" stapled in my PP. has a expired

date for the last 90 days reporting stamped on it, and rendered invalid.( no Barcode is on the card)!

I guess reporting by mail now is impossible??

    Any advise .

  7. Hey there, Old Sailor:

    post-37101-0-60189000-1334347563_thumb.j

Please don't put the masses of expat critics of Thaksinistas and redshirts (the majority of expats according to polling) in the same boat as a very small number of extremists who would post about assassinating anybody! Also, it's totally specious to suggest anti-Thaksinistas consider any Thai politician as squeaky clean. Nice try. Actually, not nice at all ...

"the majority of expats according to polling" - poll? Which poll was this?

    attachment

    TS the sailor @ 90?

    Popeyeof the North.

  8. 'Death threat' report disrupts Thaksin's Laos arrival

VIENTIANE: -- Ex-premier Thaksin Shinawatra was given special protection when he arrived in the capital of Laos yesterday, amid rumours of an assassination threat against him, according to people close to the former leader.

Seems a bit manufactured to allow for cancellation of events when Thaksin finds out that only a handful of people turn up, not the tens of thousands he has been told will be in attendance. Thaksin is obviously happy in Dubai, he's putting a bit of weight on I see.

In the other papers coverage, Thaksin thanked the Lao government for the added security as he states that he has been able to survive four previous assassination attempts through a combination of good luck and wearing a protective amulet.

    .

Everyone's luck runs out sometime; and since when did an Amulet stop a high velocity bullet?

do you have TS birthday numbers/ weekday/town/zodiac, what kind of amulet he's wearing?

They all together will tell you when his time is up.

  9. This joker seems oblivious to the fact that he is driving a knife straight through this country's heart and in turn has the ability to bring it down on its knees. All because of his ego and cowardice in facing the music. He also has a death wish the way he is currently conducting himself. He would do good to just come back home and take his medicine in the monkey house.

    death wish =granted

    he should hang himself.

  10. You can not do by mail if you have failed to report on time is the only restriction that I am aware of (or loss of documents).

like the receipt of notification stapled into your passport.

When reentering Thailand, that receipt is out of date anyway, has a red stamp on it saying when you have to notify your next 90 days stay.

If you arrive at the airport , on the TM 6 is stamped when you arrived.

On the page of the Reentry visa is also a stamp which shows how long your visa is valid and you are permitted to stay.

I am jumping forum post's now.

A Yellow Tabian Book could be used as proof of residency for the 90 days reporting?

  11. Leaving the country resets the 90 day clock. You only report if you saty for 90 days in a row in Thailand, which you didn't Your new 90 day report is due 90 days after you re-entered Thailand.

The officer was probably kind enough to remind you that you have to go for you extension of stay before the 12th.

But is is not entirely sure what you have. You either have a mutiple non-immirgant visa that is still valid. Than you can stay for up to 90 days a time in Thailand before you have to leave. So you would not do 90 day reporting.

Or you have a 1 year extension of stay from immigration, than you do 90 day reporting. At immigration they would give you a new 1 year extension of stay if you go before the 12th, with the notarized stament.

90 day reporting is seperate from your permission to stay.

Can you pls explain the term < notarized statement>?

My retirement visa expires in September 2012, I will need to make a extension.

Do I still have to proof the 800 000 Baht (3 month in the account) with a letter from the bank and the savingsbook.

My embassy is not issuing again for me a letter of residence, as they need proof where I stay.

The last 5 years they had issued for me such a letter.

Have a house, I am married and have Thai wife and 2 kids.

In my passport the place of residence is in a european country.

Now I have applied for a Yellow tabian baan book as proof where I reside in Thailand.

Its quite a lot of hassle to get such a book. Cost me for all the translations and certification from the embassy and Ministry of Foreign Affairs, about 7000 baht.

Was all done by a translation agency here in Chiang Rai

What other documents do I have to show for an 1 year retirement visa extension?

  12. Have read somewhere in TV, that you cannot give the immigration a 90 day notice of stay by mail if you have travelled outside Thailand.

The post by a member (somewhere in Yellow tabian baan) stated, that you must go personnally to the immigration and make your 90 day report.

Reason I believe is that you not have permanently stayed in Thailand during the 1 year visa and resided here.

I might be wrong with my opinion.

  13. If the international community (and therefor also the US) wanted to arrest Thaksin, they would have done so a long time ago. Meanwhile he's been in the UK, Russia, Germany, UAE, Saudi Arabia, among other countries. All of them have extradition treaties with Thailand but none of them have any interest of joining Thailand's politically-motivated "Banana Circus".

Sure they do. He has been banned from major countries, I believe he will be arrested in Germany, and other countries have banned him from pursuing political activities from within their borders.

Extradition is a complex legal process and hard to pursue as long as T is jet hopping between "less honorable" states looking for passports, which is probably why he is doing that???

If the Thai government revokes his Thai passport, and he returns, he will have to do border runs like the rest of the farang and pay the exorbitant visa fees he himself implemented.

greece, hungary and several other EU countrys ,have made a complaintto the EU comission, why Montenegro is sheltering a criminal.

No Menyenegro membership in the EU,a save heaven for criminals and taxgodgers, like that alpine country S.

This is my last Post,as I revoked my membership with Thai Visa Forum, too many wanke_rs around

  14. Here he goes again, it's a wonder foreign media still take this man seriously...

The Emerging Markets reporter forgot to ask this Montenegran if he would be coming back to face his jail term, because I can't see how a fallen government can suddenly render an exiled fugitive free of guilt.

Oh, hang on, I forgot, this is Thailand where you can just pay 1 million poor people to stage an insurrection, so that the army loses discipline among its ranks the police melt away, then you can fly your private jet into Chiang Mai airport, get waltzed off to your private house with a police escort for safety (free visa on arrival for visitors at present including Montenegrans), surround yourself with your 1 million red shirts, lest an unfaithful police officer tries to serve the arrest warrant, and you thumb two fingers at the established justice system (which is a joke by the way).

We've yet to see the final audacious red shirt act...

beware red shirts, there is already a witch-hunt going on.

I ,as a (RED)motorcycle taxi driver would not dare to hang around soi entrances ,a ping pong ball might find his way

  15. hmm, wonder how he comes back. Served on a silver tray with a red tomato in his mouth?

Black and white stripes .. complete with handcuffs and legcuffs?

Its fair to say your statements are nonsense. If and when Thaksin comes back, there will be so many red shirts at the airport to welcome him that there won't be anyone with a handcuff anywhere near Suvarnabhumi. That's just realistic thinking.

by the time taksin is coming back ,there are no more Reds around, and you are home as well

  16. If and when Thaksin comes back, there will be so many red shirts at the airport to welcome him that there won't be anyone with a handcuff anywhere near Suvarnabhumi. That's just realistic thinking.

Actually not very realistic. The plane would more likely be shifted to an undisclosed airport, and even if he did come back, how long d'you reckon it'd be before he's taken out?

    D.O.A

  17. Personally I think it's all an elaborate hoax that could potentially benefit all sides.

Think about it, Thaksin fakes his death - 99% of the Reds go home leaving just the hardcore leaders to be rounded up. Political stalemate over. Thaksin fakes his death and is "off the hook" for the crimes he got convicted for. Lie low in a nice location, have a bit of plastic surgery e.t.c and all's good for him too. Da da - everyone's a winner!

    Cheers,

    Pikey.

    Salud,

U forgot one thing. If he fakes deadt a certificate has to be issued by a coroner etc.

The asset seized falls back to his heirs, as the government cannot seize money from a dead person.

The courts have to decide what to do.

Off the hook, maybe,a Pinkerton team surely will find him, plastic surgery or not.

So will headhunters/out for the bounty on his head,I guess 99 Baht now?

  18. The 2Bangkok site even has a comment supposedly from the photographer who took the April Montenegro photos. Like it or not, it appears he's still amongst us.

Which should make us even more concerned as to why is wife and kids have chosen to depart the country again.

to be correct:ex wife, since he divorced her. Whereabout/still alive and kicking?why not ask his lawyer?

If he's in Dubai, the immigration and police will know about it.He stays most likely at the Al Jumeiria hotel complex, has a thai restaurant as well.

For 2-5 million US dollar investment there you get virtuelly residency for life.

Visa for 4 weeks you get at the airport, extension no problem, and then you always make a trip to Oman by car, very scenic.

Dubai UAE is a hotchpot for poeple on the run.Just go at night to Nelsons you think you are @ the trafalgar square/Soho/Picadilly,the bouncers are from Nigeria/Ghana,one pint of beer 5 quids, nana for a small ,the hookers are at the Lord Hotel or at the Rattlesnake, from everywhere, also from Patpong.

  19. Today, he's supposedly off in Russia:

    r709523477.jpg

Former Thai premier Thaksin Shinawatra poses for a photograph in this picture taken in Moscow April 27, 2010 and obtained from his Facebook page

    Reuters (52 minutes ago)

    Very observant

Every thing has a 10 o'clock shadow except Taskin

    Ghost of fake

Thai wife says must be a Ghost

Going one step further I placed the photo on to the works computer that can find colour difference, and it shows a white outline .5 pixels wide all around Taskins body

There is a shadow below the lamp post, in its present position it should have continued across Taskins body at the point where the photo was taken

But the shadow goes behind Taskins body

Looks like the picture of Taskin was placed over the shadow

a well done fake, but definatly a fake

I'm amazed. You guys have absolutely no knowledge about photography or shadows. Let me try and explain it as easy as possible. Everything has a shadow, you're right. Now, Thaksin does indeed have a shadow, but it's not visible because his legs are cut off above his knees. The shadow is there, you just can't see it. A person the height of Thaksin doesn't throw a 20 meters shadow like the pole that is behind him. Use logic, people.

Here's another "photoshopped" image for you kids to play around with. And this time there's even a shadow under his arm!

    27862_420331504879_127739209879_5351907_2001160_n.jpg

    first photo a fake?/!!

Look at the cars,no such thing in moskwa, look at thejacket of the man,the sleeves are way too long, and the shirt, must have found it in a skip.

Arches domes with crosses not in russia seen, come with onion shapes.crosses koptic, nuff said,eh?

might be wrong in all above?

The distance with arrows on the lamp-post shows 50m.no such sign with metres(m) in russia, the writing on the sign is certainly not cyrillic, connot make out much.

  20. If I remember some thread about Thai citizenship, it is illegal to hold dual citizenship..I realize that hundreds do, however, consider if indeed this is the LAW and the Thai Government confirmed that Thaskin is indeed a citizen of Montenegro, and moved to revoke his Thai citizenship.....Intresting bitch slap by the Thai government for all the trouble he has been giving them.... :)

Wouldn't that be double standard? Letting hundreds have dual citizenship but revoke it from Thaksin because ...well ...because he's Thaksin?

I had previously posted a thread in this forum,(not to revoke his citizenship)!

Suspend his (T's,) civil right's for a period of time, say 5 years,no voting no elected post,no nothing, declare person non grata,

Its done in the states and some EC country's as well for serious criminals.

He revoked a lot of poeples citizenship ,by killing them through the police etc. about 2-3 thousend suspected drugdealers/pushers and a lot of innocent's as well.Like a couple who won the lottery, jalous neighbors informed the Fuzz who shot them, that it was drug-money,a Lie,but the kids are dead. The money (1-2 Millions disappeared??!!Was in the newspaper BP and Nation years back.

  21. What do you mean tourist not coming. All my chum's are, they will be arriving BKK in the next week or two. Just one small problem they'll be in transit on there way to Bali.

It is plan for Mr. T to destroy Thailand bit at a time. First truism, they export industry. Don't be full to think they are safe, unless this madness is stooped little by little other industry will be effected. I saw the stock market going down and every one that that was safe. The ones that will be mostly effected are the poor, the Issan and for sure the Red shirt folks.

You got it spot on, that is what it´s all about. He want to bring Thailand to it knees. One dangerous bast**d. I wish him all bad carma one person can get. :)
