  1. YIPPEE :)

Good news for me - I'm going to the UK this month.

Also, when I send money home to my mother, she gets more.

It isn't too bad for the pensioners - it was only 37 baht to the pound when I first came here in 1992.

It might make a few of the undesirable stay away from here, or go back too.

Silly,or what, the bar broads simply join the reds, making a buck on the sly as well.TIT.

If you dont have money, take to one from the neighbors.

    Thailand,a Volk of Ali Babas.

Saddam turns red in his grave?,some say he is alive in Monterosso.

  2. You sound a little bitter dude. :)

    are you insane??

To become now a Thai citizen si Tantamount to commit suicide,as you as a Falang is sticking out like a sore Thumb,

haven't you followed the news(local0 how many Falandgs are been killed in the last 3 months,

I guess more that 10 ,in the provinces alone, not by hitman paid by the old lady,no...political,yessire.

Go ahead, wander about, tend to yoyr herd of Kwai, and someday somebody finds your severed head on a pole(like in the Congo) as the Imbeciles are a bird of a feather,

    now give me shiit.go ahead

    should read:

Some poeple with connections to the head honchos are about, they have now Thai citizenship, cannot speak Thai jackshit, dont know their elbow from a broomhandle.

    merchants of D.. all

  3. 4 soldiers dead and hundreds wounded....

If thailand had a professional police, with anti riot force to front the insurgents, special forces to quickly and clean arrest the red leaders, they had no needs for the intervention of the Thai Army.

But cops are too busy to count the baht made with their corrupted activities and to scared to face to face a mob.

    Excellent post.

Thai army is probably the worst in the world in anyway. The weakest / spent money. They lost against Laos and they'd lose against Cambodia.

Abisith is also 100% responsible for the yesterday drama. He never tried to understand the other opinions. Friday, Thai police and Thai army tried to solve the issue in a Thai way but at 10 PM, Abisith put some oil on the fire.

Thai regular armed forces, marine, airforce, what can they be proud of?

Now a lot of you guys are gonna be pissed off,its intended to be contraversial, therefore I live,(or was it something else that way)

The Thais never can start a war on their own against any forces, foreign or national.

They did a bad job by assisting and fighting alongside the US forces in Vietnam,Laos and Cambodia.

These countrys didnt do anything against Thailand, but having been bombed into oblivion from B52.s based in Thailand, and some with Thai crew.

Thais are not fighters by themselves,a wolfspack to tear another apart.

Thai soldiers are mainly conscript such as the GI were in Vietnam.

Now the US armed forces are a voluntary force, paid mercenaries, hired to kill.

They know what the score is.

The poor thai soldiers have to die now because some politicians cannot think straight, and have their own agendas.

  4. dont tell people she a capitalist. TO PEOPLE here its like treason!!!!!!!!!!!

ahhh, you answere my question. when was the nexxt reg. election going to be held?

it all makes sense now. the reds have nothing but 500 baht as their guiding principle. i doubt the country is tearing apart because of the reds, they are just a nuisance!

Capitalism is okay, it's the megalomania of one capitalist that makes the current situation dangerous in my view. He has "lost face" and if given the chance at power here again, he will seek severe revenge. I think that in order to rule here, he will say that he is sorry, but the time for democracy is not now, (and many will agree, who are now supposedly fighting for it), and then he will remove it. From there, Thailand will either fall apart and begin to look like any number of failed states in Africa, or it will become a closed, centralized regime like that in Myanmar.

Somehow, this all needs a reset. I spoke to a good friend of mine, (he is Thai), who although he is an intellectual, supports the red shirts. A while ago, he said that he thinks the reset will only come with blood. Well, we've had blood, but the situation seems more dire than before. How much blood? Does Thailand have to become a failed state for twenty years or more before it gets better? (I mean real failed state, unlike those who say that Thailand already is. When roving gangs of armed killers and rapists start disassembling all of the infrastructure here, I'll classify it as failed)

The reds cannot offer any good policy plans other than money appearing by magic to pay the people who came out to protest, and bringing dear leader Thaksin back. How will this make the country better? Abhisit is not perfect by a long shot, (which I blame more on his coalition partners than him), but he created some stability that Thailand could have built on to catch up to its ASEAN partners with. The longer crap like this goes on, (and you must admit that the protesting of some crazed group will continue if there are snap elections. There will be reds or yellows in the streets no matter which side wins), the further Thailand falls behind Vietnam, Indonesia, and Malaysia. Before Thaksin came in, Thailand was set to be the next "Asian Tiger" country. The `97 crisis killed that, but it was populist policies that he brought to Thailand that created the rift that has slowed Thailand's ability to recover like its neighbors have.

The next elections are scheduled for December 2011. The nine month, three month, 15 days garbage is all a struggle for who gets to influence the new leadership of the military. This is one of the things that must change, The military must ONLY support the government that is in power, not some faction in society. Whoever leads it must not have connections with any group, it must be a tool of the government, and nothing more.

To say that the reds on the street have only 500 baht as their guiding principle is just as shallow of a judgment as saying that they have democracy as their guiding principle. The deeper issue of motivation here is much lower on Maslow's hierarchy of needs. Whether these people understand democracy or not is irrelevant, these people are focused on the basic and safety needs of survival and comfort. They want food on the table, and a tv to watch. Right or wrong, Thaksin was smart to manipulate them by using populist policies to give them "democracy they can eat". This has had a lasting effect on their general psyche, and is why everything is focused on him. I don't believe he is the best way forward however, so I hope that something can be done with those earlier plans of bringing the former PMs together to work as mediators and facilitators for something new out of this.

Grrrr,if I again hear "populist policies" I am gonna throw up.

I SAY! taxins populist policies were not an inch apart from Herr'n Adolf Schicklgruber aka Hitler.

he (H..)promised the Volk the blue from the sky,

sure he gave them work and food and shelter,BUT they had to vote for him and listen to his 3-5 hour long sermons, then it was a bit different,80 % of the population was starving because of the seablockade by brittain(not sooo great then).

Now the Thais are blessed with plenty of everything,if they only not had become soo greedy and ask for more and more.

They slaughtered the buffalos and ate steak and barbecue for weeks, that was the golden goose.

Now they have the Iron Buffalo and they cannot eat that one.

We here have (poor farmers) driving pickup trucks to their rice paddys, and chatting with mia noi on the cellphone.

That all costs money, the sly fox in red (I never see Taxin wearing a red garb, maybe he hates the color)

promised all and sundry all the money they need if ONLY they vote for him

    [/qoute]

  5. They aren't celebrating, obviously. They are protesting the idea that a violent criminal mob (a tiny minority of the nation) can force down a legally elected government. Even more galling, this mob refuses to negotiate at all.

and are thiefing water, electricity and flush their effluent and cooking wasrte etc down the city sewers, just wait for a outbreak of cholera or worse,

maybe they are used to that asocial behaviour at home, where they come from, certainly not a academic friend of one of our members among them??

  6. Far more impressive, noble and respectable than the yellow shirts who are rich and from next door.

Anyway, more and more Bangkokians become Reds in the sois (at least in my Chatuchak area).

    bulls..

the yellow's didnt shoot and kill, would not have tolerated hired murders among them at a demonstration site,

    Slumdogs ...,have seen the movie

  7. Hi.

So IF he dissolves parliament and calls snap elections, what will happen? The reds/PTP likely win. And then? Cue "PAD"..... Bangkok's streets will be filled with yellows and the whole circus starts from zero.

My guess is that a good many of the reds will go home, hand the red t-shirts to their wives for laundry, grab the yellow t-shirts from the cabinet and head back to Bangkok - "professional protester" at 200 Baht per day sure beats farming, no? And it doesn't matter who they protest against as long as they get paid to do it (same with vote buying, they don't give a hoot who they vote for as long as they get paid for it).

If it happens like i just wrote, i hope the yellows remember where they got their success from last time and head straight for those two locations. Saves time and lives. And once THEY win obviously it will be time to change the t-shirts once again, so prepare, Bangkokians, for mob rule over the next few years.

Or..... something involving tanks and guys in uniform happens, THEN we can have peace. Looks like pretty much the only way to have peace.

    Best regards.....

    Thanh

Quote,i'll sell turncoat shirts yellow to red and reverse,

saves the going home for the mob.

    alles klar?

  8. Abisit should come out and explain why he escalated the use of force and censorship against the redshirts peacefull gathering, and why he then chose to send in the armed troops.Specifically Colonel Rambo's squad, who had previous against the reds.

Then he should prone himself at the feet of the deceased redshirts families and beg forgiveness.

    Then he should be tried.

a dead fish starts stinking from his head first, especially a bucket full,

    beg forgiveness my foot

  9. Let's chill a little bit. Get some facts then this discussion can move on.

Reds are innocent. This group are purely citizens.

Red- allied Militia are not. Who are they ? Pretty much every group that doesn't get along with current gov.

Thai army today is deeply divided. No surprise if some join Reds. They will not disclose themself though.

Left-wing Reds sent signal so strong that they will not back off easily.

M79 ( bomb ) did drop straight to generals, high rank officers. They were severely injured. Most of them leaded operation crushing Reds last Apr.

This is the main reason why abhisit-elite army retreated.

What you see if just the beginning of war.

There is so much at stake to win or lose.

    Expect more bombs.

    .....

We expect it will not be the war. Anupong has just says: it is a politic issue and Army will not interfere. He has called for dissolution of parliament.

it is a good point than Army sidelines itself. It reduces a little the tension.

I hope than in the revision of the Charter Army will be discharged of Civil Affairs, an anti Riot Force created, I do expect they have learnt the lesson.

However the situation is not yet over. Abhisit has to resign and let a Government of National Unity operates the period up to Elections. If not the Campaign is going to be a butchery between Yellow and Red Shirts.

Think ahead for the PEACE and no more for bombings.

    let them slug it out,

    once and for all,

    war and piss

  10. That's what happens when you illegally accept a donation of B29 Million from a single entity, in this case TPI Poline.

    Them's the rules folks.

    smartelexess et al,

if you had time to read the full story at TPI Polene.com,Then you would be enlightened.

Its just a start in court and can stretch a year or more, passing the hot potatoe from one agency to another.

That case of (shady distribution of money) paid by TPI Polene -Prachai Leophaitana the founder of TPI and later CEO of TPI Polene.

I guess the money was paid to let the sacked CEO off the hook.

Alleged the money was paid for a advertising company for ads in the south:

the companys name :Messiah Business and Creation Co.

    The shareholders...??

    Maybe the Lords own company??

Was a case of one hand washing the other.

  11. Truly a pious and religious man.

Is that picture out in the general media?

If not, I would think long and hard about publishing it.

Hola,I scrutinised the shown pix with a ak47 in his hand,he wears a Ninja bacaclava such as a SWAT team does,do you notice the army fatiques(camoflage) under his black shirt.

How did the red bystander know that sniper isnt taking out their leader??

must have been some communication between them.

Arrest the shown bystander, and charge them with high treason ,and courtmartial them ,and find out what they know. They will sing like a canary.

  12. its interesting reading over on the other paper we cannot quote on here

headed ''Slain camerman may have caught 'third hand' killers''

    google it

the intimation seems to be that the cameraman may have been shot by the men in black

Though it's *all* speculation, I assumed the Japanese cameraman must have been targeted.

More speculation (admittedly far out). I have been wondering who would have taken the picture published at the top of the page? If you look at the shadow of the gun barrel on the other guy's red shirt, it is well below the gun barrel, meaning the picture was taken at very close range, probably by an expensive camera with a separate flash attachment.

How is the guy who took the picture still alive, if the picture is what it is insinuated to be?

Where is the Japanese cameraman's camera?

Questions or trying to connect the dots, nothing more.

assuming ,the Japanese cameraman had a video camera and transmitting live to where.

The japs are such cowards, they sell their grandmother and grandfather, just not to rock the boat, and loose profitable contracts and help that Thailand is sucked of every yen they can lay a hand on.

Maybe the gunman was a jakucha, face certainly is not Thai.

  13. with 3 hospitals not taking any more injured, because of the lack of space, there are more than 500 injured, and there will be many more deaths of those already injured

not beeing cynical(or maybe yes),some of the dying ,or in need of bloodtransfusion gave their own blood to be spilled on someones house in spite of all believes Not to do so.Now thereis not enough blood for the wounded about.

The spirits/ghosts are loose, they are now more bloodthirsty then ever.

cant help to say,SOM NA NA

  14. After 1 month of peaceful protesting this was bound to happen, something better happen soon before it gets worse.

    peaceful?

    Arisman invading the EC commission

    Arisman invading parliament

oh shit sorry, those were fake reds............

Arisman and other leaders of the red movement are either communists and /or Muslims from the south of Thailand,

    as the names imply's ,

    and the violent ways,

says a lot about the arms used (and the way),by the destructors,

    Gottcha.

  15. This Thread should not have been opened as it is in Contradiction with the aim of what the Nation has written in "our darkest day".

Yesterday morning, before any incident, I have underlined that Army should stay in its barracks because Army is a symbol of National Unity and should not be used against any fellow citizen- only reserved to external threats.

Young soldiers with several rounds of rubber and some (for warning) live ones, can confuse easily in the heat of a battle. Once everything begins to degenerate, everybody is warming up and the situatiion is escalading on both sides.

The decision to engage army (reluctant initially to be involved) is the key to this tragic saturday.

People engaged in a battle are loosing restraints it is well known: this kind of situation nearly always is degenerating.

The real responsability belongs to those who have created the situation, not to the fighters.

ARMY should have never been involved in this action.

I totally disagree with your opinion

The ARMY had to be engaged

I follow with the disagreement. If this country would have a police force NOT only preoccupied with lining their pockets all the time, and do the job they are hired for,THEN,nothing of that sort of mayhem would ever happened.

The spark in the haystack should have been extinguished from day one on,screw the international opinion, tell the so-called investors who are Punters in the worst form,to take their money and ill-intend some-where else.

    "Welcome to the Casino Thailand"

to the call Not to employ the Army now, should we also use the Monks, cripples, children , old man and woman as human shields?

  16. I just wish the foreign media could focus on HOW much the elected government have tried to handle the situation. They have AGREED to new election within 9 mounts!!! Go home poor, uneducated farmers and dont let you be fooled by greedy politicians or even killed by YOUR protectors!!

Kidnapping and threats that PM must do this and that is not tolerable in ANY country. Where are the special police forces???

Its about time to scrap the rubber bullets and make a message!

there are not many of rural folks out there anyway. Those you see are families and friends, friends of friends of red shirt leaders and of course Thaksin's private hired army as well as hired organized motorcycle taxis. That's it.

    SLUMDOGS...anybody?

  17. These thugs simply seem to believe they are above the law, acts like this make the perpetrators nothing more than terrorists.

No different from the yellow shirts, they closed the airport and caused untold damage to the country! The army and the police are a joke!

Hey enough of this yellow shirt crap already. I really doubt that anyone here supported or condones the take over of the airport.

That does not make what the reds are doing right. It was wrong then, it is wrong now !! It needs to be dealt with before it gets even worse.

A message needs to be sent that this type of action will not be tolerated by the reds, yellows or who ever tries to hold a city for their own benefit.

Sadly I have been following these blogs for several days and although I have seen several posts that were written with wisdom and good intentions, they have fallen on deaf ears and are followed up by completely ignorant comments and/or total lies.

I hope I am wrong but it now seems we will only have a couple of possible outcomes. 1) the government crumbles to the requests of the mob and sends the message that any group that is well funded can organize and control the government for their own interests. 2) The military moves in and disperses the mobs and restores order to the majority of citizens and holds elections as promised in 9 months.

If #1 is chosen then thailand will see blood on the streets year after year. If #2 is chosen Thailand will see blood on the streets now but will show that this type of lynch mob mentality will not be tolerated as would happen in any developed country.

Either way we will have sad days ahead. Peace

    Do I hear democracy???

    Do I hear social responsibility??

    Do I hear developed country??

None of the above is applicable now or ever was in Thailand and never will be.

This is a feudal state with all the dressings.

Now the poor buggers are fed -up with beeing exploited.

SAY SO you morons, and dont push any of the SOB agendas in the forefront.eg,dissolving parliament, electrician now etc.

6 million baht for every tambon/village,next.

The last time I guess not even 20 % of the depts-loans were repaid, thank you Papa Taxin said the farmer,

my loyalty is forever with you, forgive my dept and my vote and the one man one vote of 15 million farmers will help you to become prime minister again.(maybe in the 4th estate)

should read: dissolving parliament, election(not electrician,no pun intended)

    Monks are joining the fry.

A lot of social problems around the world are created or caused by clerics/religions of any kind.

I say GO HOME to your temple or dungeon wher you are stemming from.

The church or temple or mosque have not to participate in such a amoral outbreak of insanity.

  19. These thugs simply seem to believe they are above the law, acts like this make the perpetrators nothing more than terrorists.

    I (i) call aspade a spade.

Have posted my opinion previously that sooner or later a lot of the Reds arte gonna be branded TERRORISTS.

Bush and now Obama did and are fighting a war against terrorists around the world.

    US army welcome here.

  20. I am a foreigner living in Thailand now for more than 20 years. I have my opinions about this and many other situations here in Thailand , and I feel free to express them...... WITHIN my circle of friends and accquantainces, but not on a stage in a public rally. That is not my place.

We foreigners are GUESTS in this country. Any foreigner who publically protests at a open rally, such as is going on in BKK now, is trying to upset/overthrow the government and should be escorted to the airport and deported immediately.

People should know better, when to open and when to keep their mouths closed and opinions to themselves. There are places to express your opinions, but on stage or at a public rally is definitely not one of them.

Immigration, pick them up and show them the door.

Apparently the Thai wife [some of whom can become very rabid with their opinions] have them by the short and curlies. The effect is that these foreigners are not thinking , but reacting with the wrong head.

My opinion is foreigners open you mouth in protest, close the door to this country that we all love as guests in a beautiful place.

    OMHO

a bit too big to swallow,

maybe the Thai visa Forum is doomed as most ranter and complainer and insulter will ALL get rounded up and deported(maybe to Cambodia).

Freedom of speech and actually participating in a RIOT/Rebellion/Revolution ,is another pair of shoes.

  21. "If anything, the firing of that tear gas is what provoked them to push through and break through the lines into the building." Reported by BBC (neutral enough?).

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/8610740.stm

Correct me if I'm wrong please, but it was reported here that the tear gas came on the heels of molotov coctails being thrown from the crowd of protesters? Was that information incorrect?

    pictures anybody,or video clip??

I thought Palestine is in the Middle East!

    Molotov coctails?

I dont think the reds know how to make and use the real thing, good so.

When is the press etc, starting to call the protesters"terrorists" ???
