  1. have planted tomatoes from the local seed store,a variety which is big, round ,red and fleshy, according to the pix,and description on the sachet.

Now after 2 months growt, the tomatoes just dont ripe, some fall of the branches but still a lot are just hanging on.

What can cause such a odd growt?

The other planted tomatoes are ripened (and eaten ) already, the seed from another source, the soil about the same, watering, fertilizer about the same(very little EM)

I did not try to eat the yellow tomatoes, why?,just dont know.

Could it be that they degenerated,in Italy tomatoes are called Pomadoro, yellow apples,or gold apples??

I have posted previously that Tomatoes and Potatoes come from the same family, amazing isnt it

  2. International observers, maybe from other ASEAN nations could calm tensions and bring all sides to the negotiating table, but will the current powers that be accept this?

Only a few days ago, FM Kasit ruled out 'foreign involvement' in this crisis and Deputy PM Suthep refused an offer of UN assistance in 'The South' last year.

It was made known, a long time ago, that ASEAN has a policy of "not interferring in other members internal affairs".How convenient.Singapore is making his opposition bankrupt in order to disable them for election campaign's,the Phillipines just shoots them,in Malaisia they land in jail etc.etc.

    Beside Asia is for Asian's.

That would be like to say,I watch ,if you kill each other.

    International observers,a joke.

We have enough girls here to be "embedded with troops".

Maybe the UN will send observer troops, and at the first shot fired, sendt home as elsewhere in the world.

Another few attacks on US property,Mc Donald's, KFC, a odd bank and the place will swarm with SEAL,SWAT,CIA,and other teams, and mop-up the place.

  3. I am supprised there are so many still comming to Thailand "Rubber neckers" :)

I think we have to be quite about the fact tourist still go to south and enjoy the beaches. Because if the Red figure this out they will also try to destroy south tourism how small it is.

    They just hate Thailand

B'cose they are from Isarn,in their own words Lao,they love to drink Lao Khao (moonshine).

Maybe it would be a good idea to seperate the whole Isarn and rejoin them with Laos, as it was a while ago,did you know that? Now U know!

  4. really ? what a surprise ...

I guess some more businesses that depends on tourism will be RIP soon(er than a bit later)

what will be the incentive to come here with your family and possibly get killed by accident ?

come here and see the red ...???

and phuket maffia scammers must be rubbing their hands now... more people to scam with taxi, ...

following thai logic : prices in hotels and restaurants will increase (for farang only...)

I can already hear them think (kinda tick, tock) : farang, you pay more, for security

    I do not hear right??

This is the LOW season and the world is in the worst recession since the birth of JC.

There is every year a downturn of tourists in the second quarter.

70% of tourist come here because of sex, either participate or oogle or enjoy the atmosphere.

Those tourist come here come rain or snow, or hail(of bullets).

Tourism with all the Shabang counts for 30 % of GNP

Agriculture for another 30%,protesting in the streets and storming Hospitals 30 %,the rest is done by beggars in the street

  5. Jatuporn Prompan, a key leader of the United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD), told journalists that ranking UDD leaders were trying to contact and apologise to the hospital's senior officials after a group of UDD protesters stormed the hospital Thursday night on suspicious that armed soldiers were staying inside the hospital building and prepared to disperse the protesters.

The goverment was using the evacuation as a ploy to make the protesters look bad, Mr Jatuporn complained, and the public now has bad feellings against the Red Shirt protesters.

What a load of total crock! The reds leaders lied to the hospital to begin with. Five means five, not 100-200 rampaging thugs. The hospital administration owes nothing to a bunch of proven liars. Good for them for not accepting anything from any UDD member.

Make the "protesters" look bad? Jatuporn, et al., have done a wonderful job doing that themselves.

How much further down will these imbeciles go? Blaming the victims now. I am amazed the number of people who still believe, trust, and support them.

the Reds leadership must stop giving free Ja Baa to the protesters, only if you are either drunk or high on gasoline or Ya Baa etc ,then you loose your inhibition.

Storming into a Hospital with ill intend, disturbing the peace, trespassing, threatening staff and patience are reason's enough to issue a arrest warrant for the perpetrators, just dont give me the crap,as "we dont know who it was,the police/army has photographer with still cameras and videos.

The more I read and hear from friends ,on-site ,the more I think that the government officials and the protestleaders alike responsible for the fiasko, should be summongly shot with the same gun ,Rubber bullets only, sorry mistake made.

    Here something ,not so serious.

Then we create the United Thai Sex Party with Patpong as the Party headquarter and the mamasan of the pink pussycat as PM,sorry, joking has no place here but tears can be overcome with laugh, which is the matter right now.

The next time the red "Chingis Khan Hordes" enter a hospital etc, they will find a (fake) staff armed with syringes

/dart's, laced with cyanide, teaches them the last lesson.

    Seems I lost my bearings..

Same as in Vietnam, the GI's were given something to make them endure more and loose the natural fear of combat,I just dont remember what it was,LSD or something like that, can you think of what it was?

The right move to shut down Chula, otherwise the staff/patients could have endes as hostages.

    I emphasise again,no more mercy.

I live in Pattaya and the general public is turning now away from the reds, same goes ,when the reds return to their villages they will be met with scorn, and abused/shamed because of all the bad things they did in Bangkok.

  6. Speaking of blunders in the news and what those crazies are continually demonstrating in

their over-extreme behavior, I would not be surprised to read tomorrows headline as:

"Informant Leads Military to Storm KFC in Search of Alleged Red-Shirt Leader, Col. Sanders"

Former member of the Thai Police, Col. Sanders was forced to resign from his post as a member of parliament after appearing on a TV cooking show where he demonstrated his recipe for fried chicken using 11 herbs and spices.

Col. Sanders was implicated in the scandal which saw millions of chickens culled during the bird flu outbreaks of 2004. It is claimed that he ordered his troops to open fire on flocks of chickens containing chicks. More recently he has been linked with gambling dens featuring underground cock fighting.

Red shirt sympathizer Col Sanders has been linked to plans to overthrow the current government by means of a military chicken coup.

    Thats my boy,

last not least, a member with homour(Humor).

I like myself to pull some legs, only to be misquoted and banned for 3 days to spread some drivel, nothing wrong with that.

    Here some of it.

Now I hear "Red Adair " has changed his name to "Green Adair"

"Red Bull" has been removed from the shelvel as it might contain red's blood,

has been renamed blue angel p...s,

"Red Beer" is;t served anymore in Patpong,

My friend "REd" has dyed his hair gray(his natural colour) is a old fart, going on 38,

The police force has now a new colour for thier cars "Yellow "as in chicken, not the yellow protester's,

The firebrigades have a new colour for their engines, white with a ...dont know

  7. This must be a sign of the red shirt terrosts retreat. They will bomb and pilage everything as they leave, leaving no food supplies behind them.

I've been in Kuwait in 91/92,(working),seen the Highway of Death.

Seen Kuwait/Suburbs destroyed by retreating Iraqyis, looting pillaging everything in sight.

Now history repeats itself in Bangkok, only the retreating marauders must be tought a lesson:

reminds me of the US and Allied pilots sayin,"its fun", like shooting fish in a barrel, remember??!!

Solve your problems the legal way and...

    never come back;

    never do such bad things again;

    never kill again;

never approach or enter a hospital in vain, you might end up in the morgue of same

    another thing,

since 80-90 % of protesters are from the central and northeast of Thailand, why dont you take your bamboo sticks, slingshots and car/trucktires and make a bonfire and jump into it,Sanuk Lah?

I have'nt seen an Thai/Indian,Chinese/Thai etc among the "Protesters cum Hooligans, because they are decent poeple and respect the law.

  8. IMHO, the Foreign Embassies taking into account the stubborness of both sides, the escalation in provocations, the fact that more and more leaders are outlawed pushing them toward the extreme, the absence of dialog, the police and Army obviously split, have raised the level of ban/warning for travelling to Thailand.

A major incident can inflame the Country into Civil war. We are no more in the rationale, Passions are taking over. Dr Tul has taken the wise decision avoiding a local conflict which may have degenerated into a major incident.

On the long term, we must think also to the current parliamentary system which is conducting to series of coup/crisis. The Parliamentary system is based on the Anglo/saxon model and is maybe not so well adapted for the Thai disposition. France after nearly a Century of turbulences, has decided to move to another system in 1958 because the parliamentary system is not adapted to the French disposition.

Constitutional lawyers should try to find other ways. Democracy is not only a parliamentary system; It is obvious that, respecting the Monarchy, new ways have to be explored and the current constitution will have to be reconsidered. For Anglo-saxons people who know only one system, respecting democracy can be done by other ways; for example a parliamentary system may be be balanced with direct elections. I just throw the idea on the table to open the discussion: why not a PM directly elected?

    R U kidding????

    PM directly elected?!

    Taksin PM tomorrow,yessir.

    No way.

Not that I fancy that,BUT with all that wishi washi going on ,and throwing sand in the eyes of the humble populace,of any color.

If a person cannot travel freely (Doctor Tul to Khon Khaen) to attend a meeting, then its time to send the troops in.

Should open the opulent 5/6 star hotels near the protest sides, for 3 nights for the demonstrators to rest(free of charge with american breakfast), then ask them to go home to their reedgrass -thached -adobes,and tell the volk how rich poeple live.

Also the first class shopping malls can open a "After-Rally sale" with 80% discounts on soap and towels and aftershave, and other toiletrys, things like that are needed badly.

  9. Apology ? thats not an apology . now on top of all that chaos the hospital is moving 250 ill Thai's.

apology from dr, Wank, what a farce!

The same minnon (of taksin) who ordered the bloodletting/collection and spilling of it on state propertys..

The time will come soon when somebody blows his brain out and then exclain,Sorry,my Apology,I thoughtthat were rubber bullets,

That "Doctor" is maybe a veterinarin ,and cures pigs.

  10. yesterday in parliament session, Chalerm said it was pointless to grill Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva as "he led the only democratic government in the world tainted by bloodshed".

i thought the reds said the government weren't DEMOCRATIC??

now Phua Thai MP Chalerm says they are??

wasn't that democracy thing something that the reds were fighting for ?

now Chalerm says they already have it?

is it time for the reds to to go home then?

oh sorry, for a moment, i forgot that the red version of democracy is much different to the regular version of democracy

Glad to know that Chalerm and his murderous sons have clean hands!

Poeples Democratic Republic of China is democratic ,oh ,yes but a homegrown version,so was the DDR,(Deutsche DemoKratische Republik) . They virtuelly took over/continued the system of Hitler,Stasi,HJ,Volksbund,etc.etc.in the name of Democracy,,,,,,,.

Hitlers Germany was a National Socialist Republic.

Now, what kind of Democracy would that scumbag family Chalerm have in mind.

There is a saying, the apple is not falling far from the tree (or like that).I would say like son-like father.

That slain policeman on duty in that discotheque in Bangkok committed suicide in front of 200 patrons. The guy did the dissapearing act in Malaysia for 3 months, in order not to be traced with cardite from the gunshot.

    Nice politician has Thailand eh?

  11. The reds have no business inspecting hospitals. I hope they didn't bring guards infected with H1n1 to do it. Soldiers don't need to hide in the hospital, they are all over downtown openly. How long do we have to put up with reds intimidating doctors, business people, politicians and anyone who dares to walk down a street or drive on a highway? They do not represent all of Thailand, and no one has appointed them to inspect anything. I'm tired of their self righteous attitude and their total disrespect for their fellow citizens. Time they went home, were sent home, or were put in prison.

    OR PUT DOWN!

    Correction,

means Down Under, where they can roam freely with wild animals ,as they are.

somwe members call me a Bitter Man,YESSIR, I am pure battery acid now,why nobody set a torch to the junkpile.

Now the Reds are $ sure Outlaws, should be denied citizen rights, together with their Butchere of Bangkok T.

$ the leaders of the e-xcons on the steet, motorcycle drivers etc. order shot on sight.

  12. By not wearing red, the have a better chance of escaping and mingling with non-protesters. This will limit the Governments options for a crackdown...

    1. A crackdown can only be done, after telling all non-protesters to leave the area and giving them time to do so.

    2. A crackdown, will most likely have to be conducted at night, when the malls are closed, so protesters can't run into the malls and mix with regular citizens.

    3. The Government may we wise now, to order a curfew, then cracking down on the protesters, a few hours after the curfew starts. That way, nobody, besides the protesters, have any business being there and they will get the right people, regardless of what color shirt, pants or bra they happen to wear, at the time :)

Then again, this will cause a problem outside of Bangkok, because it gives protesters a chance to gather undetected, until it is too late. From a Red perspective, definitely a clever move.

Distorting facts is really somebodys pastime.

The security forces have certainly identified most the protesters/cum terrorists in the street,by filming/taking pix's of the come and go of poeples and the security guards cum henchmans for them.

Having identified its not far from the proverbal knock on the door at night and the consequences arising from that.

The immigrantin from Issan to Bangkok is not legal anyway, as nobody is registered there as requested by the law.

    Clever move my foot,

I can spot a terrorist/cum protester from a mile.Just by observing that they are near the protestsite, inside the barricades.

Fence all in and starve them, shut down all fastfood joints as they aid and abet the ongoing Saga, and make money on the sly from the misery..

Now, since when is Ammnesty International the mouthpiece of the USA State Department, and tells that Thailand cannot use weapons made in USA against protesters/or mingled terrorist amongs them.

Did anybody tell israel not to use US made ammonition/ordance etc agains the Palestine poeple,NO,I did not hear that yet.

    Double/ triple standard that is.

Gather undetected until it is too late, for what?Criminal intend is that all, the REds lost their idendity, now no more "Red" movement, they lost their case. Now they are gone underground and have to be fought with all the consequences.

There is a police force in Thailand,if they cannot do their job ,than create leauw- leauw a national guard.

They will do what been told regardless.

Soon it will become a Stigma to stay/live in Thailand, already have mails such as .. move your butt from friends at home, before its too late.

  13. By not wearing red, the have a better chance of escaping and mingling with non-protesters. This will limit the Governments options for a crackdown...

I dont think this will change things much... Theres still a group of people cauising shit,so as you mention in point 1 its still easy to identify who they are...

The big problem is how to do that crackdown on the main protest site without significant loss of life... I have an idea where you just get highly fortified water cannons with dirty big earth moving buckets on the front and drive a path through the blockade... Get 6 of those bastards driving through and it will clear the roads at least...

Its gotta be better then having a few troops shooting rubber bullets and being shot at in the process...

not eally a new idea,it's been done in Gaza/in Israel since long time.

They have a VERRY effective way to punish the perpetrators, identify some and then go to their houses and bulldoze them wherever that would be.

Any objection to that will be answered with a hail of live bullets.

But not here in civilized Thailand, the land of grins not smiles, that would be drastic, protesting is SANUK,beeng high on Ya Ba, so is killing poeples in some dumbass mind's.

I (i ) have abetter idea and should get the Nobel Peace Prize for it.

Rats are best catched and terminated by FLUSHING them out of their liars.

Sandbag the whole protest area on all ends with sandbags or 100 truckloads of earth or concrete if thats better and flush them out with firehydrant water etc.

See how they can swim, make a warning with loudspeakers (also in Burmese,Laotian,Malay),so to enable the kids, grannys and halfwitted Volk can go home before the GRAET DELUDgE.

  14. Big Jiew comes out swinging. But hits nothing...

But all American's keep getting bashed for some reason.

Chavalit took the reigns of PTP

PTP along with Thaksin controls the redshirts

The redshirts are breaking many laws and confronting citizens in their daily lives,

Redshirts and PTP MP's all conspire to bring down the government.

The only PTP legitlative actions in a year have been signally unsucessful attempts

    to bring down the government.

This is just an extra legal means to try the same thing.

Chavalit can't sue and can't do more than throw counter accusations,

because taking this to court would expose him further.

    Well said, sir. :)

Big Jew has a short memory,I forgive him because he is already senile.

What happened during his tenure as PM,atrocities etc.corruption etc.

Why did he got booted out?

    YOU tell me.

  15. dam_n right it's up my street TT another organic possibility to pursue !! Maybe this one's the "holy grail" :) !! Maybe not but definitely worth exploring !! I've previously posted about rice husk charcoal and this looks along the same lines. Sorry if you find my stuff over technical I do try to post stuff that is easy to understand for a lay person as it were after all I'm one myself !! It's just my inquiring mind, I like to know the science behind the methodology and its the only way you can hold your own in an informed debate with conventional farmers and sceptics when it comes to organics, they need hard facts and science not "happy horseshit" as one poster so eloquently put it. Having said that I'm certainly not out to try and convert people, need my energy for other things and certainly don't feel I hold the moral highground. Each to their own afterall and as long as they dont pollute my land with their nasty chems good luck to them !! I reckon if many felt there was a financially viable way to convert they would !! Well where theres a will there's a way !! I'll just keep on posting and let people take from it what they will :D !!

    cheers fella Jandtaa

    hi green thumb,

just can you tell me why farmers, especially thai's, burn their rice field after harvesting(und drying the straw)??

I think its pretty wastful organic matters.

The burnt husk/straw has no value to the soil,as it is superficial,If tilted in the ground immediately, yes would make some sense,

Biochar is not burning straw ,agreed.

There is a kiln ,making small bricks in my town, from them I get loads of burnt rice husk.

I spread it around my lemon/orange/mango trees and also to my bananas,

Then I soak the (charcoaled husk with my homemade EM and cover with rice straw.

It takes time to convert the biofertilizer into something useful, but the blackstuff shows sign of green matters after a while, but need to be kept wet.

  16. The so called "terrorists" are demanding for an Independent Investigation into April 10th.

PTP party have called on the UN for an Independent Investigation.

The government refuses for an Independent Investigation.

Why not get the UN in to investigate as happened say in the Bhutto murder in Pakistan ? Why does Abhisit and his cohorts refuse ?

Well, I think most people around the world can guess.

I know of a very good Shrink

  17. The fact that they have to resort to 'top troops' from three branches of the military suggests that they cannot depend on the rank and file soldiers in the rest of the military-

    off course not.

    Conscripts from Red villages,cannot be trusted.Special op"s require special forces,SEAL, SAS,SWAT,etc.

Never heard from shot on the spot if not obeying orders from CO.s in comabat.

  18. Abhisit has made a complete and utter fool of himself.

The danger is that his refusal to hold an election for fear of getting voted out may result in a split in the army with potentially disatrous consequences.

He is very stubborn , i would agree with you . It is sad , result may be civil war , and army mutinies . And the guy owes his job to a military coup to start with .

You got it. In order to cling on to his unelected position, Abhisit is willing to risk splitting the army, which could easily lead to a civil war.

And we should recall that Abhisit's original justification for his unelected grabbing of power was that two people had been killed in the street fighting. He promised reconciliation.

Now that over 20 people have died in exactly the same circumstances, we hear nothing from Abhisit as he cowers in his hole.

He is nothing more than a self-serving hypocrite.

all above is correct, the last 2 paragraphs are vague,I think the name has to be changed from Abchit,to Taksin, agered?

  19. I think it's only a matter of time before Foreign Governments put the Red Shirts on the Terrorist list.

I hope they do so, just so the people watching the news understand that these terrorists are not supported by 99.9% of the population here.

They give Thailand a bad image pretending to be a massive protest while they are just criminals on the run. They have hurt the country and it's reputation very badly.

Anyone associated by any means with them should also be jailed, for supporting a Terrorist Organization.

You have been reading too much propaganda. The word terrorists is being used to justify action from the incredibly inept government that may result in more death and injury.

The reds had held many cards until recently and had made their point and should have packed up a couple of weeks ago at least and started preparing for elections for which they had a huge amount of support- even from people in Bangkok and the south. That is now rapidly disappearing and the hardcore element remaining in the protest are the dangerous ones,a reduced numbers of protesters but now a powder keg.

This should, and could have been resolved weeks ago, now all factions are equally to blame for a highly volatile situation that is threatening to go countrywide.

A very sad time for the Land of No More Smiles that requires positive leadership and cool heads from all sides not the current rhetoric that is generally inflammatory. :)

    What is their point?

    - help the poor. How have they done that so far? How are they going to do that in the future?

    - democracy. They are showing what they think of democracy by forcing an elected government into elections.

    - corruption. The corruption in the villages is what is keeping the poor down. And there leader ... corrupt while PM.

    - elite. Change one elite with a different elite.

    - elections. So they can get caught buying votes again. And then get a minority of votes again. And try and form a coalition with parties that are not supporting them now.

    Did I miss anything?

the corruption in the villages is keeping the poor down

I strongly agree ,that this is a grave and serious matter, never been adressed by any government (or the protesters of any color)

take the lease of a rice paddy of any size,

the sharecropper plows, tends the field, plant the rice, irrigates it fertilizes it,harvest it,and has to give 50% of the harvest to the (middleman) or owner of the field.

Then he has to pay back to the bank the money borrowed to pay all above with high interest, leaves him next to nil.

  20. The PM listened and offered elections in 9 months from Now which was very fair. If the minority red shirt protestors had just accepted it. It would have been over last month.

But NO that was not good enough they must have elections within days. Well that's not quite how it works in politics and the agreement for elections in 9 months was fair.

Got to the live ammunition stage now. Well "Som Num Na"

    Democracy

what the majority of Thai people want

Red shirts we want it, and want it now, they rest of you, who cares

    please sir another $1000 baht

I'll got it. make Edith Clampton PM and Charlie Brown from Pattaya defence minister

  21. rumor has it Thaksin has cancer and he might be dead by then, so he is probably enforcing the 15 days deadline.

That might be a counter rumour to the rumour about somebody being in a coma.

regardless, seems highly unlikely to me. What a bloody waste of time!

his airplane registration number is now known to us,also the pilot and co-pilot's name.

Beware that there are other planes are flying around the world.

    fasten your seatbelts please.

  22. Thako proxy party seats won: 233

    dem seats won: 165

so how many voted for his party after the Coup??

    Nobody voted...

well maybe 280 people did. I'm not sure. :D

Actually, now that you mention it.. The post coup elections played out like this for party list MP's given a total of 480 seats in the Lower House. Which BTW is who votes for the PM, and NOT the people. Oh and another thing, ALL the current MP's were voted for BY THE PEOPLE to be their representation.

    Anyway, it breaks down like this;

PPP 310 (Samak) (PPP had NO stand alone majority or if they did why did they form a 6 party coalition)

    Democrat Party 165 (Abhisit)

    *5 MP's votes unaccounted for*

    After Samak was axed for the "cooking show fiasco" the MP's voted like this for PPP's Somchai;

PPP 298 (Somchai) (AGAIN PPP had NO stand alone majority as a party but formed a 5 party coalition)

    Democrat Party 163 (Abhisit)

    *19 MP's votes unaccounted for*

After Somchai was axed Chaovarat became caretaker PM, as he was the "last man standing" (even though the constitution stipulates that the Prime Minister must be a member of the House of Representatives, and sadly Chaovarat was not. ..)

Then there was the FLIP of banned politician Newin Chidchob and his "Friends of Newin" group who defected from the Redz. The MPs that flipped came from various and sundry political parties but it is interesting to note they also came from the For Thais Party (Puea Thai, the successor of the PPP), the former Chart Thai Party, the Thais United National Development Party, the Neutral Democratic Party, and the infamous "Friends of Newin" faction of the former Peoples Power Party sided with the Demz. Those 32 MP's which Newin controls are the linchpin to the whole equation which gave the Demz the majority in a vote of MP's which looked like this:

Democrat Party 235 (Abhisit) (Demz also had NO stand alone majority but formed a coalition with the Friends of Newin Group MP's)

    PTP 198 (Pracha Promnok)

    *47 MP's votes unaccounted for*

There could be and probably is a margin of error in the numbers as they obviously don't add up to 480 each time and a person might ask why didn't an MP vote for PM.. :)

I still can't find why 47 MP's votes in the last go round of voting in the Lower House are unaccounted for. It could be dubious googling, or bad information, but I found the numbers on a few internet sites. :D

That's the good bad and ugly of the Lower House voting which lead to where we are today boyz & gurls. :D

Carry on with your armchair political punditry <sic>, it's interesting to say the least. :D

ho comes that teh Thai contituition explictible states the any Member of parliament/Prime minister has to have a doctorate or be a academic.
