Ithink most posters on here live in gated Farang villages, and not aware that you can

in theory be taken "in"and explain why you have not employed a Thai painter, or a Car

wash, had a friend 'taken " from his bar for Meeting and greeting, ( shaking hands )

the solution was quite expensive, as I remember 50.000bht,...............

AAH , farang bashing again, without farangs/tourists / pensionists Thailand  would be very poor indeed ( financially at least)

a farang standing  on the  wrong side of the bar talking to customers  can be seen as promoting the  venture and that's work too, happens to a friend of mine who's wife owns the bar, he was pulled-in for questioning by the FUZZ

Great! I think the best way to teach the kids english is by letting them speak to foreigners.

But will travellers who stay there have to report the address to the police as their place of stay?

unless  the lady has a work permit as teacher and has an adress in Thailand  its unlawful  even to teach one kid to learn English outside  a  accredited  school, eccept it is  a relative ( of the Missus) sorry  state of......

A sign outside  of the Royal Thai Embassy in Vientienne  says: Beware of  Agents  doing visa applications on behalf of ... poeple

Quote; there is no such thing as  anybody can apply for a visa( for me)  accept that the person is incapable to  do it for himself ( in prison or in Hospital or is illicit) and  somebody has an affidavit  from me

I am not aware of any company making runs to the Thai consulate in Savannakhet.

Aran?Poi Pet is only a border crossing to Cambodia. There is no embassy or consulate there. You have to go the embassy in Phnom Penh.

AAh, slightly confused  I am, the way it is ? have to cross into Cambodia, stay a t a hotel/Guesthouse  submit  all  visa applications etc to an agent ( Lucky Lucky bicycle  shop Aran Poi Pet and  pay   50 USD and  wait 2-3 days  for the visa from Phnom Phen anybody done that?

The limit of 2 visa exempt entries at land border crossings per calendar went into effect on January 1st of this year. Perhaps you read something that was in the news in August of 2014.

Savannakhet is issuing visas not sure where you read that false info.

A "AGENT", travel agency told me so, they arranging  visa run tours to  Savannaketh/ Arun Po Pet

I must admit to be puzzled by your question. The "two per year" policy that I know of is for visa exempt entries by land. When you apply for tourist visas, each consulate has its own policies. In Savannakhet, you should be able to get three or four total (issued by them, and possibly Vientiane) in your current passport (regardless of when they were issued). Visa exempt entries (whether by land or by air) will not have any effect. As stated, elsewhere the policy may be different.

be  aware of the  (NEW) regulation  effective from August 2017 of border immigration imm.offices  refusing entry into Thailand when abusing the  Border visa  runs, zero tolerance  exept in special cases

Savannaketh is not issuing visas  its  Phnom Phen and a waiting time of  up to 2 days is required  according to other OP's

Proof of Where you be staying in Thailand was required when I did it.  This can be an online-booking, rental-contract, etc.

I stay with my daughter, she rented a apartment  near the university where she's  studying in her 4th year, the  administration of the  apartment block would not give her  a rental contract/copy for me  to show the immigration for my  non immigrant O extension, as the owner is  abroad and cannot be contacted/ now  should I rent another   place and pay for 2  residences?

has the wife to show up with me  when applying for the  marriage  visa  or  does   a copy of her ID card, acopy of her  tabian book  and  the marriage cert suffice?

They don't ask for the financial proof or tickets there.

why did they ask me for a police  clearance report and  a new  medical report  the last time I went there  in March 2017?

is it for a simple tourist visa single  entrance?

or just for a retirement non O immigrant visa? I was  sendt  away back to Thailand to obtain both .Now  I have the  reports, Maybe  I go back there to get a  new Non O visa

Use world remit. .a app to transfer money. I have given my wife total access to my accounts and pin numbers. She is a good girl. Something to think about getting incapacitated here. I wish you well and recover soon.

Lucky you that you have a honest wife and You trust her.

I did the same,  trust my wife  she took my credit card  at night and found my pin numbers and  cleared  out not only my bank-account but  took the registration books of the cars and  hocked  all, don't trust anybody inclusive yourself. The missus  is  surely eyeballing the 800000 baht security money for  the visas, its hers in any case

If you are married to a Thai then get a single or multiple entry non 'O' from the Thai Embassy or Consulates in the UK. It's easily obtained with a copy of your marriage certificate.

    1 year extension of stay,

    • You'll get 90 days on entry and can apply for a 1 year extension of stay within the last 30 (maybe 45) days.
    • You can apply for an extension based on being married or retirement (over 50).
    • You need to show a minimum income certified by the UK Embassy in Bangkok, or have money in a Thai bank, or a combination of the two (retirement only).

    Income method

    Married 40K

    Retirement 65K

    Bank method

    Married: 400K (2 months)

    Retirement: 800K (60 days)

If you don't want a 1 year extension of stay you could get a multiple entry non 'O'. It will be valid for entries for 1 year from the date it's issued.

    • You can enter as often as you want during that year.
    • You get 90 days on every entry.
    • You need to leave every 90 days, but can exit and immediately re-enter at most land border crossings, or by air.
    • You can apply for a 1 year extension of stay during any 90 day entry, OR a 60 day extension which doesn't require any income or money in the bank.

Zero as you can only get an O-A from your home country. The only exception to this is if your had been working and living overseas then the Thai Embassy in that country might issue an O-A. You can get a 90 day single entry O-visa based on retirement from Vientiane Lao if you can show the finical side of it then you could convert it over o a 12 months retirement extension in Thailand.

'Quote" financial side to show in Vientienne?  How much and for how long? Last time nobody asked me for  proof of a bank-account and  " seasoning" Sometime they ask for a police  clearance report and a new  medical report which I have now obtained but never needed

    1. How  can I get  the proof  of  residency without signing a  long term lease, maybe  only month by month rental would be accepted  by Pattaya/Jomtien  immigration?
    2. BTW  where is the  immigration office  actually located and is there  some hassle  when applying  for an  1month non O visa  extension (  special circumstances, must wait  until  July  to season  my bank-account), its the first extension therefore I need  to deposit the money only for 2 months?

OK, thanks, then that answers a previous post by another member in another topic, thought this was the case, just wasn't sure.

I am  at war-footing with my  spouse, I  want to visit my children again, does  their birth certificates  in Thai (copy) and their ID cards suffice to get a child visiting visa   for 60 days,

    has my wife to consent?

You can get a 60 day extension at immigration to visit your wife or child. They would have to be with you when you apply.

If married to a Thai you don't have to go to Australia to get a new visa. You can apply for it at the consulate in Savannakhet Laos with no financial proof.

how is the usual  route to go to Savannaketh?

just hope in the process of  getting a new passport  the  visa will get  stamped into he new  passport  and I ask  at that time for  an extension of it  or  ask for  more time to sort things out for the better, I read  somewhere  that  that procedure is done  frequently and  condoned  by the immigration offices

BTW I am having  problems to log-into Thai Visa forum  says< Error message access denied>  any other  member or guest  having difficulties too??

I manage  going through MSN.de site to log in in Chiang Mai  visa forum

The 60 day extension requires no financial proof. You will need your marriage certificate plus a copy, copies of your wife's house book registry and ID card. The fee is 1900 baht.

It is 30 days now. The 15 day rule was rescinded on January 1st when the 2 visa exempt entries per calendar year at land border crossing went into effect.

can I do the 60 days extension at the Chaeng Wattana Immigration office without proof of residency? Showing the marriage  certificate /original ,copy of  wifes house book  registry and copy of  wifes ID card=signed. Can I  then apply for a second time  for 60  days if needed?

I still have  the  Yellow Tabian Baan and  residency in Chiang Rai.

Does the Thai immigration in Savannaketh need proof  of  residency?

I still have the yellow Tabian Baan  from  my residency in Chiang Rai, can I update ( check the validity) of my yellow Tabian Baan  in any  Petchabaan office?

You got new 90 day entry not an extension.

You could apply for the 60 day extension fo visit your spouse at immigration.

I could apply for the 60 days extension, the immigration is not aware that I and the  wife  have  separated is it good  enough if I show  at application day the  Tabian Baan and signed ID card

I am not applying for a married visa

You mentioned  a 60 day extension in one of your posts please  refesh and post it again seems to have disappeared
