Again, why?  Why would an airline be announcing a police matter?  Just because he had a ticket on one of their planes?

So if Thai police arrest a murder suspect in a McDonald's in Bangkok (after a tip off by the Thai counter staff) you would expect Ronald himself to make the announcement in Chicago?

Again I cannot understand your logic, other than to remove any credit from Thais.

Airlines are obliged to report misdemeaning passengers to the police,BUT som banknotes are welcome.

Real german passports are burgundy in color, like all EU passports.Butcher job?? Some real smartalexes here in the forum, knows all better but realy knows JS, how do you know the coor of an Iranian passport, are you  an IS follower?

Thailand still plans for international tourists to return on Oct 1

Prepare for an influx of tourists by OCTOBER 2 2025, NOT BEFORE, WHEELCHAIRS ARE PROVIDED AT THE AIRPORT

October 1 has once again been proposed as the possible date for when foreign tourists will be able to return to Thailand without first needing to spend 14 days confined to a hotel room.

Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) governor Yuthasak Supasorn on Thursday said plans to allow foreign tourists to visit Phuket from October 1 were still on track, despite a lack clarity regarding the roll out of COVID-19 vaccinations in Thailand, particularly for those working in the tourism and hospitality industries.

The TAT is pushing for tourism workers to be included in the second round of inoculations, after the vaccine has been given to frontline healthcare workers and members of the public deemed most at risk from the virus.

And while the Thai government has announced plans to inoculate 1 million people by May and then 10 million people per month from June, it is not immediately clear where tourism workers stand in the vaccine rollout.

It also remains unclear if the proposal to allow tourists to visit Phuket will still go ahead if all of the Thai population have not been given the vaccine.

First revealed in August 2020, the proposal to open up Phuket to foreign tourists would essentially see the island turned into a huge travel bubble/quarantine zone.

Tourists would still need to quarantine on the island but would not be confined to a hotel room, as is the case currently. Travel to other parts of Thailand would be restricted until tourists have completed 14 days on the island.

The news comes as business leaders from Phuket’s tourism industry lobbied the government to reverse its decision to ban local administrations from sourcing COVID-19 vaccinations themselves.

Phuket had planned to purchase and distribute government approved vaccines to the locals on the island prior to opening up to foreign tourists on Oct 1 and in turn kickstarting the local economy, which depends  heavily on foreign tourism.

Officials in Pattaya also said they had also considered similar plans.

However, the government said on Tuesday that local administrations and private organisations are not permitted to purchase the vaccine independently.

Thailand is actually open to foreign tourists currently via the Special Tourist Visa program, Thailand Elite membership and visa exempt entry.

However, any foreigner who enters the country is required to quarantine for 14 days in a hotel, at their own expense.

Stats seen by Thaivisa earlier this week revealed that despite being open to tourists, very few have actually visited the country amid the ongoing pandemic.

In fact, around the same number of people have visited in the past six months than would normally have visited in a single day, pre COVID-19.

    Thank you, useful answer !

Can you PM me what shop ? I would like to see them just to sniff the leak, as I always prefer several diagnostics before fixing anything expensive.

If your car/house aircond is loosing its coolong capacity, possible it is just dirty, blocking the air-flow, in the condersor/ evaporator, find a shop to perform a good pressure cleaning w. water and check the refrigerant charge.Sometimes the compressor drive belt needs replacing every now and then.

I don’t expect you will be able to turn up at the airport and present a Covid vaccination certificate and board a flight to Thailand. Some hotels are making big bucks with ASQ. and will want some form of ‘compensation’ if quarantine ceases, they  will not make the shortfall up from returning tourists I don’t think as they won’t be returning in droves.

What WHO vaccine passport scheme? I can't find any evidence that WHO is working on such a scheme and that kind of thing isn't within their remit. Is the Thai government getting the WHO mixed up with the EU? I suppose they rhyme and such bumbling incompetence is to be expected from this government.

    hello,,

Car aircon is leaking and I do not want to let Somchai work the way he knows nothing.

I want the job done the correct way and I want that they use a gaz leak sniffer and / or dye liquid to find from where it leaks.

If you let them do they want to change the condenser and the compressor without even knowing that it leaks from them, ridiculous !

So please if you know a shop in Pattaya or Bangkok that can work the correct way on car air conditioning, please tell me, as the main dealers are also not interested to check properly and just want to change the whole system...

if you want to know what is the correct way to detect a leak:

In Thailnd all the A/C tech knows is to top up the system w. freon, cars in general use a special freon gas, not same as in your fridge.I have the drive  belt slipping, makes a hell of a rack, a fly by night ac mechanic wants to top up freon for 600 baht, he is not even checking for leaks as freon escaping the system carries  oil and its visible. Now I have to find a competent shop, repairing the drive belt, hard to find a shop here in rangsit. It is prudent to change the freon now, and evacuate the system  w. a vacuum pump, and start w. new gas, could be in the past some  Pfusher/ fiddler topped up the system w. the wrong gas.I am myself an A/C  specialist , repair mainly industrial A/C HVAC  UNITS. but here I lack the utensils for repairs, gauges, ratchets vacuum pump etc.etc. Source,2carpros.com,articles,how a car- airconditioner works.

Nowadays refrigerant R134A is used in cars, as it is ozonfriendly, previously R22 was used, wich destroys yhe ozone layer in the athmosphere, CAPITO, thank you.

I  did in the past a lot of OJT  trai ing on electrical and ac systems.

My driver license for my car expired in August, 2021. I  dont have a residency here in this province near bangkok, as my Yellow Tabian is issued at the house in a northern province and I cannot now travel there??

PLS explain. have to wait right now?? wait for what?

to the DLT, any problem now for me? Or can I extend/renew my DL later in 4 years when the pandemic is abating ( or never)?

As of right now DLT is not doing any of the testing required to renew licenses.  You will have to wait it out for now.

You do need to make an appointment for the testing first.  I renewed my 5 year license just before they shut it down for Covid-19 reasons.  First I had to do the reaction/vision tests and then watch a 46 minute video(no test on it).   Also after the 1st 5 year license you don't need the medical statement.

The online course can only be completed with a Thai ID number that allows you to skip watching the video in DLT.

If I was in your boots.

Ask your wife to Telephone your local DLT and see if someones there to help.

Go to your local police station and ask what there position is on not being able to renew your Thai DL I believe there's some kind of amnesty  during C19.

Telephone your voluntary Insurance company and ask what there position is on not being able to renew your Thai DL.

You have insurance cover with your CTP with or without a DL so you are not uninsured.

Dont worry so much, 80% of Thais are driving onthe road either w. an expired DL, or none at all, the FUZZ  stops you  and you can;t show a DL, it costs only 350 baht..Now w. COV19 no problemo.

A year ago when they first implemented the shutdowns, it was "for a couple of weeks to flatten the curve and not overwhelm the health care resources".

Here we are a year later, with no end in sight and warnings that new variants may reverse all the gains from the past year.

It's time to re-evaluate based on all the information gained over the past year.  Not just the medical data, but the economic and quality of life data.  Had they told us a year ago we'd still be in this situation today, there would have been blood in the streets before we accepted the shutdowns....Or lots of coffins too

Booze and women. If both are cheap then tourists are high. If not, then they go for where it is.

Thailand is starting to price itself out of the market. What saves it is that a lot of flights use it as a stopover to other places like from oz to europe so people use it for a few days layover.

6 million brits to come to Thailand on holiday, PCP EH?

    That was in 1999, 2021 maybe 50 000 if borders/airports are open.
