General Cha Cha and his Soldier Boys with more of their nonsense.
It's a loose coalition and like herding cats. Keep one faction happy by making another stupid law and they can stumble on for another month. It can take forever to get these laws chucked out again, though.

Well Singha have tried that with their Est 33 Craft Beer Brew Pubs. Supposedly higher end (more expensive) craft beers which are brewed on site in their pubs. Quite popular with trendy Thais but never going to be mass market given that 90% of the drinking market consists of rural Thais.
They also sell some of their "craft beers" in 7-Eleven now but not that popular - Thailand is not that market.160 baht for a small bottle. Far more in a bar...they do not have to be so expensive if they are the big players.
100 baht for a big bottle and they can do something quality surely?

Taking my time to be reasonable and understanding their desire to curb underage and irresponsible drinking I would like to ask this question.
How seriously have they been prosecuting drunk drivers, underage drinkers or those shops that sold to them?
As a side issue, given the demand for a better quality product, why do Chang, Singha et al only market new brands which are similarly poor instead of blowing the competition out of the water with a truly good, though more expensive, beer.

Is this true?
How many officials from TAT? Tourist Police?
Big black cars with cameras on the roof?
Taxis with no meters. Tuktuks doing Bangkok tours for 20 B. Happy faces telling you the Grand Palace is closed today...but they have some ideas for you.

That could be difficult to find.
So they will be able to voice their right of free speech granted by the constitution, no oppressive numbers of security forces, no shady figures videoing and photographing 'evidence' of wrongdoing, or others provoking incidents and Prayuth will welcome their opinions.......mmmm?
Hoping for enlightenment and worried about the forces who like things just the way they are.
New army chief and police chief soon.

Yes, new buzzword of the week. Will they 'eye' and 'mull' and if there is agreement will they 'ink' it?

Used to go there but gets very crowded, last time waiting 4 hours. They seem to decide on root canal without xray, it's cheapish.
Sometimes I think they automatically go for root canal treatment as soon as I open my mouth. Am I unlucky? Or is there a good reason?

If you think this is wasting money in Amazing Thailand, try this!

The Thai banks? I doubt many will feel compassion for them. They offer one of the highest loan spreads in the world. Their profitability is significant. Who cares about them? Not me. Not many!
It is my experience that Thai banks benefit from a much higher spread than many other countries. If you are seeking a loan in Thailand you do not have much of a choice but to pay up or don't start the business, buy the car, get the children a better education etc....
I agree there is a choice, but if the banks were not so greedy the risk of making that choice would be less and they would have a better chance to improve their lives.

End the endemic corruption of leaving university with a teaching qualification and then having to pay a school director 250000 baht to start a job would be a good start.
Let's get it all out there.
Is it true that a graduate with a government job is then entitled to get a big loan? And then they are in the system, bowing and smiling and compromising their ethics and future.

Scandalous !
What right have these bullies got to hang around, or inside, educational facilities for Thai students ?
It has been the norm. They were invited to 'help' and be role models. Each year children have a day when they can hold guns, sit in tanks and dream of when they can be proper grown ups too.

Quite a large protest currently at "democracy" Monument/Ratchadamnoen.
Suspect this latest gyration towards democarcy will end like the last 20 or so. Maybe no chairs or rope though?
Sorry, but I can not believe how unimportant a lot of the posts are on here while Thais are taking risks today to do things which matter a great deal. Why isn't this the number one story? Thai visa complains about citizen's apathy, and ignore them when they try to make a change. Probably 10 to 15,000 people there, not all students.

If only high ranking army officers felt the same way.
Vast majority on this forum expressed concern in 2014. We can only hope more people like him wake up.
Maybe some high ranking officers do. Why have so many forces been co-opted to take instructions from outside the normal police and army command?

I fear if this does kick off, things could get really ugly.
'The 15,000-plus students and others who protested at Thammasat Rangsit on August 10 issued what can only be termed truly revolutionary demands......' Asia Sentinel Aug 13
Much larger number than I had seen reported elsewhere.
The article 'Thai Students on a Collision Course with ******' is the best and most worrying I have read yet.
Sorry about the asterisks. but the Land of the Free is very touchy.

May be it's time to reduce the size of TAT ?
With no any foreign tourists since 6 months
and probably for the months (Years) coming
it's not necessary to keep one governor, 7 or 8 vice-governors
hundreds of employees and a pharaonic budget ?
All this money should be better used to help the needed
Save money on the Tourist Police too and there's lots of rather empty Immigration Offices.

I don't know if these guys obstructed traffic as charged, and I don't if know if I'm for or against them (who am I to have an opinion?), but why why why do protestors think that obstructing traffic will help their cause? Because someone who never thought about it before will now think about it and agree?
I doubt if blocking traffic was their aim. it is good that this time over one thousand demonstrators of all ages met to protest that even with 20 constitutions so far the elites still do not allow the people of Thailand a fair break in life.
Democracy Monument is a major traffic intersection.

Not just the hotels etc, but the banks themselves, they will undoubtedly go tits up too,was one bank in serious trouble before covid.
Id keep as little money in a Thai bank as i could now,it makes Cyprus look like small beer in comparison
“liability-management exercise”, an agreement to pay creditors somewhat less - sometimes called taking a haircut?
Anyone have any experience in trying this? What kind of a discount might a Thai bank accept on having the loan paid up by a client whose income will never make the monthly payment any more?

I would say 25000 is pretty well paid.
12000 is OK in many places.
Some who have lost their work are picking up 100 baht a day and free food.
