  1. I'm confused as to why Thai officials allowed this Doc to be filmed in the first place!...did they think it was going to be all smiles and happy happy

holidays?...did they think it was a travel holiday show? Don't think they did there homework on the bravo channel and the type of programs they

    produce.

Thailand is not going to gain anything from this, only more bad publicity. The only people who are going to benefit are bravo and the tourists will have

a "heads up" on what to look out for :) Ok...they put a message across that if you do anything illegal your going to be punished....and that's a good thing!

Its not only shown in the UK,i know the RoI,france, belgium, holland and maybe other countries receive Sky tv!, and the message most people are getting from this Doc and other recent events is stay away from Thailand!

  2. Alleged Burmese plant?

We're talking about nuclear power, not nuclear weapons. Thailand (and China) are signatories to the Non-Proliferation Treaty so any thoughts of weapons facilities would recieve worldwide condemnation. Thailand is not N.Korea and would not put itself into coventry.

    Alleged Burmese plant ( 22 03 04.50 N 96 37 46.20 E )...Visit My Website

From what i can remember the N.K's also said the plant was for power generation, but later there were reports of weapons testing in the

mountains of N.K.........and i think the Burmese might be thinking along the same lines.

As I'm sure you know Thailand and Burma have a history going back hundreds of years and if the Burmese manage to obtain weapons grade material.....

So with a rouge nation on your door step with the possibility of these kind of weapons...what do you think Thailand would do??

  3. Todyas ft reports 6 planned or proposed nuclear installations in Thailand in next 22 years plus 125 in China does anyone have any leads to locations?

Ytied web search via nuclear medicine facility at Thonburi without results

Could be wrong but word on the street is one in Klong Toei, Ekkamai, Morchit, Nonthaburi, Buriram and Samui. Sorry, I cant help you out with regards to China.

    :D :D

The thought of Thai Nuclear Engineers sends a shiver down my spine!.......ahh..boss,i think we have a problem with the reactor.......Ok...mai pen rai :)

But i think sooner or later they will build to keep up with the alleged burmese plant.....with help from the USA....and hopefully with US engineers!

  4. Sounds like a scripted encounter to me at least from the Thai perspective. What is to stop the producers from going to a jet ski vendor and slipping them a few baht to create a confrontation? Do you really think Thais would be pulling guns in front of the cameras?

If it is scripted, Khun JJ isn't doing his business any favors! :)

  5. Sorry,bit off topic........

Arrived in Bangkok, booked into a pretty good hotel and decided to get a massage....pretty girl...asked me to shower and gave me a dressing

    gown to wear when finished!

Came out of shower and took off gown(wearing boxer shorts)and the girl said take off every thing.....ahh..i said ok and slipped them off with her covering

    me with towel.....

She started on my back, legs, feet and then asked me to turn over...started on the upper part of body again and then stared on my legs........

I was hanging to the left and every time she rubbed the upper part of my thigh she was rubbing of my @8@/!........

No matter what i thought about there was no stopping it......i had pitched a tent on the table!

All the girl could do was giggle and asked me to shower again, a "cold" one she said!!.....don't know who was more embarrassed, but she giggled

for the remainder. When I'd showered, dressed and was leaving everyone else had giggle on my way out! :)

  6. Thanks for the replies and advice!

From a previous topic i started about HD and the crazy prices they have in thailand got me looking at the Suzuki Intruder (shaft driven) and with

no experience with cruisers i just though I'd ask!

Been riding sports bike's since my teens, but i don't think Thailand is the place for one(I'd give myself six months or less) because as we all know

about the roads and driving there, and i also like to ride them like they're supposed to be ridden :D

    :D i miss my 954 blade :)

  7. Ok...how about this one.........

Gibbon tires of stardom on bangla road phuket and flees the Paparatzi, last seen serving coffee at the local police coffee shop.

Local police man Col.wanchai says Gary the Gibbon makes an excellent latte "and i can fine anyone 5000tb for taking photo" :D

Wonder if "The Nation" would give me a job?...............No?......... :)

  9. I'm sorry Nancy but I don't see how a Visa or MasterCard is going to pay the 2 month deposit and first month rent on a place to live. He/she also wants to employ a maid as well and they don't take credit cards either. I would never show up in a foreign country without some cash. Bring enough to at least be able to purchase 250,000-300,000 THB. You can always stick some in the bank if you are concerned about having too much cash on hand. It takes 15 minutes to open an account.

Many people have credit cards and ATM cards which allow for large ATM withdrawls. I am sure that I am not the only one who could access this kind of money quite easily with their cards albeit not in one day, due to daily maximums. I do think it would require having more than just one Visa or MasterCard. I have several cards that I can withdraw 30,000 baht per day. As Nancy suggested, I can pay the card statements online from my bank in my home country as well. The only downside for me is the service charges on foreign withdrawls which is why I suggested travelers cheques. I would be very leery about carrying around $10K in cash from the moment I arrived.

While it does take 15 minutes to open an account, it may require being told no at a couple of banks before you find one that will, depending on what kind of visa (if any) you have.

I have a normal ATM card that allows me to take out 20k per day, also have a credit card which i only use for emergencies!!

ATM fees, plus bank fees is enough and what credit cards charge for cash withdrawls is too much!

OP....i wouldn't bring a lot of cash, use you ATM....find your way around.....after settling, and if you like what you see.....open an account and transfer....

you could rent a studio for as little as 3000tb ( furnished)

  10. **************************BREAKING NEWS***********************

Man arrested in Khao Yai National park for wrestling with crocodiles.

Oz National Mick"crocodile"Dundee was held today by park officials for tampering with the wildlife.

Police Col.Wanchai was quoted as saying "I'm gonna make a few quid on this one"

  12. I don't know if this is your first time traveling to thailand or your first permanent move?

I wouldn't bring large amounts of cash with me...too dangerous....use your ATM until your get settled, open an account and transfer your money(safer)

Google apartments for rent in chiang mai.....lots of them pricing from 3000+TB

  13. I know. I thought of that one before I wrote the post. Thats why Ive put a 'made-up' username on here. And using a friends laptop to do it! :D)

Don't think it would make any difference!!

If your ex filed a complaint/charge,im sure she gave your name,address,DOB,photo..ect

When you pass through swampy Alarm bell's will ring,BIB will appear out of nowhere, jumping out of dustbins, repelling from the roof ect ect :)

  14. Ask yourself this...........If the Thai's are looking for you, do you think they'd let you know....or say nothing and wait for you to go to Thailand?

If you talk to a thai lawyer about a warrant, would he/she not be in some way breaking this law too??

There's been case's where people wanted for a crime have fled the country.....BIB say no we already have someone for this crime or say we're not interested in this person.........well i think you know what happens when they go back!

But i do think its very dangerous the way anyone can accuse another of this crime, true or not, with little or no evidence, someone with a grudge could get you into a lot of trouble!

Can she prove it was you,(your phone?)

If your going back, you better think of a good story or better still deny everything!

  15. I could never understand why people commit such crimes.........

Most bank hold up's you hear about are carried out by 2-4 armed people, which get only small amounts of cash £2000-£10,000

£10,000 between 4 people?.........short time later the law catches up with them.............10-15 years each!
