Allow me to educate you a bit:

Large portions of the American West were once Mexican territories. Texas won independence from Mexico in 1836 and was annexed by the U.S. as a state in 1845. After losing the Mexican-American War, Mexico ceded the land that would become California, Nevada, Utah, Arizona and parts of Colorado and New Mexico for $15 million

And that war with Mexico? Why? " ...the forcible incorporation of almost one-half of Mexico's national territory as an event foreordained by providence, fulfilling Manifest Destiny to spread the benefits of U.S. democracy to the lesser peoples of the continent. Because of its military victory the United States virtually dictated the terms of settlement."

One factor that led to Texas revolution was the Anglos wanted the freedom to keep slaves (humm). Mexico outlawed it in 1829. There were also issues of Americans coming to Texas and not learning, Spanish, and not becoming Catholic (both part of immigration agreement). Sounds a bit like many farangs here in Thailand. Mexico was also more or less a dictatorship at the time. I doubt if farangs here will lead a revolt over that issue, however....

  2. I was under impression farang tourist police accompany regular police. Guess I was wrong. If ever was a time I would like Thai mob to do a beat down, it's this case of those two pieces of excrement who kept coming back to punch women.

Pattaya should send women police officers in, as the men nowhere to be seen. The women did a decent job of fighting.

How many cops were added to make Walking Street happy place? Were they off having happy ending?

    Fire the lot of them

  3. But.... but..... Israel is supposed to be such a bastion of democracy in Middle East. Surely this can't be true!

"Both organisations have become popular targets for right-wing politicians who accuse them of damaging Israel's reputation abroad and putting Israeli soldiers and officials at risk of prosecution."

If the army commits crimes, they should be prosecuted, don't cha think?

Seems Bennie & company already doing a fine job of damaging Israel's reputation. Don't need outside help

  4.  Pence is probably smart enough to find out that Liberal party in Australia is actually the conservatives.... unlike his boss.

I wonder if anyone has informed Pence that there may be some gay refugees in the mix (maybe do some gay conversion therapy as part of vetting?), and most likely Muslims.

Australia is getting people from predominantly Catholic countries (and yes, they are Christians, FYI)....

"It speaks volumes for the commitment, the integrity of President Trump,"  yeah, right. perhaps a footnote compared to all the other crap they have tried to put over on a waking electorate

  5. All he needs to do is show us his plan he ran on: everyone covered, better healthcare and for less  money. Did he misplace it somewhere? Surely he was not lying, as that was what Hillary was supposed to do, unlike Donnie who said "I will never lie to you". Bring it on, Don: the sooner you do, the sooner public will see just how much conned. Expect tar and feathers next election

  6. I wish to take umbrage (always wanted to use that term!) with comparison with "wild west". The wild west wasn't all that wild: many who moved west had experience in US Civil War, knew how to use weapons properly. Some gunslinger or desperado comes to town, trying to intimidate.... they'd just shoot him in the back and be rid of the vermin. Not that "high noon" sort of stuff.
