Climate Campaigners Intensify Court Battles Against Fossil Fuel Industry
blazes replied to Social Media's topic in World News
What's the betting that the litigants will be comfortably off middle-class types who don't give a toss if millions of less well-off people have to suffer the increased price of energy resulting from this insanity.- 17 replies

Reflection on American Polarization - The Demonization of Dr. Fauci
blazes replied to Social Media's topic in World News
While the opinions of some GOP members may be a trifle OTT, it is hard not to notice that Fauci is an utterly unctuous human being.... -
Adam Schiff Advocates Cognitive Tests for Biden and Trump

The shiftless Schiff....the champion liar of Capitol Hill....imagine the competition he has to overcome to win that award.... -
What exactly are you trying to demonstrate with this bunch of statistics? Most of the arguments back and forth re immigration on this thread are rarely based on racial considerations. It is religion, especially the "religion of peace",, that causes the most resistance to diversity and all the other lefty progressive insistence on inclusivity. Most people can live with racial diversity. Few can live with the demand for special status for certain religions, whose only aim in life is to re-create in the "new" country the hideous homophobia and misogyny of the $hithole country they have come from.

It's not often we get such a 100% clear picture of the kind of ignorance, racism and virtue signalling involved in this damnable and divisive policy of diversity etc etc. Going back to the aviation example mentioned earlier: I would be more than happy to accept a gay, black, disabled flight attendant, but for the left hand pilot's seat of the 787, I would (IF such a choice were to be given to us passengers) like to be informed if the pilot has got there by merit or not.

It truly sickens me to see England play such cowardly football and still manage to inch their way through games. As usual they were helped along by an outside agent: normally their own incompetence at penalty kicks, but in this instance by the utter IDIOCY of the Swiss #1 penalty taker. What a cuckoo of a player....

The one non-boring thing you can say about the latest Prime Minister of Britain is that he is an Arsenal supporter. So long as England has a few key Arsenal players in the team, they have a chance of getting through to the Semi-Finals. However, Granit Xaka may have something to say about that.

Mid-air mayhem: Turbulence terror hits global flights

Brexit, global warming, cow farts.... how come no one has mentioned Trump yet? Is he becoming more respectable now that he is so strongly up in the polls? -
Vowing to Stay On, Biden Knows He "screwed up" Last Weeks Debate
blazes replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Ok, Joe: flight from Afghanistan? highest inflation in decades? 10 am - 4pm presidency? over $100 billion to Ukraine with no tangible result? Forgiving student loans to buy votes (thus enraging all those people who paid off their loans as required)? and (the worst IMO): Leaving southern border wide open? (No person, no matter what their political leaning, can forgive a leader who does not make every effort to know who is in fact entering their country.) -
Piers Morgan Interview with Roger Waters Who Displayed Bizarre Behaviour

Halifax, Nova Scotia, is one of the very few areas (perhaps the only area) in Canada that still shows minuscule support for Trudeau's Liberal government. The last two years have seen immigration of a million per year to Canada, all too many from a part of the world whose name cannot be mentioned whenever crimes like this are committed.

When are Booze prices going to come down?

Good for you. Your decision to abstain will help abate the inevitable deterioration of your liver. -
A leading reason for a drop in crime figures is that a lot of crime now goes unreported. Police are tired of arresting criminals, only to have them released within hours. Also, to become a bona fide shop-lifter you now have to abscond with $900 + of goods to qualify as a felon. How many millions of shop-lifters have gotten off scot-free because they only lifted $800?

Not sure about "fly", but you could taxi from the Gate at Suvarnaphumi to the runway....

Been with Agoda for 15 years. Their points accumulation thingy was a good idea, but somewhere along the line they changed (as noted on this thread) and now, when I book, they never mention the points. Sneaky, but you have to be a cheapo to really care about something so trivial. What Agoda is good about is the ability not to pay until a day or three before your booking starts. I recently had to cancel several bookings....nice 'n clean, never have to worry that their computer has actually done the work of cancelling. (Mind you, you do have to search for the cancel booking site.) Their assistants, when something goes wrong, are very helpful and speak good (Singapore??) English.

Biden/Harris should be held personally liable for the horrendous in-pouring of millions of illegals through the southern border. Trump at least made an attempt at lessening the illegal entries, but Biden has spent more than 3 years putting out the welcome mat, not knowing who they were and where they were going, as long as they were out of sight of the White House.

Trump Campaign Confronts Internal Revolt Among Far-Right Delegates
blazes replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Much ado about nothing as usual. Par for the course in all political parties. The real problem, no matter who wins the election, will be dealing with the financial collapse which is almost upon us. Whether it's Biden/Harris or Trump/MiniTrump, the Deep State will have to attempt a rescue by the time-honoured method of throwing money at it, as they did in 1997/98, 2008/9, and throughout the last decade of money-printing, right up to date with the Silicon Valley bailouts of March 2023. Good luck, voters! -
Germany Warns of Potential Moscow-Style Terror Attacks During Euro 2024

A timely reminder that crypto currencies are tolerated by Western governments because they allow security agencies to maintain surveillance of the money-laundering that supports terrorist activities. -
Trudeau has had four years since that plane, with nearly 200 Canadians on board, was shot down by the Iranians. It's laughable that somehow Canada deserves commendation for finally waking up and labelling this group as a terrorist organization. The Iranians have also been using Canada for vast money laundering supporting terrorist groups. https://nationalpost.com/opinion/michael-higgins-liberals-realize-irgc-is-a-terrorist-group-now-that-its-politically-convenient
