  1. Any Tom, Dick or Harry from most areas of the world can enter Thailand visa exempt (and with Zero in the bank or pocket). Almost as "open" as the US southern border!!
  2. When Trump wins, THEN there will be a bloodbath. As in 2016, when the Dems did not accept the result (ever heard of the Russia hoax?), so this time too, they will not accept the result. Except that this time, they (or their proxies in BLM and antifa and their ilk) will resort to physical violence. Biden will have to call out the troops (well, at least till January 19, 2025)
  3. You're absolutely right. I almost feel sad for Chomper, now that he is indeed showing Bideresque signs of losing his touch.
  4. I asked myself that question and the answer came from the mirror: "you should not engage with people who manifestly have at least one screw loose."
  5. If you could learn to read, you might discover to your edification that I did not imply or state that you had said anything "inaccurate". What is the matter with you, man?
  6. Thank you SO much for that enlightening response. Your trenchant opinions (based 100% on fact, of course) raise the whole tone of this thread.
  7. I haven't seen anyone commenting on the actual style of the OP attack on Rowling (who is dismissed by trans luvvies as a TERF). The style of this article strongly suggests, for me, its origin in ChatGPT. Its blandness and sickening belief in its own correct view of the world have the hallmarks of so much now being manufactured as original essays or hack reporting by AI. It's easy to ignore this whiff of inauthenticity while concentrating on the allegations being thrown around. Bo££ocks, in short.
  8. Since 1945, most Asian nations have experienced some kind of "revolution" (whether in war or by throwing off an imperial yoke). But Thailand? Nada. Zero. Zilch. Nothing has happened to fundamentally change the way "business" is conducted in Thailand. Looking at all the other Asiatic experiences, I find it difficult to see why revolutionary tendencies (whenever and wherever they have arisen) should be so easily repulsed in this country.
  9. Clearly, the only way to solve these problems is for us all to cease travelling. Maybe stay home and watch Rick Steeves....
  10. Just reading all that exhausted me totally!
  11. I don't follow: why is using one's VPN likely to give better results? My VPN is on almost permanently, so I can't easily distinguish whether that is good or bad in the searches we are talking about here.
  12. Little boys do not pose a threat to the average Thai woman. Whereas, the average adult Thai male.........
  13. Beethoven is #1 for me. All of him, but especially Symphonies #3, 5, 7, and #9. And all the piano concertos and much much more. My all time favourite is the Piano Concerto #4.
  14. UK: CPS rape report makes for grim reading – and it’s only the start Once again on AN, a headline that bears no resemblance to the story beneath. Trivialises a serious subject.
  15. Diane Abbott is tainted for at least two very good reasons: 1. she is utterly thick; 2. she was once the girlfriend of Jeremy Corbyn. However: #1 is sufficient to absolve her of many sins. #2 - she was too young to know any better....
  16. Not necessarily good news [sic] for Labour, since a lot of that "wad" (IMO) are going to be Red Wall former labourites who will not be returning to Labour for one very good reason: the policies of both major parties are not easily distinguishable. If in addition several Tory M.P.s who are presently representing Red Wall constituencies were to defect to Reform in the next six months, it would become much more difficult for Labour to have a working majority.
  17. soars to seventh heaven What kind of sub-neanderthal mind could have dredged up so ludicrous a headline?
  18. Yes they do. And if you are stupid enough to question your betters, we do have some defamation laws to help you change your mind.
  19. Just looking at Dessert, I'd much rather have the profiteroles of Economy than the banana/walnut cake of Biz! Yuk.
  20. Judging by the well-organized burglaries in Rayong (reported today), they do seem to have invented Daylight Robbery.
  21. I am wondering whether most if not all opening "stories" on AN are generated by ChatGPT. The "English" in all these items has the syrupy blandness common to all AI generated $hite.
  22. Oh dear...my weak joke fell on deaf ears. Sorry about that. Not your fault if you've never heard of Moscow, Idaho.
  23. Yes, agreed. Especially the suburb of Hezbollah. Nice 'n peaceful, good neighbours.
  24. Kiev, Idaho, correct?
  25. Nok's absurd cockpit livery is sufficient to make me question the airline's general reputation...
