    Couldn't you get a USA address with a friend in US or is it too difficult and expensive to arrange.

    The British gov doesn't care and if it had it's way it would not pay pensions abroad in the future. At least as far as America is concerned the uk pension is not frozen if you choose to live USA.

    Pleased for you my circumstances have been very different. Lived here since 2005 and have no regrets, my Thai is the best wife ever.

    Frankly you can only look at all the Thai motorbike selling ads and decide on the lowest price your prepared to sell it for or keep it. I kept my Honda Airblade it's 17 years and don't look much different to the new Click.

    On retiring here I don't see how I can relive my youth. I have a comfortable life here which would not have been possible in UK.

    I don't see what's wrong about history saying the Thai tribal people originally came down from a part of southern china China and settled in a part of what is now Laos/Siam border. Siam developed on from there and where I Iive the first Buddhist Thai Kingdom was established.

    Yeah but with retirement extension you can split it 400,000 and income. You can't do a split job with marriage extension it's either monthly earnings amount 40,000 or 400,000 for 2 months in bank.

    Why wouldn't Thais prefer to deal with China that's where Thais originally came from.

    As long as they leave the marriage extension alone or grandfather it if there's a change they can do what they like.

    The cost of flights was the main cost ???? from memory UK visa fees were not that much it was getting the visa was the hassle. My wife came 6months holiday first to UK that was the only Visa they would issue first back in 2002. When my wife returned to Thailand she was able to apply for a 2 year visa and staying on in UK after that she could received British citizenship.
