'Shaping the Future' in Thailand means keeping the Sheeple dumbed down as much as possible in order that nothing changes at all; the Rich will continue to get richer and the Poor will get poorer, it's happening around us right now and unless the Sheeple get up and fight it will still be the same in 100 years time as Thailand moves further back into the Dark Ages whilst their Neighbours continue to move forward !

RIP the Innocent Lady. To the thousands of Drunk Drivers on the roads in Thailand this won't mean a thing; as they are arrogant enough to think it will never happen to them because they are 'too clever' to let this happen . Only way to stop it is instant Breath Tests on anyone suspected of DD and if they are positive taking their Vehicle and crushing it. Do that for one month and see the results; but of course, that would mean the so called 'Police' doing their job !

What the Military Leaders would do is jump on waiting Planes to take them to their plush homes in other countries already bought and paid for with dirty money. No doubt they would award themselves another Medal for being clever enough to leave the turmoil they created.

Thailand has never needed this White Elephant; what was needed was an Upgrade to Standard Guage of its existing Railway, Double Tracked throughout, an extension Northwards to Chiang Rai, together with new Locomotives and Rolling Stock to bring it up to Modern First World Standards. Would have been a lot cheaper too !

In Thailand 'Planning' only reaches as far as tomorrow or next weekend at best !

My Wife is Thai and a former Nurse for 25 years. She will tell you that Thailand is very much a Third World Country and the 'Elite' that run the Country want it kept that way as it suits all their Corrupt behaviour and keeps the Sheeple Uneducated, Dumbed Down and no credible threat to them. The Mountains of Paperwork will remain for Generations to come as it is used as the reason for huge 'workforces' in all Government Departments that 'cover' for the Bosses running other Business's on the side and swanning off on lavish Holidays with their Mia Noi's whenever they feel like it, all at the Taxpayers expense. Thousands of uneeded Civil Servants are employed and given long paid holidays and a Pension, mainly just for 'being there', as many do nothing more than continuous runs during the day for Food and Drinks for the rest, just sit and watch it happening as you wait for hours in any Government run Office !

No thoughts for Public Safety; normal in Land of Idiots !

Pathetic; just helps those offenders ignore the fines and will then cause more wasted time and expense trying to find them and collect. Best thing to do would be send a notice with the fine stating if not paid within 30 days the Vehicle will be towed away and crushed. Wonder how many 'Do you know who i am' calls they would get ? Lol.

More likely caused by a socket extension plugged into another extension anf yet another with the last one having all sockets filled; seen it cause fires even in Domestic Homes here and even then the Occupants don't think they've done anything wrong !

Not 'someone' creaming off the top but 'who' ? Everyone including the Parents knows what's going on and it's the Parents who have to protest until it stops. Too many times the dumbed down Folks of Thailand just let those they believe are 'above' them walk all over them instead of bringing them down !

Stayed on Phuket for a week in June; two different Hotels, 5 Star in Patong for 800 Baht a night, Buffet Breakfast Included and a 5 Star Beachside Resort for 1,000 a Night with Buffet Breakfast included. Both were bargains and we had several cheap Taxi rides and a cheap Island Tour, 9am-4pm 1,000 Baht in a nice SUV. In Rawai at the Seafood Market we ought live Asian Lobstes and had them cooked for 50 Baht each at a Restaurant Opposite. This is not the Phuket of five years ago with everything overpriced and constant gouging; once again it's become a pleasure to go there and the only Tourists apart from a few Thai's were Arab Men and a few Indian Families. We saw many Hotels, Restaurants and Cafe's closed and several for sale; even the Central Mall in Patong is still not open as not enough visitors for them. You can't feel sorry for all the Traders though; as many were fleecing the Golden Goose for the last 20 years or more without ever thinking about 'what might happen tomorrow ? '.

Thailand is not a Pro-Active Country but a Reactive one where disaster has to happen before anything else happens. However; whatever 'else happens' will only react to what has just happened and then it's back to doing nothing until the next disaster !

The best 'strategy' to move Thailand forward would be stop letting the Army run the country. As long as these Dinosaurs are in Government House with all their backward, negative and controlling idea's, the country will never move forward !

Ah; the 'Flockers' are back then, but where are the 6 Million Brit's and 4 Million Scandinavians TAT told us were coming ? Lol.

Yes well; i never accept Restaurant food on or in Cracked and Chipped Plates or Bowls or Stained Plactic Bowls that look like they should have been replaced five years ago and have been in places where they complain to me i am too 'picky'. I don't care what other people think; when Dining Equipment is sub-standard and possibly unhealthy i'm not going to sit there like a Brainwashed Thai and accept it !
