'Climate Change Expert'; i am used to hearing that Thailand is 'The Greatest Nation on Earth' and other such garbage and also that most Thai's are 'Experts' at everything and need no advice from 'Outsiders' as they 'Know what they are doing' in every way. So what's the problem then ?

I've lived here for close to 15 years now; Governments have come and gone but the TAT never stops playing its Broken Records ! Truth is they have no idea what's needed to 'lure' wealthy people; they think a few Resorts and Golf Courses, the odd 5-Star Hotel and a Steak Dinner with NO WINE will keep them happy. No serious money has been ploughed into Local Infrastructure despite the literally Billions of Baht that has been taken from Tourists in the last 25 years; there are no CASINO'S, which rich people love to spend time in, just visit Macau or the Highlands in Malaysia to see the rich at play (including the rich Thai's). I could go on but they will never 'get it' because they think that Thailand is Gods Gift, so people should just 'flock' to these shores to spend more money that will never be used in the right way !

I wonder how much of that 1.91 Trillion Baht made in 2019; and all the profits years before that, has actuqlly been used to improve Infrastructure or any General Improvements in the major Tourist Centers ? From what i can see it will be back to the same old Thailand with unprotected Hanging Cables, missing Manhole Covers, Pavements in deplorable condition, Unusable 'Padestrian Crossings', no Rubbish Bins, and of course all the usual Scams ! I think the 'Amazing Thailand' tag has worn very thin; even for the Local Population who now only react to '50/50', 'Lets Travel Together' and other various 'Schemes' that can be fiddled or corrupted to suit Business Owners the best. One day they will wake up but it will be too late.

Seen similar things happen here on multiple occasions; thankfully with nobody hurt. Last week a Bloke in his Crew Cab Chrome adorned Pick-Up with oversized wheels was backing into a space next to me in Makro when he made a similar mistake. Crash went the Guard Poles to the Padestrian Walkway behind us and crunch went the front of a Mazda parked in the bay behind, some 2.5 mts away including up and back down a 10cm concrete walkway, which as luck would have it was unoccupied. Many of these people should go back to Buffalo Carts !

Wow; this must have taken a real meeting of superior minds to come up with a plan that should have been put in place several Decades ago. I find street drainage here appalling for the most part with a lot of drains in the wrong places; rather like road markings !
