  1. Ive read these large screens (24" and up) running high resolutions with a low refresh rate are very taxing on graphics cards, infact they seem to eat big $$$ cards at an alarming rate, is this why gamers go for multiple big $$$ cards running in crossfire mode (or what ever its called these days) ???

  2. yeah, was kinda trying to avoid doing that trogers as i hate multiple stuff connected together when an all in one will do, hence i spent $$$$ on a new wifi modem rather than use the 4 port wifi router i have here already.

Gotta be a reason why this one wont set up, ive emailed true support so hopefully they have some answers, seems kinda weird my 4 port non wifi linksys modem was working but is now having the same issue.

  3. Has the other end of the connecting cord been pulled out of the wall socket by any chance (always rule out the easy things first). Can you connect with your old modem?

cord is defo connected, ive even swapped it out for a new, tried a combo of using the splitter and not using the splitter (i dont currently as i have no telephone).

Yes the "old" modem connects, im posting via it.

  4. Ok, i did a hard reset of the modem, doubled checked all the settings/username/password of the true supplied modem and entered them accordingly into the new modem, rebooted both the modem and my PC..... same deal, nothing.

the new modem has the DSL light flashing slowly (according to the manual its trying to establish connection)....it does exactly the same with the adsl line unplugged ???

  5. After making changes to a router, you need to save and reboot the router to keep the changes permanent.

When making changes to a wireless router, connect your laptop to it using an ethernet cable to port 1. This will ensure there is no lost of connectivity during the modifications.

Yup using port1 for the ethernet, im sure i rebooted the modem, but meh.... i'll double check, im running out of options !!!

  6. Yes, correct usename and password have been entered.

it just seems this thing wont recognize True, is it possible its not a compatible modem, shouldnt be, it the same specs as the supplied one on different brand with 3 extra ethernet ports.

interestingly, i plugged my spare linksys modem, ive had it connecting with true before its not wifi though and i need wifi for the laptop, it too now is suffering the same non connectivity symptoms.

  7. Okies, I have the need for a modem with more than 1 Ethernet port so i have to change.

Ive gone out and purchased a new modem namely a TP-Link TD-W8901G, before i disconnected the true modem i wrote down all the settings.

Plug in the new modem, entered all the settings exactly as they were on the true modem and nada, nothing, the dsl light just flashes so im obviously not connecting....

    Any ideas ??

  8. Scumbags, lowlife fookin scumbags.

As to hospitals, im with Jingthing, i was admitted to Pattaya Memorial requiring 25 stitches in my head, they stitched and cleaned me up, total bill was 4500b, they did actually want to keep me in over night but as they could not verify my Bupa insurance card until the morning they wanted a 20k deposit, needless to say i felt fine so i went home.

  9. Yup, things do differ in the provinces, we do not pay 150 Baht for a medical certificate!, 20 Baht at the local poly clinic. I know you need some dosh to live the "lifestyle" in Pattaya, so I guess 150's no big deal.

Nothing to do with provinces, more likely the establishment where the medical cert was gained from, i got my medical cert for D/L in Pattaya for 30baht.

OP, the 505baht, this is for the non smart license isnt it.

  10. Both brands Probably the most rugged of all power tool makes.

I disagree, Back home in Aus maktec was always crap, but makita was ok.

out here, i would not touch maktec for the above reason, they are garbage, i have however bought lots of Makita stuff for work, none of it lasts, in the last 12 months we have killed 25 cordless drills, 10 corded drills, 4 Jigsaws etc etc etc.

We have now switched over to dewalt stuff, dont know if its any better but at least the sales rep says they will honor* the warranty unlike makita.

    * the distributor inspected our work premises to see for what purpose and how the tools are used.

  11. Maybe I'll look around for a cheap antennae next time I'm in Pantip - not sure if such a thing exists here.

Do this, I built a PC for a guy who insisted it had a wifi card, when i went to his house to set it up i discovered why need for the card.

There was 4 people in a small housing village all sharing a 12mb true connection and he was about 40 metres from the house that had the router, his laptop at best received a poor signal, the PC i built him got zero signal, i went into Tukom and purchases a 10Dbi omni directional antenna for 990b, he now gets a full signal on the PC.

  12. Farang guy doing computers third rd selling windows 7 premium home for 5.5 thousand,Thais selling exactly the same for 3.8 thousand genuine too, somebody is taking the piss.

Just to come back to this, Wattana Computers on Pattaya Klang advertise Home Premium (full retail pack) for 5600b, which compared to prices from Australia is actually very competitive.
