  1. The process for registering a colour change for my car was straight forward enough.Just needed to take the receipt from the paint shop to the registration office and done!

Just be sure it is a "registered" paint shop - or you will have all the dramas the OP is going through.

Thats seems pretty harsh, what if i paint my car myself ??

  2. Im Lazy, mine is done at Hollywood car care on the Pattaya bypass between Soi Siam CC and Nernplubwan they do a fantastic Job, is quite convenient to, we go to the smelly market on Nernplubwan every sunday arvo, drop the car off, go buy some rancid fish and a few bags of Napalm and battery acid.... return and the car is good to go.

  3. Just buy the qual of drive you like and pay an extra 300 to 800 baht for the empty usb box to put it in. Nothing that special about ext drive. I alway get one that matchs my laptops drive then I can swap them if need be.

Whilst this is a cheaper alternative I have found the "generic" cheapo boxes tend to die, seems the controllers are of a poor quality.

After having many caddys die on me over the years I now only use Wetern digital My books (1tb), have not had one single issue with the 5 Ive purchased in the last 3 years, 2 of which are connected 24/7 for streaming my Movie and music collections.

  4. I took my missus into Mityon hoping to cinvince her we will trade her click on a PCX, she hated it, way way to big for her (she 5'4" and 50kg).......sigh.

Cant see this bike being a "cult" bike amongst the bargirls/boys/shims.

  5. Just keep barfining her and paying the 4k a month, this will still work out cheaper than the buyout and the 20k she will hit you to send home to mama.

  6. For BKK just use an internet cafe (if your loom offers no internet) For Burriram hmmmm what sort of mobile phone do you have, easiest way to connect is using it as a modem (if its capable) by putting a thai sim card in it (I use 1to call), alternatively you can purchase and edge/gprs dongle, these aint cheap though.

As for cost, internet Cafe no idea !!! 1 to call sim, I get 20hrs access for 100baht.

  7. I think i have read enough to put me off the Everest. I'll have to have a good look round when i get back to LOS to check out the remaining option, Fortuner again!

Thats a shame, for what they are they are a pretty good thing, they seem to cop a slagging as people have higher expectations of them, if you a buy a chassied leaf sprung SUV this is exactly what you get, not some plush sports car.

  8. Do you have an Armorn Electrical in Changmai, if so have a look for a multi voltage laptop charger they sell, i bought one here in Pattaya for my laptop, had universal plug end (swappable) to suit various different lappys, had a switch underneath to select your required voltage, was 490b.

  9. its still the same frame and floor plan from mid 80s, like 25 years old.

How does that work when Everest Production started in 2003.

Everest, Ranger, Mazda B50 are all built on the same frame from Mazda B2600 in 1985-86. Everest floorplan is the same as ranger/B50 from the front until reaching the rear seat. Just have a look at the floor under drivers seat. high floor/cramped legroom for left foot. Measure the width of the frame and compare with modern pickups/suvs on frame like Navara, Vigo, Fortuner and Mitsu

Like the styling of new Everest with lots of designelements from Disco and Range Rover, which Ford can do since they are no longer the owner of these brands :)

Yeah, i kinda work on/modify Everests and Rangers for a living, whilst they are very similar, they are different as well, they dont ever share the same wheelbase, they have different spring/torsion bar rates different shock absorbers, many many differences, comparing an Everest to a Ranger is not comparing apples with apples.

  10. A laugh a minute here in the land of smiles. Your buy at 300K was about 75 below retail market and one hel_l of a good deal. i did the auctions but most units were dogs. still looking. 35 years in the auto business and still can't find a good deal so far. The Ford is a beast and a good all around workhorse. short on up to date styling but easier to drive due to slightly lower width. McPheason struts handle better up front but decline in performance with age. The Thais never change the oil or filters so watch out for low milage units with filthy oil and pass on them. The damage is severe to the bearings.

    bella

Ummm, the Ranger does not have a strut front end.
