  1. Your mechanic is a fool!

Your probably right! On that model ( I bought a coupe for my first wife) that hose is connected to the very important part called the venturi regulator inlet control device. Disconnecting it can have an accumulation of explosive gases accumulate in the lower engine chamber. The one that should be dis-connected is the black hose (25mm osd) that is attached to the front of the engine....under the air cleaner snorkel. On some K engines it on the carby side. On some models the black hose is 22.4mm osd....do not disconnect that hose. There is also a model with a 22.9mm hose which can be dis-connected but what I found is if you have a round black plug that fits inside, drill a 3.3mm hole through the plug, to allow some gas to flow, jam it in the hose and refit. That's good for improved drivability and a slight decrease in diesel consumption.

It pays to get the right mechanic to work on a complex engine such as fitted to the K model. biggrin.png

That sounds like a very flowery name for a PCV valve. clap2.gif
No mate I was talking about the other end and the part that is connected to the combusters.

    The combusters ?

If it was me I would block it at the carby and leave the hose off the engine. if it has enough blow by to be forcing oil out of it stick some heater hose on it and put a coke bottle on the other end to collect the oil.

  2. Seems the only issue with the bike is a flat battery...................

    http://bangkok.craigslist.co.th/mcy/4414337240.html

------NOW DISCOUNTED------ I wanted to start this morning but the battery is empty!
I don't have the time to charge/fix it so the price is deducted from 65.000 to 50.000! be quick.
If no one picks him up before next weekend i'll fix it myself and the price is 65.000 again, up to you to get an great deal.

I am selling my beloved Kawasaki Vulcan 400. is is a 1996 model and runs perfectly.!

It's a great bike to have and own, many looks from the people and very comfortable to ride even in Bangkok but also on longer trips. It has 44.xxx on the odo. Because it is recent resprayed it looks like a brand new bike.

Over the past 2 months I have changed the following
    -completely resprayed!
    -oil changed
    -new oil filter
    -new chain + sprockets!
    -changed carburetor
    -new rear brake
-front brake new fluid and checked
    -new coolant
    -new spark plugs
    -braking light fixed
    -all electrics checked en fixed

No costs are spared on this bike and for sure you will have many happy kilometers on this bike. The tires are still like new and have lots of life to go.

The bike has no invoice papers or license plate anymore but, in my years of driving here I never had any issues with the authorities. I can write you a bill of sale if you want to and that's what I have from the previous owner also, gives you no legal assurance though.

The reason of selling is because I just not have the time to ride my bikes, as I have a few standing around.

Sensible offers are considered, dreamers can stay at home, anyone else is welcome for a test ride.

For more questions please send me an email, I'll reply quick. Please no time wasters.

  3. No iam not scared as I will not be murdering anyone to place me into that predicament to start with.

Do the crime, do the time.

Isn't the point of the thread that the bloke didn't do the crime, yet had to do the time?

He stuck a knife into someone and that person died. I call that murder and so did the judge that banged him up.

What do you call it ?

  4. I padi 500 thb a couple of times at hua hin too.

Apart from that, i always modify my bikes and never fined for anything else.

It is not illegal to modify your bike as long as you put parts passed from certain thai standards such as a TIS stamp.

Sent from my GT-N7100 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

Iam keen to have my pipe passed as legal.

How do I do this ?

  5. I'll ask one more time. Probably won't work, but here's try.

Moderati: Can this thread by MOVED to the Pattaya forum?

SONGKRAN Pattaya still has FOUR MORE DAYS to go.

This topic isn't really relevant to most other parts of Thailand due to the ridiculously long LENGTH of Pattaya Songkran.

Thank you for your consideration. wai2.gif

Pattaya has 3 more days. The finale is the 19th.

  6. No iam not scared as I will not be murdering anyone to place me into that predicament to start with.

Do the crime, do the time.

Name one country where police and prison guards do not abuse their power, where innocent persons don't get convicted of crimes they didn't commit, where power and money don't buy a form of justice not available to "lesser people" and where isms based on race, religion, language, sexual identity or political persuasions don't put people at risk..

And running to Thai Visa to stir up some racially based alarm and call to arms ("we farangs") is just childish nonsense. If you're afraid then run away to some imagined farang paradise where never is heard a discouraging word and the skies are not cloudy all day.

And incidentally this is not an exclusively farang forum as your thread title seems to imply. I happen to be a farang, but that doesn't mean I want to be part of the hysterical "we" into which you seem to feel nationality or skin color immediately thrusts us all.

I'm more "scared" of fear mongers than I am worried about the Thai police and system of justice.

    Really. WOW.

you reply to my post is way over the top. what are you hiding ?

  7. This interests me also,, I'm considering buying an older bike, and customizing it myself,,, some "real" answers would be great,,,

I live in Pattaya and the police have definitely stepped up their game in regards to modified bikes of late. saying that I guess they are not too bad I have a heavily modifed SR400 and since changing the colour and putting on a quieter exhaust they rarely pull me over anymore.

For reference the below pics are of a stock SR400 and my modified one.

  8. If you can't accept any Thai custom or it's culture, why are you even here? For that matter any other place in the world? Let's not feed the trolls.

The first few years I was here I loved to get into the mix and enjoy the festivities. the year I was knocked from my scooter at 10pm at night by a bucket full of iced water was the moment I decided I would never partake in the activities again.

  9. She might have done it but it was definately illegal.

T.I.T. where the definition of 'illegal' is subject to interpretation...LOL.

A friend's parked car was hit by a motorbike - Police claimed it was his fault - visit to court required a fine.

Years ago, a monthly payment to the Immigration Supervisor was enough to get 90 day extensions - indefinitely - yes, Bangkok was informed officially, but never responded.

TV has had many similar stories posted.

T.I.T. where there is always a 'work around' if you are willing to pay for it.

SO, IMHO, the story is plausible

How is the story plausible ?

Even your own examples are those of illegal activities.

Just because it happens does not make it legal.

  10. Why the rude comment on something you obviously know nothing about?

Colour changes of a vehicle should be registered at the Dept of Land and Transport.

Failure to do so lays you open to a fine.

    100% correct apetley.

My bike was Black and the book said it was Red. Copper tried to extort Bt.2000 from me.

He did not get it and I went home and painted the bike red (heavily modified so easier to change colour than deal with the transport dept).

A cop wrote me out a ticket for changing the color. 300 baht fine. I went to the DLT the next day and officially updated the color in the book. 55 baht. It wasn't a hassle.

Good for you. we obviously have different circumstances hence it was easier for me to change the colour.

  11. So you purposely damaged the hotels property and you do not think you should be held accountable for it.

WOW.... with an attitude like that can I guess your nationality has a red white and blue flag ?

As does, THAILAND, as well as MANY OTHER counties,,, idiot's speak before thinking,,,, LOLOLOL

Not at all. I presented my post in such a manner so as not to be directly assuming the OP is a loud mouth arrogant seppo.......those lot get a bit touchy feely sometimes.

  13. Before my 3,2 Wildtrack i drove a 2006 Hi Ranger 3 liter, never had any problems, it was a reliable family member. Drove 130000 Km, and im sure it could have gone another half mill. The thing i dont understand is why the 3,2 comes without GPS like they do in Europe. Anyway smack an Iphone 5 S on the window, download Google Map and off we go.

Sent from my iPad using Thaivisa Connect Thailand

The reason the 3.2 does not have a lot of the features of the Euro/Aus vehicles is because it would price itself out of the Thai market to include them.
