They need to set up a hub to sort out the political mess before there is no reason for other hubs as the internationals will have left the country.

That sinclair thing, wasn't it early 80's ?

First "practical" electric car?
It was some pommy guy in the late 1800's. Cant think of the name of the vehicle though.

I raised this same topic a few weeks ago, basically ignore the shopkeeper at your own risk.
I know a guy that repeatedly parks his car where he should not. He does not understand why he get sooo many flat tyres that all seem to suffer from a sliced sidewall.

Just last week I financed another vehicle (Mazda) through Tisco, 20% down and no Thai guarantor.
they wanted the following documents;
Passport & Visa
Work permit
Book bank or Statements (last 6 months)
Map to work and home
Taxpayer identification
Copy of salary slip

ahhh see when you said lecturer I assumed (incorrectly) in a university or similar, bring mining into the equation and I can now understand the coin involved.
-
wow you gross 240k per year as a lecturer. this surprises me.

CRS, V.V.P.4x4 have dealers in both Chiang Mai or Chiang Rai.
Due to the added weight of the front bar I would look into a spring and shock combo as an upgrade. This can be done maintaining OE ride height.

The Thais i know don't bother about it, they say its to small , so they just have all the Bodywork and Widow Chips done yearly.
Got a mate who has gone this way,
Speaking to him yesterday and he said he is paying 15K Baht each year.
That price is acceptable but ......... its a 9 year old Chevrolet pickup.
I thought 1st class insurance was not available after 5 or 7 years (??????????)
Ask you mate if he finds it acceptable after he damages someone elses property and they came after him with baseball bats to extract the money from him.
I am the first to admit that I am an insurance novice here.
I normally leave all of that kind of thing to the wife, but am now taking more of an interest.
I am having trouble correlating your answer to my above post.
Old mate pays 15K Baht per year for vehicle insurance, he has decided on no deductible, and gets the vehicle "cleaned up" each year.
If he damages someones property I believe he would be covered under the Liability for Property Damage clause of the policy.
What am I missing ???????
I read you post as saying he has chosen to have no insurance at all, hence my reply.

Hey Holden why bother with this token gesture, you took our money and gave us a crap product , Now you cant compete you move of shore, Just close your doors.
Are you one of the 4 people in Australia that actually purchased a new Holden ?

The Cummings would whack the price up, plus Nissan and Renault are linked.
Well maybe they will produce it here as the story says and only export the cummins to the usa? I can't see them having two separate engine lines for the same truck here though?
My guess is both the Renault and Cumins engines will be imported and fitted to the vehicle depending on end user market.

The "burning" would have been the thermal lance* they would have needed to cut into the reinforced cash box holder secured in the rear of the machine so they can pull out the various boxes : ie. the 1,000 Baht box the 500 Baht box the 100 Baht Box The 50Baht and the 20 Baht box.
The option is to hook up a big chain to your truck and around the atm and pull out the unit from the front but as all machines are well fixed to the location its a messy afair and you still have the whole atm machine in the back of your truck.!!!... the back is the way to go.
*Oxygen is continuously fed through the length of steel tube, usually 3/8” or ½” NB, and the burning end of the lance is aimed at the spot on the material where it has to be cut. At the burning end, the oxygen combines with the iron to from a slag rich in iron
oxides.
The slag produced is very fluid which enables cutting and boring to take place. The flow of slag is
assisted by the velocity of the gas and vapours expelled within it. The cutting is a manual process. Thus it depends a lot on personal skill to be able to cut the boxes out and not burn the MONEY !!!
The thieves knew what they were doing... Thai or farang? Think about it!
Q: how come I know all this!
A: I am a Farang.
Next week... how to build an atom bomb,
Later I will tell you all how to acheive cold fusion in your bathroom using only simple household items.
No. The burning would have been an oxy cutting set which is sold at every single mom and pop hardware store.
