  1. I'm making the sign of the cross and sprinkling holy water . . . .
  2. Wow. But not as far as Central Festival, one building over from your mate's Central bar. Or to Maesriruen, Thai resto just down from Central FESTIVAL. Or to the seafood restos of Walking St. To mention a few. Maybe refocus the ol' telescope. We're discussing Pattaya, not the entire galaxy. Troll straw man argument typical of the ignorant. Nobody said or implied any such "belief."
  3. You don't get the business model. Our ace Driving Instructors, Accident Investigators, Scolds, Schadenfreude Savorers, GoFundMe Nazis, and ordinary Ghouls live for these topics. So here this thread's got 6.3k views already and 6 pages of responses. Great return for just summarizing a local UK news item.
  4. Right. I checked my box before I finished writing that post then forgot to make the correction.
  5. And you're not getting it from TAT: ANF. You have no facts to refute any TAT numbers. Now what you have instead is your own narrative, also free of any evidence, to support posturing as a wise, shrewd consultant about what can be known and never known about Thailand. Which, given the content of your posts, seems laughable. You were adding your sneers to the TAT: ANF narrative: And now you're claiming to be merely an enlightened skeptic superior to both TAT and TAT: ANF, a Lao Tzu who only knows what he doesn't know. I'm not sure what rosy government narrative lower numbers support, which TAT: ANF believes totally to support their narrative. You haven't addressed this point:
  6. Thanks for clarifying. I did a quick search for your original post but didn't see it.
  7. Never! Then they'd lose the will to live. ANF knows this quite well, too.
  8. No. Actually it's bashing Thais who give better service to foreigners than Thais.
  9. Problem is finding something that doesn't leave you groggy in the morning. That's the problem w/ many of the meds suggested here, like Codiphen, Tramadol, Atarax, and Amitriptyline. Ami's not bad if a small quantity is taken an hour or so before. But then you may soon need a larger quantity. You know how it goes. A couple of more natural solutions. 250mg tablet of magnesium + melatonin, or L-theanine (or glycine). Or 2g of glycine ++. Or, if you have muscle soreness other condition, Ultracet (has trazadone) ++. Works pretty well. And then--Sheryl's practice of popping 10mg quick-dissolving melatonin (under tongue variety?) if you wake up at night is also a good suggestion--thanks for mentioning that, @Sheryl. Seems to work. Melatonin alone seemed never to do anything for me, but in combo it does.
  10. Most posters here seem to feel that way. The lady should be forced to read the rants & constant whinges here on the forum.
  11. Yeah, that 300 baht surcharge will discourage at least 10 million. Obviously, the Chinese haven't heard about it! There goes the baked-beans-on-toast market. I'd never come here if I had to pay another 300 baht. Could this finally be IT? Really it. You know, the long-prophesied End of Thai Tourism?
  12. Let's see that calculation.
  13. Rather, does anyone believe TAT: ANF's numbers. Oh--what numbers? Yes, we always believe them if they say the numbers are down. Totally credible. And, after a deafening mass sneer at the 40 million number for 2019, we totally flipped and embraced them as totally credible so that we could wring as much doom and hysteria as possible from the low numbers reported for 2020, which were accepted without question. This meant the FINAL FINAL NAIL IN THE COFFIN. So, why would anyone want to listen TAT: ANF's inane sneers? Just a bash. Can turn around instantly when convenient to fit the narrative.
  14. You might also enjoy George & Tammy, well done. Friend of mine, country music fan, used to tell me a lot of funny stories about George. They aren't so funny when you see the complete picture.
  15. Exactly. If Thais, esp. those working in gov't offices (think how you'd like to work on the front line in Immigration, dealing with all those idiots day after day), seem a bit gruff or volatile, cut 'em some slack. Smile.
  16. Me, too. One of our best posters. Good observations, clear-thinking, pulls no punches, and, refreshingly, not a bigot.
  17. Then we get to wag our fingers, issue warnings, and pat ourselves on the back. Always one of our first questions during our motorbike accident investigations.
  18. Could he but express his own wishes, he'd surely want his ashes scattered in Pattaya Bay.
  19. But . . . but . . . without our investigations, speculations, conspiracies, and working in a bit of Thai bashing, we got--nothing but facts. That ain't no fun.
  20. When will they ever learn? RIP We would very much prefer a life to end during a bonk.
  21. I encounter them frequently in Pattaya. While I find them insular, I don't find them particularly "antisocial," so your "million" just sounds like the usual bigotry. Note how you've dehumanized a perfectly nice Russian mother. Speaking Russian might help, as I've found speaking Thai makes a big difference with Thais. However, you then might simply wish to argue, whinge, and schoolmarm in Russian. Nor do they owe you any compensation for imagined slights. Perhaps you're just oversensitive and require undue respect. Brits first.????
  22. Why? Nothing I can't handle. I, and others, like Pattaya for a number of good reasons that've been discussed ad nauseam. In fact, it's just another fine day to be here.???? "Herd" begs the question, merely troll rhetoric.
  23. And your time is SO important, normally spent on . . . uh . . . .
  24. And go on not worrying about things you can't change. ????
