  1. Yes. Get him out of that except for routine training, maybe weekly, and see if you can interest himself in something with a less dangerous career path using more brainpower. Find some other kinds of camps to send him to.
  2. In a hospital setting, typically, the doc relates the nature of the problem and then PTs decide what therapy is applicable. Been through that process a couple of times. Found better therapy on the 'net than in Thai hospitals, BTW. But good standalone PTs, as we have in Pattaya, will perform the usual physical tests and make a basic diagnosis (rotator cuff, impingement, etc). Then, as PTs do, they recommend exercises and/or stretches. For example, a couple of famous PTs on the internet: What is Causing Your Shoulder Pain? Tests You Can Do Yourself, Plus Self Treatment (Updated) And then 7 Simple Exercises for Shoulder Pain That Really Work (Impingement, Tendonitis, Arthritis) OP's problem doesn't sound very serious, X-ray was good (YES! I know it wasn't an MRI), and it's been getting better. Doc said probably a strain or overstretch. Pain from throwing a ball sounds like classic rotator cuff tendonitis common in the sport. YES, it could be MORE. Just resting won't work, or, if it seems to, then the problem will be ready to recur. True. So, me (being me), I'd TRY working on it at home first (OP hasn't done any work yet). Takes discipline and regular schedule, however. No discipline, then get the meds and surgery, like the obese who resort to bariatric surgery rather than diet. YES, may need surgery anyway, but that seems doubtful, at first glance. Dr. Mason is the best, has a sterling rep, and is 100% trustworthy; whatever he says will be useful.
  3. But Gordon Brown speaks beautiful Received Pronunciation, or "posh," as our forum Brits would call it. How can that be?
  4. True story: wannabe old stud in my building overdosed on Viagra before a hot date, suffered dizziness in the shower, fell, hit his head on the shower curb, and DIED.
  5. Not to take away from the usual suggestions to run to the doc, you might first try a physical therapist. One or two visits might be sufficient, just follow the routine a few months thereafter. Sounds like you haven't done any active rehab. Unfortunately, these tendon problems (assuming) won't clear up entirely without a bit of work to get things in balance, so to speak. Youtube has a lot of advice re: diagnosis and treatment. I've fixed several problems just following suggestions there--for a few months, diligently. But paying good money for advice tends to make one take it more seriously. Of course, it is personal and professional. 🙂
  6. Racist? How so? Fact is, Britain's now becoming a Muslim majority country, so having more Muslims in Thailand should make Brits feel more at home. Reasonable, logical conclusion.
  7. Given Brits' constant denigration of Americans (is that "racist?"), all Americans on the forum should return the favor at any opportunity. Unfortunately, we're but a small minority, so it's a losing battle against the pretension and pomposity of our privileged class.
  8. Each attendee should be given a supply of printed emojis to give out.
  9. Should make the Brit tourists and expats feel much more at home.
  10. You don't until you do. You could probably postpone that day by cutting down on the walking/jogging, though jogging is your thing. Suggest you get an exercise bike, recumbent preferably. You can wear sandals while exercising on that and definitely remain aerobically fit. Re: bunion surgery, it seems to have a fairly high success rate. You seem misinformed.
  11. Looked interesting, petered out after a few episodes, gave it up. I've mentioned Silo before: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt14688458/ And Andor is pretty good, best recent effort in the Star Wars genre: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt9253284/ Mandalorian gets a lot of love but didn't do much for me, quickly dropped it. Star Trek: Strange New Wolds was tolerable in the 1st season, 2nd season not worth watching https://www.imdb.com/title/tt12327578/
  12. What are YOU doing on it? Please address your post to @George FmplesdaCosteedback . He may be happy to argue with you. Me, I'm merely finding his posts good for a laugh.
  13. Yeah, they have NO idea you could do that. Heh heh. Gotta count those wins.
  14. Sales come and go. I bought a cheap USED laptop since I only use it when traveling and don't want to care much if it's stolen or breaks. Been working fine running Linux. Buying anything used is strictly forbidden here by our experts and Big Spenders, however. Be afraid.
  15. You heard wrong. Immigration never said that. Over the years our posters have fretted and soiled the knickers in the struggle to understand the inconceivable WHY any money is required for anything, though other countries also require proof of assets and deposits/investments in their countries, often a lot more than Thailand requires. So the "health reason" is one of the forum myths our posters came up with to help allay the pain and rationalize the need for the requirement. And, contrary to myth, the funds aren't frozen. You can take out all you want, anytime. However, if you do you may not meet the requirements for your next extension and will have to get a new visa to stay in Thailand.
  16. Do as you're told, son. The reason I breeze in and out every year in 15-30 min is that I give them exactly what they want, neatly typewritten, complete, signed, dated, with phone number added in the spots I know they target. I don't care about any reasons, up to them.
  17. My BP wasn't affected. It's always been a bit low, before and after the op, owing to my maintaining a fitness regimen. I don't see that you have a problem. Keep monitoring. But you're a bit overweight, aren't you? Seems you probably just have belly fat and weak stomach muscles. If you'd walk around Pattaya, you'd feel right at home. I stay lean and I do exercises specifically for stomach and core, so my stomach stays flat. I have no doubt yours could, too. But you can check with a doc about any supposed abnormality.
  18. Well, you could meet your uniform requirement by just wearing elephant shorts. How about that? Should be a hit with Immigration at extension renewal time, the respect and shown to Thai fashion. Might get out earlier. Your agent, I dunno.
  19. I take reviews into proportionate account. SciFi often gets mediocre reviews as a matter of course but as a fan I usually find it worth watching anyway. I liked Foundation OK despite hating its serious flaws and annoyances. I dream of what it could have been. Highly rated are sometimes the worst, given high ratings because of agreeable politics, or because Brits love Brits. A lot of absolute shredding, though, tends to be on the mark; and I hate wasting time. I may take a look at the first episode.
  20. Yes, I followed the thought up to the worst case scenario. You made a good point. Getting advice is all to the good. And sometimes a letter from a lawyer can be quite helpful.
  21. Shredded in the reviews on IMDB. I'll pass. May play the game Halo 3 at some point.
  22. I made no such comparison. Or can't you think logically? And how did you determine the purpose of the post beyond all doubt based on the title of the article and the OP's statement he'd be been browsing for bikes? Finding a Click doesn't mean he might not be interested in anything else. Nor am I the only poster to refer to motorbikes (without comparing them), or didn't you see the 2nd post in the thread? @KannikaPposted a vid of "Little Honda," by the Beach Boys, a song inspired by Honda motorbikes. The video contains numerous pics of bikes. Yes, ma'am, but, you see, nobody here dared call a scooter a motobike. Are you done? Can eat? Keep counting those wins.
