  1. Most of these blanket insults here against Thais fall into the ANF Poster Boomerang Indicator category.
  2. Maybe ask around for help among friends, neighbors, and relatives. Suggest you also get an estimate from your local computer shop.
  3. Exciting news for our Brits and a must-visit. Should help attract those higher quality Brits from the UK. Let us know how realistic it is.
  4. Just joking. Worse would be a Thai woman holding a straight razor near your crown jewels. Shudder. Some guys do like to use straight razors. Maybe started off as meeting a challenge. Bit of a hobby for some, as wetshaving in general can be. I once messed around with a shavette and decided it's not worth my developing the skill.
  5. Well, if I were interested in the savings (under $1000), then I'd just take domestic flights CNX-BKK and Xiamen BKK-LAX. The "risk" doesn't bother me.
  6. And OP you can ignore this stereotype. Thais are individuals. As in any country, some manage their money well and some don't; nothing so far suggests she doesn't. And why shouldn't she look on a dating site for a partner? A government employee stuck in office won't find it easy to meet a new partner, esp. a foreigner. Most members here seemingly know only uneducated lower class Thais, and many of those women used to work in bars or massage parlors. As said a few times already, just take it slow and easy, get to know the lady, the kids, the extended family before making any commitments--and also before hopping into the sack. Her playing the sex card early would be a warning sign. Keep your options open. Re: the kids, they could be wonderful and add a lot of meaning and purpose to your life. Or they could be horrors. :)
  7. Best do it himself with a well-honed straight razor.
  8. Deflection. You said, "you've never seen." Now you have. You're welcome. Americans "land" in PRC all the time and more. I have. Nobody cares if you want to or not.
  9. See the Mental Health Resource List here: Maybe some online group therapy where you can drink a beer while someone else is talking.
  10. But fair is fair. The number Thai scammers, criminals, cheats, insane drivers, thugs menacing poor hapless farang, uppity types not displaying proper servility, as identified on the forum constantly, in China will also skyrocket, while decreasing in Thailand.
  11. I don't think so, unless you mean a Thai lady pedestrian trying to avoid being groped by one of the countless old male geezers. That said, crossing Soi Buakhao may be the greatest such challenge in Pattaya. I happened to be over there yesterday to visit a watch shop, decided to have a cold one, and walked a bit in search of a bar w/ no music and few customers.
  12. Anything else? Foam? Aftershave?
  13. I take that back. An entire little discussion, good discussion with a lot of truth in it and some recent research, has magically disappeared. :)

  15. Or the beginning of the problems. Knew a Brit once who posted steroids from the Pattaya PO back to his buddies in the UK. Busted, jailed, deported. Not seen in Thailand since, AFAIK.
  16. Apps are needed on the smartphone, yes. My fitness watch uploaded the data to the app on the phone. The app is third-party, as most apps are. Ran across the article tonight that may be of interest: https://www.wired.com/gallery/best-heart-rate-monitors/
  17. Mine works fine. I use a real email address, but an alternate of the sort you can create with most email providers. And then I filter out all junk mail coming from facebook and never see it. I have only one facebook "friend," an old neighborhood friend who recognizes my fake name. Twitter doesn't send out out junk mail, so that's cool.
  18. In general, I agree with you, but don't be naive. Just create fake accounts and don't post or reveal anything. You can find useful, informative, amusing pages on both facebook and Twitter. I have several I follow daily and others I glance at when I have time. Some links I post here I first learned about from a guru on Twitter.
  19. Disingenuous. The OP doesn't have a decent TV and is therefore a loser? YOU wouldn't limit YOUR experience? Topic ain't about you. Transfer the money to the OP for that decent TV. Use PM to get the account number.
  20. You've omitted your most valuable feature. A place where you can publicly and constantly bash Thais and Thailand.
  21. I've always thought that our posters recommending other members spend for tech they don't particularly want or need should be required to transfer the extra funds to the member's bank account.
