  1. I was a dedicated world of war craft player, i mean absolutely hard core (227 days played on my shaman alone) and I managed to kick it cold turkey, but after a recent flurry of emails from blizzard about my account being upgraded for free and giving me 60 days to play, then banning my account when I didn't react and forcing me to fight for it to get it back I find myself terribly terribly tempted to play world of war craft again. Needless to say I can't play it like I was before 15+ hours a day but I will be able to put in some time.

But is it worth it? Will I be tempted to get back into my endless grinding and leveling which is world of war craft?

I finally just got my account back, although I am not sure why I bothered fighting for it... I wonder if it is some system in order to attract my interest again? Can't say it has failed can we.

So what do you think? Can I find people here in Bangkok who will be playing with me? Should I just drop it? I don't know what I should do haha.

    get a life - seek help :)

  2. Briliant idea. Why not make your own bread also with a simple bread making machine, and icecream with a home icecream maker. Could also stimulate oneself so no need for a partner.

I have even heard that it is possible to grow your own vegetables :)

  3. I didn't think you would get it :)

Well, I really just hope for you that your thinking was not going like this:

Train spotting is boring and is therefore for boring people --- only boring people don't smoke and don't drink ---- therefore I must be a train spotter... :D

Listen chap! There are people out there that don't need drugs and don't need to smoke and drink alcohol to lead an active, fulfilled, very happy and very interesting life. I feel sincerely sorry for you if you believe that you need to smoke and drink in order to have an interesting life.

I certainly dont think that smoking and drinking are necessary to have an intersting life. However I have never met a person who doesn't drink that i could call interesting - they often use language such as ............. 'Listen Chap'

PS By your list of pursuits I can see that you are (contrary to my previous statement) a very interesting person - well at least in your own mind.

  4. Pattaya Train Spotters Society

I still don't get it...where's the connection with cigarettes and alcohol??

    To answer your question: No

My only active memberships in Thailand are a gym membership and membership at Boxer Rebellion...and several VIP memberships at restaurants and night clubs

I didn't think you would get it :)

  5. I honestly believe that if these images have even kept only 1 single person from picking up the terrible habit of smoking then they are a good idea. If they can prevent even just 1 person from getting addicted to alcohol then I am absolutely in favor of these warnings. But actually I don't care much because I never buy a pack of cigarettes and I never buy a bottle with an alcoholic drink for myself.

Maybe hard to understand for those people that like to smoke or drink...I know...and I know I will be flamed...

I belong to the usually quiet group of people that have never in their life felt the urge to smoke and that are genuinely bothered by smoke...and I don't like the taste or smell of alcohol - so I enjoy my life very much, but completely without drinking any alcohol.

Are you a member of the PTSS?

  6. I intend yo apply for marraige extension as my multiple O is due to expire. Do children/child living at our address need to be entered on the blue book and do they have to attend the immigration office when application is made? :)

Also my visa is on the final 3 month period (12 to 15 months) and will expire 20th november. When would be the best time to make application. I have hear 1 month before it expires. Is this the best time or would it be better to allow a few days in hand for hick ups? :D

    Thanks

  7. And God only knows the number of people who have been drugged and robbed and too embarassed to report it.

My very deepest condolences to the friends and family of the victim. I hope the 2nd guy makes a full recovery.

Very good point Scott. I done a sort of mini survey amongst people i know and i can tell you i was shocked at the number of people who have been drugged in this way or know someone who has. None of them reported it :)

  8. Hiya guys,I got a 6 month UK holiday visa at the 1st time of asking for my wife in January this year, she wanted to use agencies etc as her friends had told her it could more or less guarantee the visa.I put my foot down and said no,I put my faith in this forum and with a lot of help from the people in Thanks again guys this forum we got the visa no problem at all.Now she has went home,i made sure it was a couple of days early,we are now looking at another visa as she enjoyed herself here and wants to come back.I have checked the visa 4 u website but want to know in the opinion of the people on this forum whats the next step to take, try for a 2,5,10 year visa,is it much more difficult whats required etc etc. Thanks again guys!

I she liked it so much as you say then the entry officer will pick up on this and probably conclude that it is her desire to be in the UK and not Thailand. She is obviously not a tourist if she only came back to Thailand in July and already wants to return to the UK - technicaly speaking.

  9. 1. There is not set photo that is required - show them what you have - try to include in home and in front of home with number showing.

    2. Two documents now seem to be required - official marriage certificate and the ledger entry paper make when registering. Believe they are Kor Ror 2 and 3 officially. A few requests have been made, apparently for the Embassy paper you provided District Office to prove your marriage status. I suspect that was in error and the first two items are what should be provided. People were able to get copy from District Office files I believe when it was requested.

    3. Your wife will tell them where you live (it has to be with her for a marriage extension). She should have reported your presence but if like most Thai probably didn't.

Thanks Lopburi, I have the kor lor 2 and 3. Didnt know i had the copy from the register or that it existed till i had a good look through all the documents. My wife neve reported my presence as you say - however i do report my presence everytime i do a visa run.

When you say (it has to be with her for a marraige extension) i guess you mean she has to be with me?

    thanks :)

  10. I have been married for 15 years and intend to apply for marraige ext. soon. However, we got married at amphur and never had conventional wedding ceremony - so no photos!! Also how on earth could i prove i was single before marraige over 15 years ago?

Re. photos: we have many photos over the years from different locations but none at our current home - which my wife owns - so could we just take a few and add a few older ones in the mix?

Also i am not listed on the blue book - dont think it is possible for ferangs - and all the utility bills etc are in wifes name, so how do i prove my residence?

    Thanks for any advice :)

  11. ^well some of the victims are a bit dim by their own accounts. Take tablet - give you power. :D Or not keeping an eye on their drinks at all times ect.

This kind of drugging was in the news a few years ago. Girls were putting this stuff on their nipples and this was enough to knock out the intended victim. Only a small amount can be lethal - and has been. I also recall the story - seen on Pattaya News - of an elderly English guy who ended up in quite a serious conditon after going with a girl. I also recall the story of an English guy - young guy - who had to be medi vaced back to the Uk and hasn't fully recovered todate.

Point being it is easy for these scum to administer this stuff. Going with these ladyboys or street girls is a deadly serious game.

What a tragedy for this young guy and his family - may he rest in peace. And lets hope this freak who murdered him is caught and made an example of - probably not :)

  12. Compare and contrast:

Thaksin: doing "call ins" from a "nearby" country, agitating revolutionaries, running from justice, scrambling for passports

Abhisit: Standing man to man with Barack Obama, the most popular world leader in decades

Yes, I would say Abhisit has helped his cause. Very much.

Obama the most popular world leader - :)
