More Wise issues

I'm guessing this is money sent from the USA - as I said in a second post, most Wise problems seem to be with transactions from the USA. -

Chinese companies are no different than western ones, there are good and bad - conmen, tricksters and shady dealers are an international issue. -

That's unfortunate, but likely due to your particular circumstances; the money's country of origin and the currency pair. Transfers from the USA seem especially prone to complications/delay -

It's also end of the month, which is also a busy time. Money I sent today from Singapore with Wise took 30 minutes. -

Who said anything about a magical safety radius? My point was you posted a list of earthquakes of magnitude 9.4 down to 7.7 as if there were simply comparable, which they aren't. Then the factor of the distance from the epicentre determines, to a large extent, the chance of damage, the further away the lesser the likelihood of damage or casualties. But the underlying geology is a significant factor, in the case of Bangkok this is unconsolidated coastal marine and lagoon sediments, unconsolidated sediments serve to amplify the ground motion. Which is the reason an earthquake over 1000km away was still damaging.

I wouldn't be in a hurry to do anything, and certainly "living there for a while" is no grounds for a purchase, rent as said numerous times above. Travel around live a few months each in several cities and resort areas. As the saying goes "act in haste, repent at leisure" there's no rush, Thailand's not going anywhere.

Not thousands, but hundreds, I lived and worked in Indonesia for eight years and was in Bengkulu, Sumatra for the Sept 2007 8.4 magnitude earthquake. The aftershocks including a couple of 7 and plenty of 6s continued for over six months. That's one day I won't forget, and whenever I see news reports of similar earthquakes I feel for those affected and fully understand what they're feeling, and certainly "Nice one!" doesn't spring to mind. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2007_Bengkulu_earthquakes
