Any one on CM-NET ADSL, having any trouble with it?

My system works nicely for some 10 to 15 minutes and then seems to stop working, anyone else run into this problem, or have a remedy for it?

Come on guys,.......This comment by "Ol Moonface" is just too easy.

With the new bus service, all it will do is add more traffic onto roads that cannot cope with traffic at the moment. They need to reduce the amount of traffic in the city, not add to it. IMHO the people with cars will still use them to go into the city, you would loose too much face catching a bus!!!

As to the new electical rail system. It looks like they will just have managed to clean up the mess on the super highway and outer ring road, those people travellin up and down the Maejo rd and Doi Saket rd will know what I mean, when it looks as if they will start digging the place up all over again.

May be "Ol Moonface" is just trying to get a few digs in at Tahi Airways, in light of his buisness interests with a competing airline?

Does anyone know the validity of the 30 year lease scheme when one or two extra 30 year periods are added. A colleague of mine, who has a 30 year lease, mentioned that any leases after the initial 30 year period were invalid. Also if there was any mention of any extra 30 year period on the original lease agreement then that too is invalid. Has anyone else heard of this, or is he just passing mis-information on to me?

I have developed a problem with my hotmail account, it seems to stop working at times. Just wondered if this was symptomatic of service pack2. Am using a Toshiba laptop, 512m of ram.

If everything is "Kosher" and you have managed to get a binding contract from the landlord, find out how much discount he is prepared to give you. After all you are prepared to pay up front for a year, when that money could be doing something else for you, then he should be prepared to reduce the rent,as he will have piece of mind that his property is being occupied. If he will not give a discount then just keep paying monthly.

Just to confirm that you do need to show the 10,000 baht at the border crossing in Mae Sai. I went through last Friday. There is a sign there on the wall which states that this needs to be in cash.

A scam was foiled by a bank clerk in the west of Ireland last year. This may be beneficial to people that lease property out. An American posing as a doctor had agreed to lease a house for a 6 month period from a house owner in Westport Co.Mayo.

A cheque was sent to her from a 3rd party for some 24,000 dollars more that the agreed term. The house owners was then asked to deposit the said cheque and to forward a cheque from her own account to cover the difference straight away. She was in the proceeds of doing this when the bank clerk pointed out that her cheque would clear at the same time as the one supplied to her, and that if there were insufficent funds in the other account her account would still be debited and she would be out some 24,000 dollars.

The lady did not send her cheque, but for the alert bank clerk sho would have been out quite a lot of money.

I hope this helps warn aome people and prevents people being ripped off.

Until the major powers in the region stop doing buisness with Thailand, and especially Thaksin's companies, then he is going to continue to thumb his nose at all and sundry.

The Thai people love him, because of the nationalistic stance and the belief that he is doing his all for Thailand,(when in fact it appears that his whole being and effort is put into how he can improve the lot of Shin Industies and that of his close family.)

The stranglehold over the media prevents showing anything detrimental to the T-R-T- party but there appears to be no viable opposition either.

How long will it take the Thai people to realise that Thaksin has moved into the role of dictator? One can only hope the Thai Royal Family can see him for what he is or what he may become.

As to the sex tourist, Yes I was one, but as the years go by and the number of trips to Thailand increases, then the novelty wears off, as far as I am concerned at least.

I do not decry others for coming to Thailand and doing what I did years ago, the hypocrasy would stick in my throat. I do get pi**ed off at the people who set themselves up as being on the moral high ground looking down at these guys, one has to ask is it that they are just agreeing with their partner as they gaze out of the coffee shop window or is it that they are just jealous of these guys taking the opportunity that they never had or were unwilling to take?

My last "holiday" to Thailand was Jan 03, ostensively to learn how to Dive, something I promised my self I'd do. The "eye candy" was, as ever, divine but that had taken a back seat, possibly due to the fact that it is always available, albeit at a price.

Mind you it was on this holiday that I met the woman I am now living with in CM, so it just goes to show you what can happen to you when you are not looking!!

Yes, have seen bread makers in stores in Chiang Mai. In Central stores. Don't know if there is a Central store where you live,(Pattaya?), but they are available.

If you have a Carrefore close by you could try the sourdough bread it is very good.

Hi LC, FYI a pre-nup is not recognised in the UK, so you would still be on a winner even if you signed one. There is a saying "you don't really know the woman you married until you get divorced!!"

Every thing may be on the up at the moment and have been that way for a while, but what happens when you tire of his little habits that you find so sweet now. That gentle snore that could develop into the sound of a juggernaught slammimg on its airbreaks!!! The way he leaves the lavatory seat up all the time, he never used to do that. etc. etc.

You would be amazed how quickly love can turn to hate.

I wish you all the best in your forth coming marriage, I really do, but don't hand out that old blarney about signing a pre-nup agreement as it holds no water, and I guarantee you that if you did divorce you would go for your pound of flesh the same as the next woman!!!!

You may think this is harsh but I've seen it so many times and even been on the recieving end of it.

I was wondering if anyone knows the limitation, if any, of the number of tourist visa's any one is allowed per year. My situation is that I work outside Thailand for anywhere between 4 to 8 weeks at a time then return to Thailand for usually a 30 days or so break. I have read on this site about the clamp down on continous 30 day visa usage and wondered would there be a problem for myself. Any thoughts on the point would be appreciated.
