Crime Thai Singer Sek Loso Sentenced to 3 Years Without Parole
grumpyoldman replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Trumper ignorance on display again, what a dopey (see what I did there?) thing to say. If all you know of him is that vid, again, pure ignorance. I've seen him in BKK clubs a couple times, packed houses, awesome guitarist. Musicians and drugs, hello!!! Wow, first one ever..............take the guns away and give him six months seems more fair. -
Patong2021 has it right, your bigger worry is cobras. They nest where you can't see them, and the babies have nasty venom. Had a friend lose three dogs over the years to cobras.

Any bits of exercise you can get X, even just the occasional Bangla prowl is going to be good for you, so good on ya, keep it moving. Thanks for the report, always interesting.

Really great, thanks for sharing. Have done the night market in Trang, great fun and you are right, some excellent inexpensive food. I then took the overnight train from Trang to BKK, super experience, funny stories there, drinking bier Leo with a Hungarian biking team.

That's not the point. That Thailand has allowed some 150,000, people of a certain nationality (and their cars) to stay permanently has made the roads in Phuket one big cluster-truck. Anyway, my pal built a beautiful home on right on the waters of Chalong Bay late 1990's when Phuket WAS ideal. Now it's not, unless you are good behind your gates in Kathu and enjoy going to Central Festival. Not my idea of living in island paradise, you could do the same in Blackpool.

Those plane snaps are taken from Nai Yang, I can tell due to the direction. Good try though!

Could probably make a go of it November - May, but when the winds change June - September it would cost you more than you'd be making just to keep it open.

Lost my best pal this last March when he went into cardiac arrest as the ambulance could not get through Chalong traffic to get to him. His widow said it was 40 minutes before the ambulance got there and he was long gone. 59 years old......... Too many people and vehicles in Phuket these days.

.......and I thought Port Barton to be a bit too quiet (nightlife) this last March; 20 years ago, whewww, in bed at 9? Next year probably will rinse and repeat previous trips, Boracay and El Nido. The combination of epic beaches and nightime partying suits my holiday style.

Angeles City versus Pattaya
grumpyoldman replied to kingofallasians's topic in Philippines General Chat
Sure would've been better than the chaos we are dealing with now and as with a typical Republican presidency, we are headed for a recession after years of prosperity, but we are off topic. -
Angeles City versus Pattaya
grumpyoldman replied to kingofallasians's topic in Philippines General Chat
No, been there a bunch of times. Long time friend and restaurateur relocated from Phuket to Bang Sare in the early 2000's. Another friend to Sattahip, but I don't consider those places Pattaya. I think for the thread the OP was talking Angeles City type part of Pattaya, Walking Street, etc. -

Angeles City versus Pattaya
grumpyoldman replied to kingofallasians's topic in Philippines General Chat
Both places are dumpy. So many other nicer areas in both countries, not sure why anyone would spend a lot of time in either. But for sure Angeles is a bigger dump, and the food in Thailand is a lot better. -
With that international drivers license you can drive in the Philippines, yes/no? Can you rent a car with that also?
