@Dogbarker The issue is with the airline.
To give you a boarding pass some will insist that you have an onward flight.
Upon arrival immigration at pp control almost certainly not ask for onward flight and for that matter not require you to show adequate funds..
Yes, this has always been my experience in the past with Thai immigration

Several reports of onward flight not being asked for.
One was also from someone that did require an onward flight as requested by airline.
You could try flying without onward flight and if there was issue with airline step away and book cheapest onward flight.
Obviously you would require internet.
You could also Google "onward flights" and buy a rent a ticket.
Thanks for the answer.
Crazy thing is i tried to apply for a 60 day, single entry tourist visa online but the form is demanding Thai identity for the person who is inviting me. I will be staying in a hotel for the 1st seven days. I asked the hotel and they had never heard of that before, just proof of booking, which i uploaded. They sent me the manager's Thai identity card but wrote on it the date of the booking which is only for 7 days. After that i don't know where i'll be staying. The website was asking for a list of documents as long as your arm!
Anyway, that 'Onwards Flights' website looks good. says they can send a ticket in 4 hours. Most checkins open 3 hours before a flight. How does that work?
Cheers

The airline can ask for a onward ticket within 30 days of arrival.
Immigration seldom ask for one.
Thanks, yes i know they can ask for one. Just wondering if anyone has any recent experience

Hi, I'm a Brit travelling LON-BKK on 17/08. Does anyone have experience of entering Thailand on Visa Exemption in relation to boarding a flight (Etihad) in home country and being asked for proof of onward flight, same at immigration in Suvarnabhumi?
Not sure how much, if at all things have changed post covid
TIA

When you get fed up with the KYC process at Bitkub I recommend you go over to UpBit Thailand and you will be up and running very quickly.
They do have some weird rule about not being able to withdraw during the first couple of days after the very first transaction or something like that - but once that's done it's easy. So easy to register and easy to use - get the phone app for the photo part - it makes things so much easier.
EDIT: I would hold off on Bitkub for now - there is emerging news which you may hear about in the next day or two and it's negative.
I've just opened accounts with Bitkub and Zipmex. I had trouble verifying my mobile number on both but received a message from Zipmex to await further news. Not knowing what they were talking about i found this...
...July 21 (Reuters) - Southeast Asia-focused cryptocurrency exchange Zipmex has suspended withdrawals, the company said in a tweet on Wednesday night, with an executive of its Thai affiliate citing liquidity difficulties at crypto lenders Babel Finance and Celsius...
Looks like they're in trouble

@chacha boom localbitcoins takes a big fee - are you able to open a Thai bank account? If so, use bitkub or satang pro (local exchanges) which both have good liquidity for USDT.
If you have further questions on this subject let me know and I'll answer them without the sarcasm or negativity you typically get here.... you're getting a lot of bad answers.Sorry for the delay in getting back here. I've been travelling
Thanks and yes, i have a Bangkok Bank account. I'll look into bitkub, do i need proof of address in Thailand for their KYC?
Cheers

Why use a plethora of existing services that work well with banks and charge almost nothing when you can do it with bitcoin instead and almost certainly pay a lot more in fees and exchange etc.
About the only reason I can see for someone wanting to do this is if the money comes from questionable sources and/or was never reported for tax purposes.
This is what i'm looking into. Which banking system is cheapest for sending money? Then i can do a comparison

Yeah, crypto is full of scammers.
There must be a large exchange used by Thais. I wouldn’t be storing anything on there just use it as a vehicle to ‘off ramp’ to my Thai bank account

Hi, I’m looking at options to bring funds to Thailand for monthly living expenses. I have a cold wallet and I understand how to buy crypto and put it in my wallet but have no idea how I could ‘off ramp’ it, convert to Thai baht and put it in my pocket, cheaper than using traditional banking. Can someone explain how this is done?
Thanks in advance

Hi, i'll be arriving Bangkok mid June and need to get an implant done, pretty straight forward procedure on a front tooth. Can anyone recommend a good dentist? I've used Bumrungrad before and been very happy but i think there's cheaper options out there
Thanks

I did this a few weeks ago. LHR-BKK-PNH in my case. For BKK transit, the layover time must be less than 24 hrs. It is best to have the travel insurance specifically mention that it covers Covid in Thailand. I asked my UK insurers about that and they emailed me a letter confirming that. The letter was accepted without any issues.
All the paperwork was checked at LHR before my boarding passes were issued, and I expected that I would not need it all again untilI arrived in PNH, but unlike a recent transit in SIN, everything was VERY, VERY closely scrutinised at the departure gate in BKK.
Best to have everything printed out as well as on your phone. I carry two copies of everything just in case one gets retained/lost/damaged.
I'm looking at Etihad, i have a lot of credit with them. They will provide a single itinerary with Vietnam Airlines and covid insurance is included in ticket price

I'm a Brit planning to fly Etihad: London, transit Abu Dhabi with a stop only in Hong Kong-Bangkok on 15/03. I have credit with Etihad or i would fly another airline. I know of the changes to entry restrictions due to come in on March 1st. I shouldn't have any trouble transiting Abu Dhabi but can anyone tell me if there are restrictions on passengers on a flight that only stops in Hong Kong before arriving in Bangkok?
Thanks for any help

I'm on your page. However your talking ancient pre covid history.
Point is prior to covid I went to Saigon every month. Fact is no longer possible.
It's a huge assumption to think that there will be easy options to fly out back into Thailand early next year.
Just using Saigon as one example. Today's new covid cases ~12k think deaths rose to 135+.
Personally I'm telling folk in Vietnam most likely. I'm not back there till mid next year.
Your exit/reentry will be gamble.
All good points Jack and I will keep them in mind, cheers ????
But being the eternal optimist it’s probably the route I’ll take and hope it all works out ????

I outlined the non O option without extension.
That gives you 7 months.
The issue with METV you will need to exit Thailand.
You won't like my suggestion but personally I would enter visa exempt. Obtain a non O retirement and also 12 month extension. After you obtain the extension you can live off the money. Your not intending to obtain another extension.
That would require 800k in bank for approx 3 months all up.
Okay, thanks for the response Jack but leaving Thailand by plane for a neighbouring country for a few days or a week every now and then to get an extension wouldn't be an issue for me

Bill, what's your preferred length of stay.
...i'd like the option to stay around 6-9 months if possible

A multiple entry allows unlimited 60 day entries for 6 months from the date of issue. Every time you enter the country you get a new 60 day entry that can be extended for 30 days.
It is possible to get almost 9 months of stay from it by entering to get a new 60 day entry just before it expires and then extend it for 30 days,
Okay, that's what i'm looking for.
So i apply for a Multiple Entry Tourist Visa valid for 3 months at the embassy in London? Thanks

I arrived last week on a 30 day visa exempt with Etihad from London (via Abu Dhabi) and wasn't asked for anything to board the flight except ticket, passport and proof of vaccination. I had no proof of onward flight
