Great advice. I do the same. Remember to turn off mobile data otherwise you will waste your credit. Additional top up method is from your mobile 'phone 'account', minimum amount 10 baht for AIS.
Thanks for this. I'm not much of a techy, how do you do it 'from your mobile account'? and which company do you use?
Cheers

Hi, i'm looking to open a foreign currency account with Bangkok Bank but if i want to use my online account and i'm outside the country i need to authenticate my login details via local SIM card.
My question is, will a local SIM work for this outside the country? How long is a SIM card valid outside the country? I don't think there's anyway to top it up?
Thanks

I have been using THAI MILITARY hospitals for 9+ years. Most military dotcors are US or UK trained. My latest prescriptions ( 4 months 1@2x daily and 1@1xs daily ) and including Doctors visit and lab work was 1,200THB.
In the US, 1 MONTHLY prescription with co-pay was $29.00US. When it comes to health, why not visit a MILITARY hospitals .. clinic ..for a checkup.
HINT: you have to register 1st and get a (( FREE )) hospital ID card, passport needed You pay the same price Thai civilian's pay.
I spent 5 days in a ARMY hospital, 4 days xrays, 5 days lab, discharged with 4 months meds. Paid about the same as a 5 day stay at a decent downtown hotel, 12,000THB
Thanks for the reply. I visited the doctor in the UK a short while back for a check up and was put on the meds but unfortunately they've now run out

It would help if you disclose what medicine you are after
It's just regular blood pressure medication, Amlodipine

Hi, i'm on prescription blood pressure medication, prescribed by my doctor in the UK. I've run out and need some more. I don't want to pay for a consultation with a doctor to get another prescription, i know what i need. Is there somewhere i can buy it over the counter without a prescription here in Bangkok?
Thanks

Hi, i'm wondering if it's possible to open a sterling account in a bank here in Thailand?
If it is, are there any restrictions, like a work permit etc?
Thanks in advance

People probably said the same thing about bitcoin when it first came out.
Surely a better question to ask is "if it costs nothing then what is there to lose?"
...because Bitcoin provides a solution to real world problems, it's viable technology...It has a 'raison d'être'

Hi, i was in Laos a while back and took Thai baht with me, it was very easy to exchange to Kip everywhere and at good rates. Is it the same in Cambodia?
Thanks

As the title says, which form do i need to fill in to extend a 45 day visa exempt entry at Lak Si?
Thanks in advance
-
Thanks for the replies
another quick question. I can remember getting an extension in Chiang Mai years ago and I was told best not to wear t.shirt. shorts and flip-flops when you go. I wasn’t planning on the latter anyway but is that still the case? Just out of internet really
Thanks

Sorry if this has been asked before...Hi, i entered on a 45 day permission to stay valid until Feb. 03. What's the earliest i can go to Lak Si (staying in Silom) for the extension?
TIA

I applied in Hanoi with no major issues. You need to show a flight booking into and out of Thailand.
The fee is payable in USD. Finding anywhere to change money in Hanoi is extremely difficult; make sure you change up some notes before you leave.
Thanks for the reply

How long are you planning to stay for? You can extend for 30 days at immigration.
If this is your first visa exempt entry you should be fine doing a border bounce; no need for an actual tourist visa unless you want the extra 15 days.
Thanks for the answer. I'm in Hanoi now. I didn't want to extend i wanted to get a visa for 60 days. My problem with the online application happened before i entered Thailand on my last 45 day exempt

Hi, i'm a Brit and in Hanoi now as my 45 day permission to stay expired, here to get a tourist visa
I tried to get an evisa online but for some strange reason the form was asking me to supply proof of my hotel booking with the hotel owner's ID. I can supply the booking of course but that doesn't seem to be enough. Very strange as i've only had one entry in the past two years. I've never been asked that before. I'm thinking it would be easier to apply directly at the embassy with all the docs. Do they still issue them in person at the embassy?
Thanks for any help

I have a True SIM pay-as-you-go deal. I checked the expiry date and it's 12/04/2566. I've worked out 2566 is 2023 but i'm assuming 12/04 is 12th of April?
