Assault on Kiev: Russian helicopters swoop above Ukraine's capital
tgw replied to Chris.B's topic in The War in Ukraine
Putin has built up an Ideology, it also got a symbol: "Z" https://www.zois-berlin.de/en/publications/zois-spotlight/the-ideology-behind-russias-war https://www.uu.nl/en/news/putins-motive-the-radical-ideology-of-a-holy-russian-nation the list of wars is there to illustrate Russia's need for drones, as your point was that Russia has not been involved in enough conflicts for it to have a need for drones. I would hold the opinion that the nature of the conflicts, local, internal, etc. and the opponents in the conflicts are largely irrelevant in the question of the need for drones. drones are needed in every war, and Russia was involved in many. -

okay, let's check: what is fascism? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fascism far-right: kind of checks authoritarian: oh yes and then some ultranationalist: check Putin's speech at the annexation ceremony dictatorial leader: check centralized autocracy: check militarism: check forcible suppression of opposition: check belief in natural social hierarchy: check subordination of individual interests for the nation and race: check regimentation of society and economy: check apparently, I also "declare something a war crime when something may not be a crime" ... this requires examples, please. the list of conflicts I presented contained no non-existing items. some were repeated because there were several armed conflicts, sometimes because Russia lost the first time but came back for more. all armed conflicts (including "special military operations" !) within or outside of Russia's alleged borders I listed are real and involved Russian troops. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_wars_involving_Russia again, about war crimes, find posts where I said something was a war crime when it wasn't. and about negotiations: asking for negotiations now is a pro-Russian propaganda ploy because negotiations would reward Russia's aggression, putting it into the situation of offering things it does not own as "goodwill". The precondition for any negotiation is Russia offering to evacuate from all Ukrainian territories it illegally occupies. -

"a realistic picture where one could hardly find something special comparing to another wars." you are joking, right ? show me another recent large-scale war where a large democratic country has been attacked and invaded by fascists ? and on top of that it happens in Europe ! it is reminiscent of WW2, and WW2 was very very special. "You and your friends igniting hate and doing the propaganda." uuh sure. do you have examples of me doing propaganda? wow, you offer to "shut up" in order to not hurt my feelings ... err... why couldn't Russia simply stop the war in order to stop hurting people for real ? So you are against the war ... you do realize that if Russia stops fighting and withdraws within its internationally recognized borders, the war stops, right ? -

"wars periodically happen" ... no they are started by warmongers, they don't just "happen". Yes, we could witness Russia's defensive military doctrine in Georgia, Abkhazia, Transnistria, East Prigorodny, Tadjikistan, Chechnya, Dagestan, Chechnya 2, Georgia, North Caucasus, Syria, Central African Republic and Ukraine. "unlike US which is doing small wars periodically" ... yeah, right. Russia only did "special military operations" in the above countries. I will stop there because your post is just pro-Russia propaganda drivel trying to portray Russia as the victim. good luck with that. seems a new wave of trolls were commissioned in Olgino... -
depending on how long you had your computer, you might also want to replace the thermal paste, both under CPU and GPU. typically it should be done after 3-4 years, even if some paste has been reported to last for 8 years (arctic mx-4), but one rarely knows which type of paste has been used by the manufacturer. I've also seen really bad paste applications.

I really don't understand that talk of "escalation". Nothing Ukraine can do with its own weapons (not western ones) can be seen as escalation. Ukraine is defending in Ruzzia's full-out war. Short of using WMD, everything Ukraine does to strike Ruzzian military targets is fair game. -

sad news if true. maybe it's just "feel good" news from Ruzzia for its own audience. let's wait to see how many Ruzzians were actually encircled. -

Governor: Ukrainian forces trap 5,000 Russian troops in Lyman About 5,000 Russian soldiers are encircled by Ukraine's Armed Forces in Lyman in Donetsk Oblast, said Serhiy Haidai, the governor of neighboring Luhansk Oblast. According to him, Russian troops asked their commanders if they could retreat but the request was turned down. https://kyivindependent.com/uncategorized/governor-ukrainian-forces-trap-5-000-russian-troops-in-lyman -

I listened to Putin's speech and wow, it was full of spite, inferiority complex, vindictiveness and small d*ck syndrome. and lies of course, besides a few arguments that were accurate. many aspects of what he said were reminiscent of Hitler. in the attendance, nobody was smiling. but it still is only bla-bla. at the same time, the AFU are close to scoring another win at Lyman. -

yes. Ukraine will continue to defend its territory, fake "referendums" and unilateral annexations will change nothing. -

neither nor is my guess. he's doing it for profit: scaremongering, building up conspiracy stuff, distrust in own governments, etc. it generates many followers that are the people who are the most active online, spreading lies. I know several other "authors" surfing on the same wave: covid, the "great reset", etc. their goal is just to stir the pot, make money, become famous and meet powerful people, which mostly are those who benefit from these lies. he probably also wants to use the people he manipulates to influence politics. from his wikipedia page it's pretty clear he's a demagogue. -

I really don't understand how the Nordstream sabotage could be spun into being a bad thing. It will have only positive effects. Well done USA for blowing it up. -

Mystery leaks hit Russian undersea gas pipelines to Europe
tgw replied to Scott's topic in World News
the pipelines were blown up. objectively, these pipelines weren't a problem for Russia, but had become embarrassing or a nuisance for lots of governments, among which, going from the most important to the least : - Ukraine - USA - Norway - Germany Why ? because turning the gas back on could have been an item in ceasefire negotiations or a way for Russia to pay for war reparations. Who could have done it ? - USA - Russia - EU countries - UK You can make a Venn diagram. So, who benefits by taking off Nordstream and Russian gas through the Baltic sea from the negotiation table ? Blowing up Nordstream isolates Russia. And there is another pipeline for Russian gas to go to the EU ... that pipeline is in Ukraine and could be repaired after the war. So I'd say the main beneficiaries are Ukraine and the USA. China is watching, wondering how to take advantage of this situation. Who did it? I'd bet the USA. Poland's former defence minister is of the same opinion, but I bet he regrets having let that slip out. The timing is interesting too... just as that fake voting takes place. I support the move because working pipelines could have helped the Russians in negotiations. It will be interesting to watch if any country undertakes an attempt to save the pipelines. They need to be sealed and the salt water pumped out, otherwise corrosion will set in and they will be completely destroyed. one of Biden's promises is fulfilled: -
