last christmas went to the christmas lunch at the marriott corner of Sukhumvit 55 (thonglor). I think it was 2000baht per head (no alcohol) and an extra 400 baht for unlimited drinks.
Buffet style but big selection of roasts, seafood, Asian..deserts..heaps of piss.
Will do it again this year for sure. very good.
was amusing people watching (perving) the executive expats with their much younger Thai gf/wives all tarted up.

take this with a pinch of salt... but i got told to hold off buying a ducati by a thai guy at work because next year the price will come down.

Slipper Lobster. "Gung" is Thai for shrimp.Appears to be scampi.
Thanks Mark.
Looking at Google scampi pics they look to have long claws, these don't.
Maybe they are young undeveloped scampi.
Wife just told me they are called "Gung" in Thai and at the restaurant they called them "rock lobster" which didn't sound right to me
Mantis shrimp / prawn. Most western prawning countries hate these cause they kill prawns
As far as thai pronounciation
Prawn / shrimp is goong (oo as book)
Mantis shrimp is gung (u as in fun)

I've made several baffles and I can tell you its a black art. I made more than 20 modifications until I got it right for my bike.
Its quiet but slightly loud when I open it up. Sounds a bit farty though from exhaust pressure coming out of the rivets of the slip on exhaust.
The simplest explanation I can give is its a fine balance between choking the engine and letting it breathe too much.
For a 2 inch exhaust get a 1 to 1-1/4 inch pipe, weld up the back on it. Drill a few holes in the body of the pipe. Insert it into the exhaust (welded end goes in first) Ride it. How's it feel. Remove baffle pipe again.. Drill more holes.. Ride it again. Etc etc.
Too many holes will eventually let too much exhaust through and power will be lost. Too few holes and it will choke the engine and power will be lost. As for achieving a desirable tone.. Good luck with that (unless you like a raspy dirtbike sound)
If your getting someone to do it get a few made and go buy a drill.
Better still go see Mr ebay
As for soot.. Should be clean as a whistle when removed
Better off just ordering a long and short one from eBay first. These are adjustable and might be an easier fix than running back and forward to a welders shop

I made that one myself. One of my earlier incarnations.
You can buy universal baffles from china on eBay for about $5 delivered.
