The BMTA (Bangkok Mass Transit Authority), owned by the Ministry of Transport, is still operating those 30+ year old red and blue buses in Bangkok belching black smoke with every gear change. Only yesterday I saw three of them running on Petchburi Road within 15 min. Maybe the BMA could lean on that ministry a bit harder to replace those buses, you know, for the common good..., and it's a health emergency..., and you all could use it as a proactive and tangible measure for a press release..., and it would show that you actually also do what you preach to the public..., and blah blah blah bull$hit -

I am sooo out of the loop (is it permitted to say that, or am I discriminating against loops?). I never heard of "white fragility" either. I think this whole chicanery began achieving traction decades ago when it became to be fashionable to "discover your inner child" and to "get in touch with your female side". And now it has spiraled totally out of context and is dictating (not dick-tating!) policy.

Historical race concepts Some scientists sorted human beings into three groups. These groups were called races: The Caucasian race living in Europe, North Africa and West Asia, the Mongoloid race living in East Asia, Australia, and the Americas, and the Negroid race living in Africa south of the Sahara. Other scientists spoke of four or five races. These ideas were popular from the late 18th century to the middle of the 20th century. These are now called historical definitions of race or historical race concepts. Today, scientists agree that there is only one human race. Modern genetic research has shown that the idea of three (or four, or five) races was wrong. You see, my dear, since there is only one race, namely the human race, your concept of racism is outdated and irrelevant...

This whole thing reminds me of a similar proposal by the TAT, to bring the Tour de France to Thailand. This idea came about after the Prayut coup in 2014, I guess governors and such had to come up with stuff to justify themselves and to divert attention from the coup makers..., not withstanding the fact that the Tour de France only happens in France and neighboring countries. Another guess is that the TAT governor got to go to France for talks and some discretionary funds... -
