    No, not annoyed, it's just me not nailing the correct tone, which gives a whole new meaning to the word. look at "near/far" = glai, if it's pronounced with falling tone it means near, otherwise it's far... I imagine that example for the Thai military in wartime: "Where is the enemy, near or far? And don't answer on the handset, use the Thai Post!"
