                 2. Excuses, Excuses, Excuses - proven excuses and watertight alibis in case you "missed" your train

Mr Aryut Sinthoppant, director of Bang Kwang maximum security prison where Dr Wisut spent his term, said that Dr Wisut behaved extraordinarily well and was helpful in providing medical treatment to inmates in prison and, therefore, had his prison term cut for several times.

He claimed that Dr Wisut told him that he would spend time helping the society after his release from prison but did not elaborate what actually he would do.

Since he was providing medical treatment, his license was not revoked...

Prison Director: what would you do if you were free?

Dr. Wisut: I would help the society!

Prison Director: ok, you are free.

The virus is not airborne and can only be transmitted by direct contact, senior doctors said at "How to Handle the Ebola Virus When It Reaches Thailand".

"The Ebola virus's transmission is similar to that of HIV/Aids, which transmits only when there is a contact between organs and blood," said Dr Yong Poovorawan of Chulalongkorn University's Faculty of Medicine.

He emphasised that it would be quite difficult for the disease to spread in Thailand.

First, I am glad that they had a meeting. That's a good thing. Naming the meeting "How to handle Ebola when it reaches Thailand" may be a bit alarming, but I can live with that.

Now, about the bit on transmission: "the virus transmits only when there is a contact between organs and blood", I'm by no means a medical expert like Dr. Yong Poovorawan, but I'm pretty sure that there is contact between organs and blood, at least with mine...

Lastly, about the difficulty to spread in Thailand - is it because of Thainess?

  4. Sharing the anti-Thaksin outlook is of utmost importance. Paramount. Instead of sharing an outlook for law and order, equal justice for all, due process, freedom of speech, individual and equal opportunity for all, they are most concerned with "selecting" those holding anti-Thaksin views.

...unless of course those sharing the anti-Thaksin outlook do possess all those virtues you outlined in your post above. If they do or don't, we don't know yet. However, we do know that pro-Thaksin inclined members of society share quite different 'virtues'...must be a virus, time to get a check-up?

Since the onus is on the procurer of such service, that procurer should put an adequate sum of money into an escrow account which would be paid out in case of abandonment, breach of contract, etc. Call it baby bail...

A voluntary commercial agreement between two parties, often three with an agency.

Why does it go without explanation that the procurer bears the onus? At most it seems your stance is purely morally driven. Reality is based on law and particulars of their agreement. Many designs are possible.

I would have thought that my opinion would mostly benefit the baby. If you have a better idea, please share...

  6. Imo this is not about legal/illegal, or moral/immoral, or straight/homosexual, but about an abandoned baby. Surrogacy will probably continue, so it needs to be made safer for the child. Since the onus is on the procurer of such service, that procurer should put an adequate sum of money into an escrow account which would be paid out in case of abandonment, breach of contract, etc. Call it baby bail...

  7. Travelling by train in Thailand is absolutely fabulous! ( only a fool uses the roads ) I understand the extra security on Trains now due to a young girl being raped. But why not put security on all Buses,Boats, ferries & Taxis too!???? why just the trains?

SRT = State Railway of Thailand, it is a government enterprise, not private business.

former PM implied that he is eyeing a return to Thailand by giving away the books at his 65th birthday party over the weekend."The rumour that this book was distributed in my father's birthday is baseless,” Mr. Panthongtae wrote.

Not true. The birthday guests had to pay 299 baht per copy.

"Let me emphasize here that - although I have not seen the content inside the book - my family is not involved in the book, regardless of what the authors wrote about my family in a positive or negative way."

"We did not do it, I did not see it, we can't understand it, let me stress that I am negative about this in a positive way!" Thanks for clearing this up, Oak...
