"She also said that the UDD had always upheld the law while respecting the majoritys voices. The UDDs chairman also said that the group did not condone the use of violence to express political opinions."
Glad to see that there is a bigger liar than Yingluck.
But, like Yingluck, she's a week late with her obtuse denial of red shirt separatists.
.
She had to wait for the think tank to come up with this:
The name was initially thought to stand for ‘People Democratic Republic Lanna’; however, Ms. Tida claimed that it in fact stood for ‘Lanna Assembly of Democracy’

"Ms. Arphon Sarakham is a well respected pillar of the community. She has chaired numerous charitable organizations and improved the lives of every single constituent in her province. She is considered a saint with well documented spiritual powers, a healer of the sick, a feeder of the poor and a liberator of the oppressed. She is capable of single handedly balancing many roses at the same time. She will make a fine senator and is exactly what Udon Thani needs.
I find it odd that there are on this forum so many middle aged, beer bellied posters who just denigrate a strong and secure Thai woman from the anonymity of their keyboards."
Please, you all, just forget what I wrote above...I woke up still in a nightmare of having become the geriatrickid...
It's even more odd how you can pronounce with certainty that all TVF posters are middle aged and beer bellied. You have no clue!

You could go to Ancient Siam. A huge park just outside BKK, BTS to Bearing and then taxi ~45min, opens at 9am, 500bt.
It's a park in the shape of Thailand featuring the country's most important monuments at the appropriate geographic locations. You can spend all day, the entry includes the use of a bicycle for the day if you wish. Go early, it get's hot. Google 'Muang Boran' for more info.

just give her an honorary doctor title and call it a day...
looking at the picture, did she eat the missing rice?
Now that was a low blow.
Does any one know any thing about what she has done.
I figured she would be in the politics up to her neck but there was no word about her actions.
so far most of what I have seen here is really nonsense. For all we really know she may have been very active in helping women.
She just has the bad luck to be in a clan that has a very unsavory reputation. Don't know that much about her she might be a good apple in a barrel full of bad ones for all I know and it seems like most of the posters here know about the same as I do.
Yaowares Shinawatra, was President of the National Council of Women of Thailand under the Royal Patronage of Her Majesty the Queen. She was active in the launch of several initiatives to improve the position of women in Thai society.
She has worked on behalf of women's rights and the opening up of opportunity for women for about 25 years. She was not involved in politics until Thaksin was forced into exile and the family came under attack. It is interesting that few of Thaksin's 9 siblings were interested in politics on a national scale. The Shinawatra family was a trendsetter when it came to women expressing themselves. Sister Yaowalak (RIP) was the first woman mayor of Chiang Mai and Yingluck is the first PM. All of the Shinawatra women have been independent and successful in their own right.
I find it odd that the denigrating and misogynistic comments in this thread are being voiced by middle aged men, most of whom probably have a few failed marriages or abandoned families to show for their time on earth. It is also odd that the males calling Yaowares a cow etc. are most likely morbidly obese themselves. I suppose one should laugh at such people, but really it does explain why they have a sorry track record with educated secure women. Perhaps there are better candidates than Yaowares, but considering the fear and resentment many of the respondents on this thread have for women, I don't think those males are in a position to render judgement.
You forgot to mention she is an expert in tic-tac-toe and plays a mean air guitar...and being that you are Dr. (honorary) Thaksin's adopted geriatric kid, she is also your auntie.

They were taken to a local police station and warned they could be fined B100,000 or face up to a year in jail under Thai laws covering university dress codes
Hmmm, how much for a military uniform? Or police tights, or monk robes? Is Halloween exempt?

He said there were three factors behind the idea of setting up a "Republic of Lanna". Firstly, people in the North were looked down upon by others, with the PDRC often referring to red shirts as "red water buffaloes". Secondly, the opposing group did not respect the law and there were double standards in the judicial system. The third reason, he said, was the undemocratic aspirations of the PDRC.
I just love that first reason: because of name calling and lack of respect they want to set up a republic...well, respect is earned, not given...

Greed is the reason for collapse of rice pledging scheme, says klauskunkel
The government used the rice, which they did not own, to drive up the market price with a plan to skim from the top. This was done because there is no oversight, transparency or accountability and also because being unethical and greedy is a requirement for a cabinet position.
Driving up the price didn't work, simply because traders bought cheaper rice from other rice producing countries with a click of the mouse. This was unanticipated by the government because as a rule they do not anticipate the future, they do not understand how mouse clicks work and because they never listen to anybody who knows better and also because being inept and unqualified is a requirement for a cabinet position.
Now, after having gambled away the livelihood of Thailand's rice farmers, the government is left with a rotting stockpile of rice, no money, protests and carnage in the streets, no credibility and Chalerm. So, what's a government got to do? Blame, distort, lie, obfuscate, delay, deny, forget, point, smile, threat, confuse and above all continue being a government.
...and that's the reason for collapse of rice pledging scheme

Surapong, the Poker Player:
I see your one bully (Suthep), and I raise you two (Chalerm and Jatuporn)
the pot is Yingluck

They could talk on Facebook, from "fiend" to "friend" in one click...
-
That article makes no sense as, they talk about "Corruption", the PDRC has been yelling Corruption but the NACC, only charge Yingluck with "Negligence".
Simple reason no Corruption could be found in Their investigation!
Cheers
Look here:
There is no "corruption charge" per se, it is broken down into several offenses, like graft, abuse of power, malfeasance, negligence, nepotism etc., some can be broken down further. The rule of thumb is that if you use the power of office for anything else but for the benefit of the nation, then you are corrupt.
To make things even clearer, let's look at "stupidity", this can be broken down as well: commenting without thinking, never looking at the big picture, extreme bias, emotion overruling reason etc., I'm sure you get my drift.
You mean stupidity like in believing anything Suthep says? And believing the NACC, CC, courts and any other government institution (including RTP and RTA) are objective in this fight?
No...I mean stupidity like in being so narrow-minded in your views that everything in your mindset is red vs. yellow, Suthep vs. Yingluck, to the exclusivity of everything else and extrapolating this mentality onto everyone you encounter (I am generalizing)
