  1. Unless they have changed again, Chiang Mai Immigration does NOT accept the combination method.
  2. I am curious as to how the big used motorcycle market next to Meechok Plaza works. Do they operate on consignment or do they actually own the used bikes they are selling? Do they buy used bikes? Do they reliably take care of the title changes (Green Book)? Would appreciate any info.
  3. Rebel 300 were never found at Honda Big Wings. They were offered through the normal Honda dealers.
  4. Whatever the official Honda website says, the fact is that a Rebel 300 has not been available, at any Chiang Mai Honda dealer, for over 10 months.
  5. I use the Thai registered mail also and their tracking system. Works great. Funny though I tried to access the USPS tracker (the second link above) and I get this: You do not have permission to access this page If you have found this page in error, please contact support Weird. I use a VPN set in the US.
  6. Yes I asked three of them in CM. Months ago one of them told me there was a problem with the supply lines for various components. The others didn't know anything.
  7. Does anyone know if the Honda Rebel 300 has ceased production. There has not been one available in Chiang Mai for many months.
  8. It's been noted before but the "combination method" is not available from some Imm. offices. For example the combo method is not allowed in Chiang Mai.
  9. I'll second everything that pg just said. I've used both Assist Thai and Star Visa for various services over the years. Both excellent. And if you are not an experienced MC driver, don't plan on learning here. The carnage on Thai roads (especially for bikes) is unbelievable.
  10. I just now logged into my account with no problem. Firefox browser. VPN on.
  11. Are they doing second booster (4th shot) yet?
  12. For the past several years the Chiang Mai Immigration office does not accept the combination method.
  13. I too would like to try Chouquettes if they have first rate baguettes! Can you be more specific on where it is located. I am not very familiar with that part of town. Thanks!
  14. Is the Honda Rebel 300 not being made anymore? I went to 4 Honda dealers in Chiang Mai and not one had a Rebel 300 for sale. One of the staffers at one shop told me they have not had one of these bikes in over 4 months. Is it out of production?
  15. Can only get through employment. I don't recall what the deduction was from my paychecks but it was very small. I retired 4 years ago and I still get Thai SS and I pay 432 Bt per month for it.
  16. Thai SS would cover him completely. However a foreigner must pay into the system for at least 3 years (it might be 5 now) before it can be used.
  17. Yes, as others have noted, do not assume that you can use the combination method. Chiang Mai Immigration, for example, will not accept it.
  18. I use DD of SSA into BBK. It comes in as FTT (as UbonJoe said). Since my SS is only about 60k/mon, I also do another monthly transfer of 25k using Wise into another BBK account so that my monthly income is 85k. The Wise transfer (using "funds for long term stay"...) also come in as FTT.
  19. I've used both Assist Thai and Star Visa over the years. Both are excellent.
  20. Lanna Hosp. does a similar check up to the one described by Seedy above. I don't remember the price exactly but it was around 5-6000 baht. Stament: You said you get Soc. Sec. cover at Suan Dok. I also have Thai SS with my assigned hospital at Lanna but I am looking to find a better option. The initial input screening and outpatient process at Lanna is horrible. Crowded and completely inefficient. An absolute mess. Is it any better at Suan Dok (or any other hospital that takes SS patients)? Its so bad that I usually go to Bangkok Hosp. or CM Ram and pay for any initial appointments, x-rays or tests, or outpatient treatments even though I could get it for free at Lanna.
  21. I tried Amazon again this time with my VPN off. Same "cannot deliver" message. I had never heard of this Book Depository company so I tried it. Quickly got exactly the two books I wanted. They say "free delivery" even to Thailand (from UK). HOWEVER, it is not "free" of course. They fold shipping/delivery costs into their listed price. Their prices are considerably more (sometimes nearly double) the price at Amazon.
  22. I think this might be caused by COVID restrictions. I took a look at the Barnes and Noble online bookseller site and they had a list of 20 or so countries that they are currently not shipping to because of COVID. Thailand was NOT on this list. Amazon's site provided no information whatsoever.
  23. Today was a fairly hard one. The double consonant ending took me a while. If you need more than one a day go to: https://octokatherine.github.io/word-master/?fbclid=IwAR1jrtY9DGKro2S3bCb87ccYDlT4MCigaDA2T5ntt349FKlXtn7ovGSSURE Exact same game. Play as much as you want.
  24. I have not used them in a couple of years but I tried to buy some books online from Amazon and the site said "cannot ship to that address". It is the exact same address that I had before when I bought numerous shipments of books from them. Has anybody experienced this? What did you do?
