that is a heavy downfall considering thailand's dominant dependence on tourism.

thailand depends on china tourism big style...they kicked out all the westerners by making their currency expensive and introducing lots of strange rules for them only...thailand decidet that chinese are big spenders and dont stink like western falangs do...also they blend in better...so corona never mind, just dont test them, as long they bring CASH
thai air should seriously consider limiting their flights to china.

claustrophobia can make people do the most ridiculous things. seven hours being locked up in a plane does not make much sense.

Do they know something the government doesn't know, or isn't telling us? Seems a little heavy handed given the allegedly very low numbers confirmed in Thailand.
government statement on this will be helpful and is indeed required.

this is going to be a major setback for tourism. the few who still brave to visit thailand will think twice, with these exchange limitations.

It'll never happen here. They may pass a law, but it will be unenforceable. Like herding cats.
you have a point but under such circumstances who will travel to be quarantined which must be at least 14 days to be of some value.

with thais returning from south korea running away from quarantine, it is difficult to understand the psyche of such people. quarantine is benefit for the whole community and such selfish behaviour is intolerable.

great self admission although it does not speak well of the authorities. all tourists should be equally well all times.

if the statistics are correct, then there is seriously something to be concerned about as many carriers could have come even though they did not exhibit symptoms at the time of arrival. temperature in itself is no assurance that the person is not a carrier.with contact tracing possible now, best that can be done is to pray.

hen a place such as this shuts down, you know things are getting seriously bad.
this may be a corrective action to reduce financially bleeding.

The first of many methinks......

Putting corona aside I would think the continuing ridiculous strength of the Baht finished them off ????
more than that it is the alternative destinations available in cambodia, vietnam, malaysia, laos and indonesia, amongst others. the Thais ended up overprisiing themselves.

Please explain why you think they have not been doing anything to 'manage' the Baht up?
Didnt the Thailand Treasury recently drop official rates - why did they drop the rates? and has the BOT followed?
BOT should really consider doing something about the baht.

it is indeed sad that windsor suites had to take this drastic step but it is perhaps to cut losses rather than to bleed profusely.we hope COVID-19 will not hit more establishment in its fury.
Thailand tourist arrivals in February fall 44.3% due to coronavirus
