hm returning from south korea and have fever - will make a highly suspect case. best option would be to isolate them in a dedicated facility.test should also be done to check for corona infection.
-
rather than worrying about the high risk countries there should be blanket procedure to check all arrivals and then concentrate on those showing some symptoms of the infection - temperature, difficulty in breathing, etc

It's fun to see that the journalist, whatever their country no longer verify the information but are hunting for scoops.
sad the situation is, but you are right. sensational reporting seems to be the flavour.

I'm currently in Perth and will be returning to Thailand in approx a week. I was looking at flying out of Perth with Scoot, which would mean a 4-hour wait at Singapore, then a flight S'pore to BKK. But reading this here flying into BKK from S'Pore might give me some hassles. Perhaps it'll be wiser for me to pay a bit extra and fly direct Perth - BKK with Thai.
beyond a shadow of doubt avoid transits. get the point to point flight to minimise chances of problems.

All returnees from these nations and territories must self-quarantine for 14 days, he said.
Impossible to control. What about the tourists arriving from these destinations? I guess that is fine.
wishful thinking that people will enforce these restrictions. better to isolate the suspected cases straight away.

these ladyboys will never learn the harm they are causing to the tourism industry. maybe law should get tougher with them.

better to get down to the sources for the poor air quality in chiang mai. only then corrective action can be taken to formulate policy to improve the air quality.

The article on Nation gives more details and the timeline.
They have tried everything on him : the new antiviral drug (China), Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation, and even serum from patient who recovered.
They said that the virus was gone by february 16 (?)... But damages done were already too severe.
Full scale care, staff and equipment, and even some special drugs... But the guy didn't make it.
It easy to imagine the outcome... if the healthcare system can not handle anymore and can not answer with such force (China, Iran...).
The people who think they are smart by repeating like parrot some inane "mortality rate" figures... should rethink, twice.
unfortunately the vaccine to treat COVI-19 is not likely to ready till the end of this year. meanwhile it treatment by trial and error.

do not be depressed by this. it is happening all over the world. of greater importance is the necessity to exercise greater caution to contain this dreadful virus.

At this stage, I don't know if the deluge of Chinese nationals makes a difference. China has been able to contain its epidemic. On the contrary, it is Thailand that will present the risk since Thailand most likely is now a disease reservoir holding thousands if not tens of thousands of infected people. Thailand had an open door policy for the past three months that put it in that position. I do not accept the Thai assertion of less than 50 infections.
if the country does not become transparent about the current infections situation it could become a disaster.

Chinese still allowed in as they wish and can stay as long as they want though right?
that makes absolutely no sense to expose oneself to a potential risk.

It seems to indicate that advisories changed whilst they were away. It's a bit hard to predict what countries do what when.Maybe you should learn to read and use those things called words!Ever heard of those?
it is not possible to tell people not to travel, if their travel plans are privately arranged.

And Indonesia has zero cases.
Clearly they have been consulting with the Thai government to ensure everything is 100% under control.
wish indonesia luck. we hope most countries manage to stay away from the virus.

They know it's rampant in Thailand, just not reported. It ain't that deadly, after all, who's gonna go to a government facility and get quarantined. Probably had it myself - lung problems and what have you.
ot being transparent and addressing the issue is doing oneself great harm. sooner or later truth will pop up.

I think the atmosphere of Nana Plaza and Soi 4/6 was ruined by overly aggressive soliciting by foreigners. Walking back to my room at night I might be aggressively accosted by 3 or 4 African prostitutes.
If I wanted African women then I would visit Nigeria.
Either ask them to act decently and respectfully or deport them.
