so pass the responsibility on to China ?
how stupid is that
How about Thailand owning responsibility for its own citizens and borders
no one can determine the risk exposure as carriers may not show symptoms during the incubation period og 14 days.

"Considering"? That sounds a little strong. Let's organise an action committee and hold a series of meetings.
act immediately. my suggestion is to have meetings later. follow some other country model for protection procedures.

I have a prediction:
Many people living in Thailand and Thai citizens have chosen to stay indoors as much as possible until this situation is under control (from what I hear).
That may cause boredom.
I predict in about 9 to 11 months from now, there will be a baby boom of both Thai/Thai and Thai/farang babies. ????
lol. you may be right.

A bit late to "consider" this now, yes? The damage has been done already.
My 2¢
still better late than never.

Meanwhile, you pansies are still faffing about, hanging on to the tourism money and arrivals and putting everyone in Thailand in potential danger.
better to bite the bullet early. the costs are much higher later on.

this should have been done long time ago as carriers may not show symptoms or be detected by thermal scanners at the time of arrival.

did not the pm say that thailand was completely safe for tourists.

with globalisation in mind, this statement is a joke.

this statement by the tourism minister is beyond belief. he has not shown any concern for the health welfare of the people but only in his myopic tourism dollar. besides shopping the tourists will also be interacting in the public during their sightseeing visits. the tourism minister should be addressing concern about that rather than "keep on spending". what a selfish interest is this?

That's certainly a dead-end job.
they could be carriers in which symptoms show up sometime later as proven in cases in singapore e.g.

That they know of.
matter of time as history has shown unless suitable precautionary methods are in place.

sure people have a right to be angry more so as there are no suitable methods of screening arrivals for their temperature. it was observed that such screening was being done manually which is time consuming and unlikely to cover all arrivals.

good way to go. you have to make it user friendly and convenient for tourists.

do not underestimate the role of thuggery ( viciously beating up visitor often one against many thugs) and the greed of the hawkers who overcharge foreigners at every possible source.
thailand is also relatively more expensive than many asean destinations like indonesia, vietnam, cambodia and laos, to name a few.

Your problem is Indians aren't big spenders , they would much rather share and save and the baht is still to high for them to spend up just like most tourists . The only hope is that the economy crashes sooner rather than later and tourists can afford to come back but until then this is what to expect .
keith101 what a wish for the economy to crash so that things become more affordable for tourists.any way one angle to look at the problem.

hope the indians will not play into wrong hands.

beat them up mercilessly and you expect them to come to visit thailand. word of mouth is a powerful tool. spreads like wild fire.TAT and the police has a lot to do to attract visitors.
