absolutely unacceptable behaviour. flags are sacrosanct and ought to be accorded greatest respect. amazing that there is no apology or remorse response from the scumbags of the visitors.

talk talk talk and more talk.
have more stringent punishment and enforcement measures. only then you can hope to minimise this problem. punishment could include higher fines, custodial sentences and caning for repeat offenders,

the whole matter looks like a big joke.

taxi drivers never learn to respect humanity. to them easy way out to get rich is the best option.the authorities should enhance the punishment for such offences.

If you saw someone drop money in a situation like that and didn't mention it to them and rather surreptitiously picked it up and kept it for yourself, that in my mind is the same as stealing it. Shameful, that man!
shows the guy needs it badly - it is morally wrong.

like to know the reasons for concluding that it was done by foreigners.

If I flag a taxi and he winds down the window to ask where I want to go I don’t tell him but wave him on. Guaranteed he’ll whine about traffic or try to give me an inflated price. If I’m already in the car and he then gives me a price instead of turning on the meter I just get out. If he relents and says he’ll use the meter I get out anyway.
hope you do not get bashed up by some stupid taxi driver who had got up on the wrong side of the bed that day,

a taxi driver is required to turn the meter on.
please learn from these incidences. have caning as a punishment for such a behaviour.

I wouldn't go in a tuk-tuk (taxi) even if you paid me. Complete rip-off !
you can always settle your fare prior to commencement of the trip.lesser chance of problems that way.

they should not be "asked" but instructed failing which stronger penalties like caning ought to be implemented.

Indeed it's only slightly worse having it stolen rather than having to exchange it.

I am left wondering what the people who he went to help did while he was getting the snot kicked out of him. If I were this gentleman I would find and pay a few lads to rearrange the leg bones of the perpetrators at amusing angles. When in Rome ....
two wrongs do not make a right. it is the laws of thailand that are too lax. barbarism like this should be punished by caning and i assure you that you will see positive results.

wrong place at the wrong time. what is this world coming to.

All they have to do is unplug the router, or cut the internet connection to the building.
somebody sure knew a lot about this pensioner - the amount of money in the safe and how to disable the security equipment.

while we feel sorry for the pensioner a burning question comes to the mind. why did he keep such a big amount at home rather than in a bank account from where he could have easily drawn down according to his needs.
very strange situation indeed.
