  8. If BYD's testing of their LFP blade battery (as installed in the Seal) is to be believed, the chances of thermal runaway are low compared to conventional LFP batteries and NMC batteries. "While undergoing nail penetration tests, the blade battery emitted neither smoke nor fire after being penetrated, and its surface temperature reached only 30 to 60°C. Under the same conditions, the NMC battery exceeded 500° C and violently burned, and while a conventional LFP block battery did not openly emit flames or smoke, its surface temperature reached dangerous temperatures of 200 to 400 degrees celsius. This suggests that EVs equipped with the LFP blade battery should be far less susceptible to catching fire, even when severely damaged."
  9. I was going to reply to explain my silence on this subject. As soon as I got the car, I ordered floor mats from Lazada which I fitted over the mats that came with the car. I'm sorry, but I would not be happy to remove them and inspect underneath. Knowing me, something would go horribly wrong. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
  10. I'm certainly embarrassed. I'm embarrassed for you because of how ridiculous you're making yourself look. It's okay to make mistakes in life y'know.
  11. Even if this becomes available after a new OTA upgrade, I'll continue to adjust temperature and fan speed using the voice control. Easier and works perfectly.
  12. And those who are fully confident with their choices are often over sensitive to wacko, ill-informed criticism.
  13. Have you already decided what you're gonna buy?
  14. There's no flies on you!
  15. What's flexible about it? And can you please explain here how you switch charging currents, unless it's too complicated?
  16. Sorry, I meant to reply to this earlier. To answer your question: I don't bother with navigation (except when driving in foreign countries) and I don't even know what this is.
  17. A 1970 Hillman Avenger?
  18. Thanks for that! I could never make out what they were singing. To me, it sounded like "whipping the tee", but I knew that couldn't be right.
  19. Another genius joins the discussion. Welcome!
  20. Ha! Those that know, know you're talking nonsense. Last September, I sold an MG ZS EV which was just over 4 years old. Got a fair price for it. It drove like new and looked like new the day I sold it.
  21. What do you mean by this?
  22. Does anyone think BYD will send Seal owners an over-the-air update which will improve the appearance of the graphics on the two screens? We have an all-singing, all-dancing wonderful car and one of the few disappointments for me is the poor visual aesthetics of the two screens. The HUD is crisp and beautiful while the two screens are cheap and nasty looking. I thought I would get used to them but after 6 months they still look naff to me . Does anyone else agree, or is it just me? P.S. Sometimes when I mess about with holding down the scroll button to the right of the gear selector, I get a very simplified, quite beautiful version of the smaller screen. But it doesn’t stay for long and anyway, it has extremely limited information on it.
  23. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised, but I always am, at the number of times I see reviewers getting things so wrong about the cars. This guy points out, at least three times, that the AWD doesn't have a frunk. It most certainly does! I think he assumed this because it has two motors and therefore no room for a frunk.
  24. Have you got the slightest idea how stupid this makes you look? Did you actually read the article?
