  1. I assumed that only the AWD had the acceleration timer; that's why I specified "On the AWD car". Sorry about that!
  2. Yes it does pop up. But I find it hard to believe it can't be retrieved. It has quite a lot of info on it, not just your latest 0-100 time. It reminds me of the highest score list on a 70s space invaders game.
  3. On the AWD car, can anyone tell me how to call up the page that shows the 0-100km/h acceleration times? I have attached a sample screenshot of what I want to view. I’m sure it must be possible but I’m damned if I can find it.
  4. I think you've made a great decision. I'm not so happy with a situation where you've paid a deposit on a car and it can end up costing more than what you signed up for.
  5. To house the whole unit? I don't think a cabinet is a good idea. Best to have it not enclosed to minimize heat.
  6. Yeh. It definitely sounded like a ghost and I really miss it. To be clear: it was a ghost sound and not at all like a banshee.
  7. I’ve just updated my software. 66 minutes. No problems. I haven’t taken the car out but I’ve been checking the pedestrian alert sounds in my garage. A few questions: Previously, with my old software, I had the ice cream sound which was very loud. I still have that sound but it’s now very quiet, both inside and outside the car. Correct? (I suppose you can’t comment unless you had the old software to compare.) And I used to have two other sounds both of which were similar to each other and could be described as wind whistling, or the sound a ghost makes. I now have only one other completely new, different sound (“Standard”) and it is barely audible inside and outside the car. Correct? Although I didn’t really like the three original sounds, they were quite amusing and I’m kinda disappointed that the two remaining updated sounds are so quiet. By the way, I can’t believe they’ve buried the on/off switch for the sounds on a separate page!
  8. Oops! Don't know how I managed that! Thank you.
  9. I guessed it's something like this. But I still find it quite surprising, especially after the car has been sitting for 12-15 hours.
  10. Thanks, guys. I will give both of your suggestions a go and report back. My girlfriend suggested it might be a ghost sitting in the passenger seat.
  11. My comments may or may not make you feel a little better. I took delivery of my Seal AWD on October 26. After comparing my software with others posted on this thread, I realised that I had an earlier version than everyone else. The dealership were unable to update me; they told me to wait for an alert on my screen. I still have the old software and a few days ago I received the alert in my car informing me that I could perform an OTA update. I am now waiting, as is required, for the battery to be below 20% before I update. With my old software, I can turn off all the irritating, intrusive assistance. I actually have almost all turned off except one of the lane ones. Are you sure you cannot turn yours all off?
  12. As mentioned in my last post, we were staying in a hotel recently. Every morning there was a serious amount of condensation on the car’s bodywork (and glass). Each morning, I noticed a perfectly defined circle on the bonnet/hood which was completely dry; no condensation at all. Hopefully you can see this in the photo. When I opened the bonnet, the brake fluid filler cap was directly below the circle. Any ideas what was going on? Note: the car had been parked overnight for at least 12 hours.
  13. We’re just back from a week in Khao Lak. Most mornings I’d walk, by myself, to the car park and drive the car round to the front of the hotel to plug in and top up the battery with a granny charger. Every time I did this, I got a voice, beep and screen warning informing me that the passenger had not put on their seatbelt. There was no passenger; just me. By the time I reached the charging area, the warning had increased in urgency - louder and more frantic. Quite annoying. It’s obviously a fault of some sort. I haven’t remembered to look into this since we got home. Anyone else?
  14. I have had three EVs. I bought my first one well over four years ago. I currently have two, both of which have very low ground clearance. I have driven quite a lot in Thailand, including on rural roads. I have never damaged the underside of any of my EVs. I think it would be an unlikely event. I did, however, badly damage a tyre in a pothole on two occasions. In nearly 19 years of living in Thailand, I have not damaged the underside of any car. The closest would be when I scraped the front skirt of a Toyota Wish a few times.
  15. First world problems: There is so much that's spendid and tremendous about the Seal. It has far exceeded all my expectations - expectations which were already very high. The attention to detail is great, although there are a few niggly things which seem to have inexplicably escaped the notice of the designers/programmers. As mentioned before, the absence of seat memory buttons on the door is nothing short of unforgivable. And does anyone else think that the definition of text and icons on the smaller screen could be better? Okay, it's not the end of the world but, during daylight hours, neither of the settings (light or dark) is as good as it should be. I have never had a car before with this problem. Having said that, at nighttime, the dark setting works quite well.
  16. Saw a Chery Omoda 5 (BEV) yesterday in Khao Lak. It had Malaysia or Singapore plates. Nice, solid looking SUV.
  17. Good question! A search revealed nothing for Thailand but I found that it's transferable in at least one other country. I realise that doesn't answer your question.
  18. Excellent! Thank you so much for taking the trouble to explain this to me.
  19. Well I wish somebody in the showroom had told my salesman about it!
  20. I think I kinda understand. So, I don't need to connect the car to wifi? It just works by itself? And after 2 or 3 years I will have to pay to continue to be connected. It would be nice if buyers were informed about this when they buy the car. Seems strange to me.
  21. Okay thank you for your answer. I am a complete numpty when it comes to anything to do with internet, wifi, hotspots, smartphones and laptops etc. Are you saying that my Seal just needs the SIM and nothing else and this makes it possible for BYD in China (I assume) to connect to my car, detect what version of software is already installed in my car and then, OTA, update my car to the latest software version?
  22. More than 24 hours later, my car is still telling me the update is available and it will take 66 minutes. I'm ignoring it until we get back home next week. I'd love to know what my car is connected to. It's not my phone. It's not the hotel's wifi.
  23. Here is a video from the front. You can see the registration, E10 EFL: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/Vp9VbIBhDzo
