If it's just an issue of disturbing other students then they should stop talking on their phones and talking to each other. From what I understand from foreign friends that went to uni here it is a madhouse of people not paying attention when they have a lecturer speaking.

As many other posters have done, I also praise this woman for her dedication to her child and her work ethic in trying to better herself through education even though she has a baby to care for. Doing her best in a tough situation.

Kudos also have to go out to the teacher and perhaps institution for allowing her to do this.

Agreed, this is such a stupid thing to complain about. Whoever is concerned about this should be looking at real cases of animal cruelty.

Dogs instinctively want to pull and work. If you have ever tried walking an untrained dog you would know this. They love to be outside and when you put them on a leash they instinctively want to pull you.

It is more cruel to not give a dog any purpose in life. As another poster said, "the dogs in the photos are not stressed" they love it!!!

A shortage of taxi's will only mean less traffic. There are FAR too many taxi's on the streets of Bkk (mostly on the sides of the streets waiting to rip off unsuspecting tourists).

Any steps they take to reign in these useless taxi drivers makes me happy, but will be useless without enforcement, a proper complaint line in English and fines along with these 30 day penalties as many suspended drivers will likely keep driving while suspended anyway.

If they are serious about tackling this issue then they should start by getting ALL of the taxi's of the sides of the roads. This will take a lot of money away from the BIB though as they are the ones that get paid to allow this to happen. But it will immediately show that action is being taken.

Hmmm, so it appears that disrobing a monk, moving corrupt police to inactive posts, sentencing murderers, terrorists and other criminals to jail time then suspending their sentences, is not an effective deterrent to crime???

Maybe Thailand should go out on a limb and try punishing their criminals instead of just wasting court time prosecuting and convicting without following up with any jail time.

Many Thai drivers seem to have no fear of passing on blind hills and corners. Do they just think that with 65 million people in such a small country there is no chance that anyone might be coming?

The laws against bad behaviour have always been in place. I small increase in fares will never stop the "bad behaviour" without proper enforcement.

The complaint line isn't worth the money they are paying for their phone lines as there is zero enforcement, the fines they do had out are too low, and the complaint line is in Thai only.

13 years ago the complaint line was effective, the enforcement was much better and almost all taxi's used the meters.

Yesterday i tried for 15 mins to get a taxi from sukhumvit 11 to Silom at noon (traffic was not bad yet). Many taxi's asked for 200 baht some just said no. Ended up having to go by BTS.

I am personally satisfied with my efforts to be monogamous, but that doesn't mean I won't sleep with any hot girl that smiles at me.

Maybe the Thai Government should ask what the rest of the world has to say about their efforts to eradicate human trafficking and stop patting themselves on the back.
