  1. Told the same last month. No free gift now either!
  2. I've used Best Friend Visa for some years, ever since they and Immigration were in Promenada. Without them you had to queue up before 6am. They do all the necessaries - photo, photocopies, fill in forms, etc. and meet you at immigration at a set time the next day. Charge now 3,500 baht plus 1,900 for immigration. Now getting old and it saves me all the running around and the costs of Grab taxis.
  3. I don't know who told you that. Sriphat is not the only MRI option in Chiang Mai. I've been taken to the one near city hall - cheaper than Sriphat.
  4. Just did my 90 day report online - CM Immigration. Applied 22 Apr 2025, approved 23 Apr 2025. Next report due 18 Jun 2025!! The date my extension ends. So, if close to extension date 90 day report, at least here, does not give the full 90 days until next report. BEWARE.
  5. This brings back memories. Just over 20 years ago a friend of mine went to see the top honcho at his immigration office about changing his reason for extension of stay. He was told not to change as there had been a meeting in Bangkok of all the top immigration people who were told there were big increases coming. The single persons requirement was increasing to 1.2 million baht and a few years later this was going up to 2 million. A year later this hadn't happened, he asked why on his next immigration visit and was told that as the Prime Minister, who had initiated the increases, had been removed by a coup it was not considered appropriate to implement the increases, but they were still on the cards. As that PM is now back as pseudo-PM perhaps he's talking of resurrecting these instructions, who knows in these days of messed up politics!
  6. Obviously a Thai Passport Office, we're in Thailand!
  7. There is NO Immigration Office at Central Airport Plaza. However, a Passport Office has opened there; perhaps your source mistook Passport Office for Immigration.
  8. Just been told that Central Airport and Central Festival are closed while they check for any earthquake damage. Anyone have any news about this?
  9. Centre in Burma just north of Pai. 7.9 magnitude. House rocked for a couple of minutes, thought it was me and I needed the hospital 😀
  10. Friend in Mae Sariang said goods were falling off the shelves in Lotus and all the lights went out. Centre of quake in Myanmar (Burma) just north of Pai.
  11. Yes, here in Nong Phueng, Saraphi. Thought I was having a heart attack until I saw the trees shaking.
  12. Yes, this has been happening for some time. Reported here often. Use to be one night, then two nights so now up to three nights. Some borders are insisting the returnee fly back!
  13. Friend of mine just got back from a visa run to Vietnam. Left last week no exit stamp, they just looked at his passport and handed it back.
  14. Thanks for the addition, I'd forgotten about the outside repairs as I've never used it. Having said that I'll probably need it soon!
  15. Amorn at Big C Extra is now a furniture shop. Amorn at Computer City on the northwest of the moat is now only on the ground floor and now sells a lot of foodstuffs outside the actual shop.
  16. I was one of the 200 views, hoping to learn more about debit card use and restrictions. I have only used mine at the banks' machines to pay in or draw out money. I did, once, use it at a restaurant and it was accepted.
  17. OK I'll reply to keep you happy. Where is 'Villa Mart'? Never heard of it.
  18. Where is he located? I'm in the Saraphi area and have three A/Cs requiring a clean.
  19. Painless. Was given pain killers and antibiotics after the major surgery, only used one pain killer before bed in case, never used nor needed the others. Also told, the slightest problem come back after each visit.
  20. That's where I'm in the process of having implants. Dr Surasak spends time explaining each stage of the procedure. X-Rays, CT-Scans and numerous photos taken at each stage and can be reviewed while there. For the bone graft blood was taken from my arm, blood plasma separated and infused with the graft material to ensure easy acceptance. Follow up visits a couple of weeks after each major operation to check progress. No rushing. My next visit is early next year to ensure the implants into the bone are completely solid and then the 'teeth' will be inserted.

The junction at Auf Der Au is now flooded. A Thai friend rang and said that the water was rising and heading south. I got an SMS, in Thai, from the 'Department of Disaster Management and Prevention', seems it's a general warning they've got the mobile phone providers to send out to every phone in the "danger" areas. One man killed when he tried to get into his car. An electric cable had fallen into the water and was still live. Be careful out there.

Just got back home along that road. Kawila barracks placing sandbags along their gates. Soi leading to Rimping supermarket has sandbags up to waist height - no going in there! People along the road placing sandbags in front of their properties. River now up to the bottom of the bridge near Centara Riverside.
  23. Eventually told the server was down. Came back online in the afternoon.
  24. Unable to login to my 3BBmail account this morning. Says Username or Password is incorrect. Anyone else having this problem?
