Thanks for the addition, I'd forgotten about the outside repairs as I've never used it. Having said that I'll probably need it soon!

Amorn at Big C Extra is now a furniture shop. Amorn at Computer City on the northwest of the moat is now only on the ground floor and now sells a lot of foodstuffs outside the actual shop.

I was one of the 200 views, hoping to learn more about debit card use and restrictions. I have only used mine at the banks' machines to pay in or draw out money. I did, once, use it at a restaurant and it was accepted.

OK I'll reply to keep you happy. Where is 'Villa Mart'? Never heard of it.

Where is he located? I'm in the Saraphi area and have three A/Cs requiring a clean.

That's where I'm in the process of having implants. Dr Surasak spends time explaining each stage of the procedure. X-Rays, CT-Scans and numerous photos taken at each stage and can be reviewed while there. For the bone graft blood was taken from my arm, blood plasma separated and infused with the graft material to ensure easy acceptance. Follow up visits a couple of weeks after each major operation to check progress. No rushing. My next visit is early next year to ensure the implants into the bone are completely solid and then the 'teeth' will be inserted.

The junction at Auf Der Au is now flooded. A Thai friend rang and said that the water was rising and heading south. I got an SMS, in Thai, from the 'Department of Disaster Management and Prevention', seems it's a general warning they've got the mobile phone providers to send out to every phone in the "danger" areas. One man killed when he tried to get into his car. An electric cable had fallen into the water and was still live. Be careful out there.

Just got back home along that road. Kawila barracks placing sandbags along their gates. Soi leading to Rimping supermarket has sandbags up to waist height - no going in there! People along the road placing sandbags in front of their properties. River now up to the bottom of the bridge near Centara Riverside.

Eventually told the server was down. Came back online in the afternoon.

Got an email from HMRC that my Tax Code for next year was available. Had to go online to see it, looks like they are not sending a paper copy out now. Yes, State Pension showed an increase so Tax Code changed and increased tax due from my other pension! Spent most of the last two years getting this corrected from earlier years of increase applied, eventually getting a cheque from HMRC. Contacting them is not easy, the complaints page has gone. Rang HMRC three days ago, after trying for 5 times, cut off after a few minutes, and then hanging on for 1 hour 10 minutes finally spoke to someone who corrected the error. Checked online and my Tax Code returned to normal. I suppose I'll have to do this again next year.

Been there, done that. This was reported on ASEANNOW about two years ago. That's when I found out that my tax had been increasing. It took 18 months to get sorted with letters, phone calls and various documents sent to HMR&C. It was only when I found a sympathetic person in DWP and a slightly less one in HMR&C that it was all cleared and they sent me a cheque! Now waiting to see what April brings.

You sponsored her to get a visa. Now she has a visa she is free to travel to the UK whenever she wishes. She does not have to stay with you now that she has the visa, it is not a requirement for staying in the UK. So long as Immigration at her port of arrival are satisfied, she will be admitted. You are no longer part of this.

I've had prostate problems for a few years now, similar age to OP. I see Dr Assawin at McCormick Hospital regularly and he recently changed my prostate reducing medicine to a stronger one after my PSA started rising again. At his suggestion I went to Sripat Hospital for an MRI scan - results "highly unlikely to be cancerous". That put my mind at rest, now just have to deal with the continuing 'peeing' problem.

Someone mentioned Muk Mai Dental Clinic to me today. They don't seem to have a website. Does anyone have any information/knowledge about them?
-
Many thanks for all the information. Have checked the websites for the above three recommendations and they seem to be much the same. As Dental World is closest to me will visit that first to get further details.

Dental crown fitted after root canal treatment has come off along with some of the old tooth. Originally fitted some 25+ years ago, not enough tooth left to refit it. Can anyone recommend a dental clinic that can do a good implant job at a reasonable price? Top set last tooth back.

Transition from non B visa to non O visa
Ginkas replied to Petchou's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I entered Thailand with a Non-Imm 'B' visa many years ago. Had annual extensions based on working. A few (quite a few!) years back I changed my annual extensions to Retirement, which I continue to do. All paperwork and Immigration records still show me arriving on a Non-Imm 'B'. You don't 'change' the Non-Imm visa (which expired years ago) you change the 'reason' for the annual extension. -
The rules on NHS cover for people returning from abroad changed some years ago. If you've been living abroad for more than a certain amount of time you are no longer entitled to free NHS treatment. In fact, they will charge you 150% of their costs! To become eligible again you have to prove that you are now resident in the UK -Council tax, utility bills, etc., this can take up to 6 months. They will, however, always treat an emergency without question, it's just any follow up treatment that may be charged.

Welcome back Briley. Note: If your 800,000 baht has been in the bank for some time it can still be used to obtain the Non-Imm visa. If not, you have to show that any new entry has come from abroad. I know you've lived in Chiang Mai for more years than either of us care to remember, did you 'remove' your money before leaving Thailand?

Just to give a year's update. Went to Thai Watsadu with my rubber end, found the area mentioned, no rubber ends. Asked the staff, after much discussion and calling in a senior person "no have". Looked around definitely nothing like this. Went to Chiang Mai Vittaya Hardware, showed the item, immediately "not have". Looked around, nothing, they don't even have ladders. Any other suggestions?
